Hunter Hall HHL

Sharetraders who have seen my Ojective Corp (OCL), Emitch (EMI) Penfold Buscomb (PPR), Fantastic Furniture(FAN), Astron (ATR)and SEN Senetas.... threads & or postings.... will know I have been quite bullish on Hunter Hall HHL....for some time...[:p]:)

But protocol now demands that I really open a new thread on HHL; and fly the flag for HHL on its own distinct thread.

Following my also positive thoughts on TRG (Treasury Group) and with companioes like PMP and some other institutions joining the HHL share register, and relatively recent HHL director buying; complimented by the fundamentals, ... as I read/interpret them: ie: low peg and very high roe(year on year), and high earnings(ditto: year on year)and excellent profit margins, and at this time of the sentiment cycle(from where I sit[:I][:I]!!)...I believe HHL could start to see very healthy GAINS.

As always, I'd love your thoughts and feedback fellow esteemed sharetraders.!!

Kind Regards,

Robbo.

I have been following this one for a while. See existing thread. I prefer to invest directly in the companies, eg RAC, than HHL itself.

HHL do seem to be one of the better listed investment thingys.

Thanks for bringing HHL up for discussion Robbo s I've been wondering about this

POD - a bit of confusion here - HHL is the investment company not the LIC...in other words the equivalent of PPT, TRG. HHL have an LIC (HHV) as well as their unlisted funds.

HHL have had great EPS growth - and I'd appreciate any comments on this but my understanding is that such companies rely heavily on management fees and growth is subject to investment inflows/outflows. PPT for example pay most if not all of their earnings out as dividends but still manage to grow earnings at a great rate of knots.

The important thing for such companies is the ability to attract and hold investment $s. HHL have a great track record (not long but good and they specialise in international equities. I see both as attractive from an investors point of view - with international equities managed funds may be preferable to direct investment for many punters. Of the fund managers dealing in international equities few would have the recent track record of HHL - Platinum would be ana exception. HHL are also an ethical investor which has attractions.

So...I've been thinking myself about international funds - rather than invest in the underlying stocks, or the underlying share funds - how about the guys who get the $s managing those funds. Anyways these are just a few thoughts on HHL - I like keeping an eye on their Australian funds anyway and their monthly reports. Enjoyed Peter Hall's chapter in Masters of the Market.

cheers

HunterHall hunting down Red October & moving through new all time highs today....up approx: ## 5%...and looking rather cruisey.

Depth charges/charts only also looking good for this submarine; as the Buy side does start to be the Hall where most of the action is!!
[:p]:)[:o)]:)

May The Hunter become the Hunted (by more buyers that is... !!)

Cheers and regards,
Robbo.:)

Hunter Hall.

HHL. --Hunter Hall.

Notice this evening that ASX listed Debt Collection Co. Repcol (RPC) increases stake in Hunter Hall HHL, to quite a significant over 20% of issued shares. One might just wonder; whether Repcol Directors are rather closer to maybe knowing what's being hunted down at the ...'Hall....?? Hmmmm

Robbo.

Hunter Hall (HHL)

Note that Hunter Hall... has Just re-tested for the 2nd time; and broken through the $8.00 barrier, again this morning(Wednesday 13/10/04)...and IMO is headed soon for the 9, and then the 10 mark...

Hunter Hall up another couple of percentage points....

Must be somethinn in those HHL Director buys previously discussed...;)

although at present the short term Big Waves [8D][8D]...are probably suiting more experienced surfers over at there with the terrific swell happening on the Equity Trustees Beach which is right now....

Big tide of Insto money in EQT....to support ANZ involvement/vote of confidence/perceived Bank strength & security....combining with the EQT entrepreneurial mgt...is the Logical move & way of posiitve market momentum IMO...into Equity Trustees...EQT..

kindest Regards as always,
Robbo.:):)
