You last guys are absolute glory hunters. I have read your posts and they are so boring and what the hell does football got to do with this site. Come on administrator, can this string once and for all.
Firstly gryffyn, have you ever seen Chelski or did you become interested after that Russian crook bought that second rate team from south London. He has screwed his country and has wrecked the premiership with his pathetic attitude of "I can buy any player I damn well want to with my stolen rubees". I see you have caught the bug (re your comments about Gerrald).
Enjoy while it lasts, because once sugardaddy goes, Chelski will disappear into oblivion (and the rest of us can't wait).

You have got no history
Lampards fat, and the rest are all queer
You have bought the Championship after 49 years"

Just saying what most other 'true' footy fans are saying. Yes, we do spend millions. But that money was earned by playing decent football year in and year out, and winning competitons, as well as buying young players and making them world beaters.
All Chelski have done is find a sugardaddy who is just playing football manager for real. If buying the Premiership gives you satisfaction, then so be it. But it will be a shallow win.
Up until recent, Man U was the most hated team. Looks like your phoney russian franchaise now has that crown.
Enjoy it while it lasts.

I lived in the area for a few years whilst working in the UK. Went to many matches at the Bridge. Was a big fan before Roman. Support them when they win or lose, whether they have money or not.
As GH says, the two other teams that have dominated the p'ship have had financial resources beyond all others. Most neutrals are enjoying the change plus the honesty of the portugeezer - beats the dour ferguson and wenger mind games that we had to put up wth for years. On a good day Chelsea will field more English players than an Arrse fan will see in a season. That's good for the UK.
Bring back Zola!

United profits drop by more than 50%
Manchester United today announced half-yearly profits of £28.4million for the six months to the end of January.
The operating profit, before depreciation and player amortisation, was down substantially from the £39.7million figure of the previous year and could put increased pressure on the United board to recommend the £800million takeover offer from American tycoon Malcolm Glazer to their shareholders.
The profit margin has dropped by more than half from £26.8million to £12.4million once depreciation and amortisation costs have been factored in, but before tax.
The decline in profits is attributed to a drop in income from the latest Premier League television deal and a substantial fall in Champions League revenue due to United's third-place finish in the top flight last season.
Group turnover was £91.6million compared to last year's £92.4million.
Media revenue took a sharp downturn of 28 per cent, with a £5.8million drop in Champions League television revenue compared to the previous season.
The club admitted it had been a 'challenging' year.
Glazer has offered 300p per share but his plans are not believed to be favourable to the United board or the Shareholders United group, who are concerned at the level of debt the bid contains.
In the club's announcement to the Stock Exchange, chairman Roy Gardner admitted: 'The process of dealing with our third offer period in the last 12 months has been disruptive to the smooth running of the business, creating considerable uncertainty for all our stakeholders.'

most shareholders wont care Gryf - most have made massive capital gains in the last 3 years, and those that might care about performance would never sell as Glazer might end up with them

I can live with 4-2 :-) Sounds like an oscar performance to get the penalty that gives them another away goal but you'd have to hope we can go there and not lose 2-0 or 3-1.
Greyhound

I started to shut myself when it became 1-1,but the next anouncement on Radio Sport was 4-1,"Yahoo",then when they told us the final score 4-2,I ,strangley, felt a little pissed off.Giiving up a valuable away goal annoyed me.Still,if Chelsea had scored late on to make it 4-2,I would've felt elated.

Gryffn - for the detractors who think this thread should be banned
Maybe MNU willbe dual listed on the NZX ... maybe not ... would be interesting
In the meantime we DO need to discuss what makes this potential NZX stock tick.
It's only right we should be discussing it's competitors ... how they perform is one of the drivers of the shareprice
The other component of value is the raw materials this MNU outfit has ... just like pizzas and fried chicken is important to RBD so is a lot of those unprounounceable names you guys discuss import to MNU
Then again like a lot of the dog shares on the NZX hope of a takeover gives the price a premium .... isn't this MNU subject to a lot of takeover activity and rumour from some foreign raider
From a technical point of view seems to be stuck in a 240/280 trading range ... but can't complain about the price doubling over the last 2 years
winner69

The TTNM chrat looks like it is in an uptrend though it's raw material look a bit off the pace
Don't kill yourselves laughing but TTNM is the team i follow .... all because i went along to cheer for that ARS team many years ago and found myself at the wrong end of the ground ... and had to hide all the red coloured stuff I had and roar for the visiting team ... otherwise i don't think I would be here today telling you this story
Can't remember the score but Pat Jennings was the hero of the day ... and one of my heros ever since
TTNM is a good stock for years that end in 01 ... but 2011 is some time off

Norwich definitely do still have a chance, including Palace & the Saints (both away though). Also play the likes of Fulham & Charlton, who have relatively little to play for.

You really have to question the impact Sourness has had don't you. Sir Bobby had them in champs league and UEFA and GS just misses relegation. He's had bust ups with Dyer, Bellamy, Robben and the ridiculous Bowyer/Dyer thing. I think they pushed the Bobby far too soon and GS lept from a sinking BBR as quick as could. BBR may not be pretty but MH has saved them.
Verdict - GS is a failure and keeping the seat warm for Shearer who probably still needs some help/experience before he can manage a really big club like NCU should be.
marinesalvor
03-05-2005, 10:48 AM
yes GS has been a massive disappointment, but something had to be done about the discipline issues - almost everyone in the squad with the exception of Given and Shearer, and the new guys Faye and Boumnsong, have acted badly in recent years - maybe Bobby couldnt deal with them - but someone needs to - my old maths teacher perhaps
I question the lack of real discipline from Freddy shepherd - hes the majority owner and its his cash cow - he needs to step in and make real noise.

Well GH, Shasta and other Chelski supporters - only this weekend's game left to enjoy.
Silly season will be crazy with talks as to who Chelsea will buy. Shame it's not possible to have shares in actual players - imagine that trading market?
Given that it is supposed to be a left back, a midfielder and a foward who are you picking / wishing for?
I could handle Ronaldhino (sp?), Ashley Cole (except for the &rse connection) and as to forwards I'm unsure - someone with real pace would be great.
Shame we didn't get Rooney - plonker that he is; the portugeezer might have been able to sort out his attitude and turn into him a better bloke as well as a decent striker.

Yeah Preston are certainly old school so good luck to them. Makes you think about which ones are listed and taking punts etc.

Question: Do we support our fellow londoners in the FA Cup, i love watching it live, especially the build up with all the goals etc.
I would support anyone to beat Man U though...

Hobsons choice isn't it. A lover of the game would want high-scoring draw with extra time and a shoot-out!

And it might be a bit much to ask, but a fractous niggly game with an all in brawl would see suspensions carried into next vear.
