Bale tends to get bonus points when he may or may not deserve them ..... could be a favourite on those who determine this aspect

He is in my team and this is one of the reasons

I sold Van Der Vaart, Bale will start more games, & when you have Lennon, Modric, Kranjcar, Huddlestone, Palacois, Jenas, Sandro, Bentley, & Dos Santos competing as your midfielders, Bale is a genuine lefty so is pretty much a shoo in.

The problem is that to accomodate all the midfielders Bale will be shifted to left back.
Having said that he is in my team but that was only to take advatage of the price rises, cant see his value increasing much more

Bale is the most popular player in fantasy football an incredible 49.8% of players have him.

With Lampard & Fabregas injured, finding a regular midfield performer is a bit harder, cept for Malouda who is on fire

Bit of a rough start this year. I was all set to no transfers and then I read that Bramble arrested for rape. So hes gone.
Now line up is 3 Chelski 3 Arse and 3 Newcastle. Been watching Malouda, he's one of those players that just does enough, and yet he's still top scorer for the league. Manure showing an age issue. And LPool's squad just isn't up to it.

Despite only a score of 20 im quite happy this week , still five to play including capt berbatov.
Plus many spent points bringing in konchesky who lasted 27 minutes before doing a hamstring.
Would love tevez but not going to drop berbatov for him , hopefully drogba will be injured to make an easy decision

Chelsea had an easy start said Fergie, after wins over West Brom etc ....

West Brom beat Arsenal, & Man U who have stumbled to draws with Everton & Fulham, can't get past Bolton lol

Great week for Chelsea to lose, the main rivals didnt take advantage of it, shades of last year where the SCUM failed to capitalise

Chelsea had an off night & probably had one eye on the champions league, i expect Arsenal will feel the backlash at the bridge, with no Fabregas, Van Persie or Walcott most of there attacking threat is muted (I will have Chamakh & Sagna on the bench)

Fulham & Spurs both have injuries to key men upfront, so i can see this ending in a 0-0 draw

Newcastle should win at home v an very erratic Wigan

Chelsea & Man City will want to show they are title contenders & should both win, anything less than 3 points will be a disappointment

Sunderland may not have Darren Bent, but Gyan still provides them with goals upfront & Blackburn dont really have a regular scoring striker

Bolton at home are an interesting beast and I'm leaning towards a Blackpool upset will study and post if I do.

The LPool sale saga is interesting but from my reading regardless there will be no extra money for Roy. Am still in the air as to weather he can handle a top 17 club's expectations. But at least his avoiding the drop experience will help us this year.

Bought Figureoa and not sure how the bridges will cover Alex. Man C have richards back.

Paulo Ferriera will cover for Alex, no worries (nice to have a Portugese international on the bench)

I read that the $320m pound offer for Liverpool, would also bring in $40m pounds for January purchases, but i see one of the current owners has put an injunction to stop proceedings, if Liverpool dont sort there **** out Raina, Gerrard & Torres will all go.

The premiership needs a strong Liverpool side

Funny how things come back to bite you, aye Fergie?

Chelsea beat West Brom at home 6-0 & Fergie accuses Chelsea of having an easy draw.

West Brom beat beat Arsenal 3-2 at Arsenal, & today West Brom ( v Man Utd) they came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at Old Trafford

Man City can close the gap to 2 points with a win at Blackpool, leaving Arsenal & Man Utd 5 points behind Chelsea after 8 games!

Todays 0-0 draw between Blackburn & Sunderland netted me 16 points, 10 for Robinson & 6 from Bramble off the bench, due to the Toure brothers not playing, so i sold Yaya for a more attacking midfielder in Chris Brunt, has a good run of games coming up & could net a few points

I hate it when i get it wrong & i have defenders on the bench with clean sheets!!!!

I have the money to buy Tevez, but Chamakh is doing a good job leading the Gunners in RVP's absence

Seems unusual to have both points scoring machines Lampard & Fabregas not playing, both are due back very soon

Well the cats out of the bag Wayne Rooney wants out of Manchester United...

There are only a few serious clubs who could secure his services...(in order of likelihood)

Man City - Rumoured to offer $50m transfer fee & $50m in wages over 4 years (approx $250,000 pw)

City already have Adebayor, Tevez, Santa Cruz, Bellamy & Jo. With Adebayor, Santa Cruz & Bellamy all likely to be sold off, could Rooney tie up with Tevez again?

Manchester United - I don't think it's a complete dead duck that Fergie could talk him into staying, perhaps with some concessions on his pay rise

Barcelona - Already have Messi & Villa - so while they could afford Rooney, cant see him fitting in there

Real Madrid - Already have Ronaldo & Higuain, plus quality midfielders Ozil, Di Maria but due to all the spending to assemble this team, Rooney wont be joining Ronaldo & Jose

Real have offered an interesting proposal*, Benezema & L Diarra + $20m for Rooney (total value approx $60m)

Chelsea - With the premiership golden boots from the previous 2 seasons (Drogba & Anelka) both in there 30's & Rooney just 24, Roman Ambramovich could make a cheeky move for him, where Rooney would link up with England pals Terry, A Cole, Lampard

I don't think this would happen (& i dont want it to happen!), Roman has said no more massive transfer fees & outrageous wages, & it would upset the squad to have Rooney paid want he wants (Top earners Lampard & Terry earn around $150,000 pw). Rooney for all his talent has never won the premiership golden boot before, 3 years ago Christano Ronaldo got it at Man Utd, & to be honest i'd have Drogba the best striker in the world over Rooney, but Chelsea do need a younger quality striker, i see Alexandro Pato (21) is on there radar & he'd be cheaper.

Inter/AC Milan - Can't see either of these teams being serious contenders, they have good players & i doubt could afford Rooney.

Big winners out of all this will be Everton who have a 25% earn on clause on any transfer fees above the ~$25m they received for Rooney joining Man Utd, thats $6-7m Everton badly need to put towards a striker!

Outcome:

I'm picking Rooney will go for the money & go to Man City, Tevez did it & succeeded, & Rooney leaving Everton for Man Utd shows he doesnt care what the fans think of him.

Man City for all there money & talent, need more attacking players, there midfield bar, Milner, SWP & Silva are mostly defensive midfielders (De Jong, Kompany, Barry, Y Toure)

Question is, will the $50m go against debt, or will Fergue get it to buy a striker & perhaps add to there midfield*.

Chelsea missing Essien & Lampard in the midfield, & Drogba started off the bench not fully recovered from a virus.

Arsenal dropped 3 points & the Manchester derby is played mid week, hopefully its a draw & they both drop points, so Chelsea's slip up doesnt hurt them.

Dont forget to adjust your teams folks, theres games wed & thur morning (full round) followed by a full round in the weekend.

There are too many draws for me to keep betting.

What happen to the guy who use to beat on how many points will be scored in an nba game.

I hate to say this but i think Arsenal will will the league this year, here's why?

Chelsea - dropped the ball by sacking Ray Wilkins, days later they lose 0-3 at home to Sunderland. They also failed to replace Ballack, Cole, Deco & Caravalho. Benayoun has been injured & not featured & Ramires seems to be a flop. Without Lampard & Terry out injured the heart & soul of the team is missing. Chelsea lose, Essien, Mikel, Kalou & Drogba in January to the African Nations Cup, i believe they will miss 5 - 6 league games. This puts all the pressure on Anelka, Malouda, Alex, Ivanovic & Lampard when fit to grind out the wins (like they did last year when they remained unbeaten while ANC was on), i can see Chelsea slipping up while Lampard & Terry arent there.

Arsenal if they can keep RVP, Fabregas, Walcott, & Arshavin fit should win the league, they have quality up front RVP & Chamakh + Bentner/Vela, a stacked midfield of quality players, incl Wishere, Nasri, Song, Diaby, Fabregas, Arshavin, Walcott etc & there defense isnt too bad either.

Man Utd rely too much on Rooney, Scholes & Giggs & dont have that ruthless streak away from Old Trafford, they like Chelsea will keep dropping points

Man City, are just too defensive to be a contender, too many defensive midfielders are keeping A Johnson & SWP on the bench, & Tevez needs help up front, a big target man, Silva, Bartoelli are too small & Adebayor looks like hes going in Jan. They draw too many games & dont put away the bottom half sides away from home

Spurs, are struggling with the demands of champion league games midweek & as this is there 1st year, you think being eliminated from the champions league might help them in the premiership, there squad is pretty good, but defensively they are all over the show, injuries at the back & front arent helping, & too many unhappy midfielders not getting game time

Liverpool & Everton look like they are finally starting to show top 6 form, after indifferent starts to the season, both need to cull a few unhappy players & find young hungry replacements

I think Arsenal & Chelsea will be the top two followed by Man U & Man C, with Spurs, Everton & Liverpool fighting over 5th - 7th place.

I expect all these sides to be buying in January to address there short comings

First time in 165 games that Chelski lost 2 in a row. Speed wobbles for the team of injuries. Results still all over the place and no patterns. Perhaps the inflated transfer values has lead to more second tiers coming in and not stepping up. The game in England is more bustle and hustle than finesse and grace.

That is why I always see the Arse struggling, they play the prettiest football.... Title could end up in Manchester thou ALAS

Ps Ryan Nelsen could always score the winner next week and Chelski back on top.. Get on and get plenty

Chelsea will win the title, Arsenal slipping up has changed my mind, if Chelsea have injuries to Terry & Alex, Roman will buy in January & will likely sanction a bid for Bruno Alves, who has admitted he'd like to join Chelsea, he's an attacking full back, with Ashley Cole also in that mould would help out Chelsea big time.

Gary Cahill, Phil Jones & even Brede Hangeland could all be options, maybe even Lescott as City want to sell him!

PS, Sold Drogba for Tevez, he's off to Africa in a few weeks & isnt in great form (god i hope he hits a hat trick v Newcastle!)

Each time Chelsea lose i sell a player, lol

PS, Might move from 5th to 2nd in the main comp, i got Yaya Toure (8 points) to come off the bench to give me 78 points this week!

Happy with my dream team strike force of Carroll, Elmander & Tevez...

You might want K Davies, Bolton play Backpool at home, could end up 6-3, "pool will have a go & Bolton under Owen Coyle have played some attractive footy & seem to be finding the net of late!

Things at Chelsea get worse, Carlo Ancelotti has contacted the League Managers Association & may walk out over the poor treatment of Ray Wilkins

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1331876/Carlo-Ancelotti-brink-quitting-Chelse.html

Carlo has been firmly put in his place by the Chelsea board (read: Roman sickophants) that he is the Coach NOT Manager, unlike Sir Alex Fergie who runs Man United as he sees fit.

Roman Ambramovich needs to learn Chelsea needs some stability with Managers NOT a revolving door, Carlo can bring him the holy grail (Champions League success)
but he needs to hand over the Coaching & Manager role to Carlo himself, who did so well at AC Milan when given the main role.

Time to stop throwing the toys out of the cot & get on with it...

Never a dull moment supporting Chelsea, as usual every full back in Europe will be rumoured to be heading to the Bridge in January!

This weeks multi as placed today (home teams listed first, all games are H2H)

Aston Villa v Arsenal - Arsenal to win @ $2.10
Bolton v Blackpool - Bolton to win @ $1.60
Stoke City v Man City - Man City to win @ $2.20
Newcastle v Chelsea - Chelsea to win @ $1.65
Everton v West Brom - Everton to win @ $1.60

Total odds $19.52 x $5 to return $97.60

Not a big return v reward this week, but not much value about, & a few games i found hard to work out...

Thought about making the Newcastle v Chelsea a draw to increase the return (draw @ $3.25, makes the multi ~$192 return), but Chelsea badly need a win

I cant blame ya Root, he had NO form or goals for many weeks, who saw that coming, given all the rumours he may be sold in January!

Im picking Elmanders golden run may come to end, with all the rumours bout him being sold in January (as Bolton cant afford to keep him, already on $50,000pw!)

Chelsea again underpar, really missing Terry, Lampard & Essien - though Anelka & Drogba have to take alot of the blame they aint finding the net & this aint the same Chelsea side that won there 1st two games 6 - 0!

Ramires is light weight & young south americans dont really have the size to match it in the EPL, without Lampard, the likes of Benayoun would provide some experience & stability.

Everton will be hurting after losing 1-4 at HOME to West Brom, but visit Stamford Bridge, with a Chelsea side that lost 0 - 3 to Sunderland last time, & the fans wont settle for anything but 3 points .

Im picking Drogba & Malouda to put Everton to the sword, i can see a 4 - 0 win, to appease the Chelsea fans who havent taken 3 points in a few weeks!

Wont matter now, only Sunderland v Bolton (1-0) & Blackburn v West Ham (1-1) have avoided the snow

Maybe Man City v Everton on Tusday morning will go ahead, but the big Chelsea v SCUM Utd clash is OFF

Going to be a congested schedule in the new year, but Chelsea were due to play SCUM & Arsenal back to back, so this helps them a little (Man U already have the Blackpool match to catch up on)

I'll say.. First round of the fantasy cup I've at least got maybe six playing if man City Everton goes ahead. If it doesn't I win 11-0 into the second round. Courtesy of Ryan Nelson kneeing one in. A clean sheet would've been nice.

C'mon Sunderland!

I doubt Wellbeck will be able to play as per the loan agreement, so Sunderland wont go to old Trafford (I call it Sir Fergie Stadium) with 3 up front like they did v Bolton

I expect Sunderland to play a 4 -4 -2 system with Bent & Gyan up front, & i wouldnt be surprised if Sunderland nicked a point (more in hope though)

SCUM should win it, but i'd love them to drop points so the rescheduled clash v Chelsea, really does look like the title clincher.

I expect Chelsea to win & do the double over Arsenal, like they did last year, with Lampard back i expect there slump to end.

Read an article yesterday where Nani dismissed Man City, Aresnal & Spurs & said its us & Chelsea for the title & given they have shared the last 6 seasons (3 each) its hard not to agree with him.

SCUM still have Blackpool to play in an extra catch up, which you would expect 3 points for the SCUM, that would give them a 5 point buffer.

With 4 games in 10 days, the title race & relegation fight could really start to shape up as teams seek to pull away from the bottom & keep in touch of the europe spots

Im house sitting for a few days over new year & will get to see these on sky, so looking forward to the busy schedule, NO MORE SNOW PLEASE!

Checked again no bad weather overnight. So now the only risk is a frozen pitch at Blackpool. Perhaps Steve G can go to a nightclub there again roll on the next two weeks four games squad strength at a premium maybe fresh Gerrard, Lampard and Fabregas can ignite the comp with the red devils burning out...

What a frustrating Xmas my captain hasn't played last two games Nani and Tevez. Gave me Huth who was a blob 0 so double zero is zero.

The season is strange Chelsea looking average after kicking off in a hiss and a roar. The Arse played well the other day and Manure looking strong. The truism of points in the bank versus games in hand will be tested in March.

Knocked out of cup today by a player who hasn't made a transfer and had Arshavin as his captain

Good luck, I think a blackburn win is a cert.

Found this interesting article whilst researching thru the footy news

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3376317/Premier-League-football-stars-4-in-a-bed-orgy-with-team-mate-and-two-brunettes.html

Top ten club in the premiership, he's in his 20's & was with a team mate, so who is it?

I reckon its the injured Andy Carroll & Kevin Nolan (who is meant to be "mentoring" Andy, as he has to live with him as directed by the Newcastle Police), these two have also been fined by Newcastle for going on a massive bender after a game recently.

Nolan is the club captain & has had a stellar year on the pitch with 10 goals from the midfield & should know better. Carroll is a different kettle of fish, young, hugely talented striker with 11 goals this year, only Berbatov & Tevez have scored more league goals, yet he is still to adjust to the demands of a professional footballer & thus while injured has "let loose" of late.

Newcastle need Carroll & Nolan far more than they need the club, & any fine against either may result in a written transfer request.

Carroll has had Spurs & Chelsea sniffing around him, so he's probably feeing 10 feet tall & bulletproof, Nolan wouldnt be short of admirers either

I could be wrong, so what do others think?

John Terry & Ashley Cole have been know to stray, could be them!

I see Torres is looking like he'll be facing Liverpool next week in a Chelsea shirt

Torres & Drogba up front with Anelka off the bench will be a massive handful for defenders.

Chelsea still have to play Man Utd twice, so the title isnt out of reach just yet...

We still need another central defender, if David Luiz deal doesnt go thru, Chelsea may look at Bolton's Gary Cahill or Man City's Joleon Lescott

I thought Kilthuggers were supposed to be tight. We have panick brought a potential troublemaker??? Not playing for newcastle last few weeks but can pass a medical. I'll say he was pushed. There must've been better strikers to pick up.... Agbonlohor, K Davies. So am sitting in trepidation as to the wisdom in the time pressured situation. Also just brought Miereles in a wildcard move to be a goalscoring midfielder playing up front.

The ANC starts this month so may be Chelski will test the new waters without Drogba to see if the striker could be relaesed to Real in the off season. Still Torres fit is an asset and he will do well at the bridge.

$35m for Carroll. no wonder Mike Ashley bite Liverpools hand off, Darren Bent @ $24m is looking like a bargin, 2 games = 2 goals for Villa

Carroll has to live with Kevin Nolan as part of his sentence for assault, not sure how he will get around this!

Liverpool with two talented but young & unproven strikers, they should have asked for Sturridge as part of the Torres deal. Bolton got a great loan player, & im surprised Kakuta went on loan to Fulham. Mersey your lucky you didnt end up paying $15-20m for Carlton Cole LMAO... :p

I'm happier we got David Luiz for our defence, hes more important to Chelsea than Torres, he will have watched Chelsea win 4 - 2 away to Sunderland this morning, scoring goals isnt a problem for Chelsea, stopping them is (i say this even though we have the best defence in the premiership)

Terry, Luiz, Ivanovic & Cole is a defensive "dream team" especially with Alex still injured

Chelsea will lose Drogba, Kalou (both Ivory Coast) Mikel (Nigeria) & Essien (Ghana) to the ANC, so only Essien will be missed & unable to be replaced.

Best news is that Torres IS available for the Champions League, im unsure if Luiz is.

As per the news report Carroll arrived at Anfield in a Helicopter. Read into this personal terms requires a helicopter to transport him to Liverpool from Nolan's backyard to training daily and gameday mornings.

Yeah the defence is tight, you'll probably try and sneak on the 12th. I always rated Bonsingwa as a good attacking defender but hes on the bench.

How bout a salary cap similar to an NRL, $3,000,000, for the squad? The great thing with all the loan deals is that the prem league depth is strengthened.

Just noticed the gameweek score on H2H your at -2??? Didn't use the wildcard but your bench will help with the blue Torres not playing. Whereas I swapped Terry for Ivanovic oops???

Yeah rush of blood with transfers after ive used the 2nd wildcard, i not going to catch up with those ahead when half my squad is the same, so ive made sme changes, my strategy might not work, but its a chance im taking

All my bench will play so Bardsley & Coleman will come in so theres 1o points & only had 3 playing this morning, my captain is Luke Varney, he's hoping he nets a hat trick tomorrow morning!

What a crazy day in the premiership, 41 goals in 8 games, bottom of the table Wolves come from behind to inflict the 1st defeat on Man Utd, Aresnal couldnt hold onto a 4 - 0 lead at half time, drawing 4 -4 to a Newcastle side lacking strikers!

Louis Saha scores 4 for Everton in a 5 - 3 win over Blackpool, Tevez hits a hat trick in a 3 - 0 win & defender Robert Huth scores 2 & assists the other in a 3-2 come from behind win for Stoke.

The planets have all aligned nicely for Chelsea to reduce the gap at the time overnight v Liverpool at the bridge

Have read Ancoletti will play an attacking Torres, Drogba, Anelka strike force - so expect more goals

Had three goes at writing this. But I think the second game is a replica of the first with Chelski having three times as many shots as LPool but only the same number on goal????? Chech and ivanovic bicker not a good look.

The bittersweet irony now is for LPool to finish fourth and Chelski fifth. The striker unit at the blues would be climbing over each other to get to REAL. So they will be cheering for Barca so that the "Real" monlith will stump up the wedge. SO the race from here is that the lowest scorer of Torres and Drogba is Spain bound.

If Jose stays at Real, Drogba will go. I expect a fair few will be sold including Drogba, Malouda, Ferriera, & Mikel in the summer

Pity we loan Sturridge to Bolton & he sores 2 goals in 2 games!

Im just annoyed Chelsea did not close the gap, fancy the SCUM losing to Wolves!

Malouda would be a huge loss, I'd be a tad angry if I was a blues fan and they let him go.

However, they need to stop following these headline type players and get some passer/workers back into that midfeild. The front half of there team is just stacked with goal scorer's. Chelsea need to start developing or finding your Arsenal/Barca type midfeild players who can build goals.

Instead of buying Torres Chelsea would of been better off playing young Sturridge instead of farming him off to Bolton. They always try to buy their way to success , unlike Man u who develop their own players

Roman has sanctioned a $50m bid for Cesc Fabregas in the summer, he spent well over $100m on the Chelsea Academy, & has had little success, thats why hes buying up & investing in youth before the fair play rules kick in, only 17yo Josh MacEachran so far has cut the mustard.

Frank Arenesen's role as Academy Sporting Director expires at the end of the season, & Guus Hiddink could return to head it up.

Chelsea have developed some players but they havent made the grade, Roman funded the academy with the aim that over 5 years 1 player would make the starting side each year - but look at Chelsea's squad they are all experienced international players.

I do think over the next season or two, Drogba & Anelka will leave/be sold to get there last big contracts, & Daniel Sturridge could well partner Torres

Problem is how do you replace a Drogba, Lampard, Terry, Cech, A Cole these are world class players & have formed the nucleaus of the side thats won 3 premierships in the last 6 years

Aresnal are the only team that does produce consistently good players thru the youth ranks, they are the envy of all other premiership sides in that respect

Malouda was a bit player when he first joined & only towards the end of last season did he show his worth, he started this year strong but has dropped off in form. if he was sold for a decent amount i wouldnt shed any tears, we have enough attacking players & Kalou would likely take his place.

Plus his sale will go towards buying Cesc Fabregas hehe... ;)

Bet placed, odds all the same as noted above :)

I was up following the live scoring commentary on BBC of the Birmingham v Stoke, game, & Birmingham scored after 90 mins to ruin the bet

Petr Cech saves a penalty to save Chelsea from defeat @ Fulham, there are big problems at the Bridge, in 5th place & 2 points behind Spurs

If Chelsea dont finish in the top 3 & get automatic qualification into the Champions League then Carlo Ancoletti will be sacked at the end of the season, i like Carlo & just last year he won the "double" for the first time in Chelsea's history, but Roman wants trophies

Roman apparently asked the Board what would it cost Chelsea if they didnt make the Champions League, from memory the amount was around at least $40m pounds in TV rights, without the additional attendance revenue etc

Roman then sanctioned $50m for Torres & $21m for Luiz in an effort to ensure they at least make the Champions League.

I actually think Chelsea have a good shot at the Champions League this year, the premiership is gone & its a 3 horse race, Man City, Spurs & Chelsea for the 2 remaining Champions League spots & 3rd place in the premiership, the title race is between Man U & Aresnal, & should Chelsea beat Man U or draw in there 2 games, it could open it up for Aresnal.

Regardless of what happens, there will be a clean out of Chelsea players at the end of the season, if only to provide funds to reinvest into the squad.

The players i suspect will be sold are: Drogba, Anelka, Malouda, Mikel, Ferriera, Hilario, Zurkov

Possible sales include Turnbull, Kalou, Bosingwa, Ashley Cole (only cos hes unsettled in England & Chelsea may cash in on him)

Those staying include Cech, Terry, Ivanovic, Luiz, Alex, Lampard, Ramires, Essien, Torres, Sturridge, MacEachran - in fact this could be there first team next year!

Anelka & Torres have a future together at the club, Drogba may rejoin with Jose @ Real, & i ve read rumours Real/Chelsea may do a swap Drogba for Kaka!

It's marginal that's he up to A league standard yet. Although Chelsea may consider a swap for Torres?????

He may follow Smeltz to China/Turkey/Australia/China/Turkey/Holland or MELBOURNE.

On the premiership, my team has become dessimated with injury suspension and the like. Have to quit a couple this week as haven't got an eleven yet. Ouch Vidic, Kelly, Walcott, Van Persee, Adams, O'hara. Call me Coops this week.

Good result for the Premiership this am. The commentaries rated Luiz form But the stats look strange Chelski 3:1 shots but 1:2 possession. As Fitzy would say a game of TWO halves.

Rojas is a raw young talent, but there are probably better players already in the NZ domestic league, hes nothing special

I doubt he'd last long in League one in England & he certainly is no where near premiership material!

The kid got lucky with the Nix, & even luckier that Melbourne wanted him, but the A league as a whole is quite sub standard, & hard to watch.

But on a happier note, Chelsea beating the SCUM @ the Bridge has me in a good mood, never though Luiz would beat Torres onto the scoresheet, but Torres will probably get a hat trick v Blackpool who with there injuries look like lambs to the slaughter on Sunday.

Chelsea's catch up match is v Birmingham, so they should move to 3rd above Man City & Spurs.

Im quite happy with it, but how can anyone select my beloved Penrith Panthers players when they are the "Pakistan" of the comp...

Thrashed at home by Newcastle, then go turn over Parramatta away... a betting man should put $$$ on Cronulla to beat Penrith 13+ at Penrith! Its going to be one of those seasons

More worried about Gareth Bale's injury, do i sell & buy Luka Modric in his place?

Is Bale really injured ? Or just trying to escape playing for his country.
Penrith looking good , in bringing in Lachlan Coote soon although he an injury worry too

I read an article that Bale was happy to choose Wales ahead of England, & im sure he would relish playing England, certainly dont think "Arry is keeping him back for Wigan next week!

Must check when the CL quarters start

Went for a walk & popped into local TAB, as the premiership is back in full swing this weekend & locked in the following multi:

West Ham v SCUM Utd = SCUM to win @ $1.70
Birmingham v Bolton = Draw @ $3.30
West Brom v Liverpool = Liverpool to win @ $2.25
Wigan v Spurs - Spurs to win @ $2.25
Stoke v Chelsea - Chelsea to win @ $1.65

Total odds = $46.86 x $5 to return $234.30

Some great odds on offer, due to:

1. International break & the top sides have players coming back from all over the show
2. Bottom teams at home will be deseparate to win
3. SCUM, Spurs & Chelsea are still in the CL & may be distracted

I really really really hope if my bet doesnt win its cos West Ham beat the SCUM, that would make my weekend ;)

Big game for my whole family, apart from the one Man City supporter, full strength Hammers side and the SCUM struggling to fill the midfield. Still need some extra wide woodwork to keep the ball out. Hope Hernandez is jet lagged and can't get off the bench.

West Ham 2 - 0 up & lose 4-2 , Arsenal & Chelsea scrap draws & hand the SCUM the title, they had to gain 3 points to have a show...

Torres still not scored, he should v Wigan else im selling him!

Sorted this weeks multi on my walk

Wolves v Everton - Wolves to win @ $2.50 (Wolves have had several wins over top sides, they just cant beat those around them!)
Blackburn v Birmingham - Blackburn to win @ $2.00
Bolton v West Ham - Draw @ $3.30
Sunderland v West Brom -Sunderland to win @ $2.00
Aston Villa v Newcastle - Villa to win @ $1.90

Total Odds = $62.70 x $5 to return $313.50

Couple of really good goal start (can win or draw) options this week.

Bunch of teams who are trailing very well, and in great form but the tab has them all slight underdogs on the road, hence they get the goal start option.

Blackburn @ West ham - $1.75
Everton home to City - $1.50
West Brom @ Wolves - $1.62
Chelsea @ Man Utd - $1.57

An average dividend of around $1.60 there – that equates to a 63% chance of winning or drawing these matches. I feel this is too low hence good value at the TAB.

Aston Villa v Wigan - Villa to win @ $1.80
Bolton v Sunderland - Bolton to win @ $1.80
Wolves v West Brom - Wolves to win @ $2.20
SCUM Utd v Chelsea - Draw @ $3.30 (I hope Chelsea win but SCUM may play for a draw, which would seal the title for them)
West Ham v Blackburn - West Ham to win @ $2.00

Total Odds = $47.04 x $5 to return $235.20

Interesting weekend. Wolves staying up? So much for me expecting the 3 W's to go down. Still as MM says still two games to go.

No clean sheets??? And LPool knocking in 5 this am....

Man U looked good for the points and dear I say 2-1 flattered Chelski. Can't put finger on it but midfield shakey and couldn't dominate a 40 year old Giggs. Pak played best game of season

Chelsea's problem is that half the side have 2 more games in the blue strip, expect Man City, Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool & even Arsenal to spend up big for next season, last under the fair play financial rule

What you got this week Shasta?

It seems the TAB is taking a liking to the teams with a relegation threat or playing for Europa, however most of them are away from home. And, In the final week, I like home teams!

Man Utd are good at $1.60, Spurs even better at $1.55, but the best odds of all are with Fulham at $4 who looked the goods last week and finishing at home against the limping Arsenal.

The funny round in the Sun I see Birmingham and Blackpool going down...

So took a fun bet:
Wolves (2.1) to win
Chelsea to win -1 goal (5.00) fun in the sun and a rout
Fulham to lead at Half time(4.75) Agree that the Arse are teetering
Blackpool to lead at halftime (5.5) Adrenaline and then petter out
Tottenham to win -1 goal (2.4) Birmingham are woeful

$658 to $1 so stand to collect $3,291

Final multi of the season, went for a walk before

Bolton v Man City - Man City to win @ $1.70 - Tevez can win the golden boot & City can secure 3rd & an automatic spot in CL
Everton v Chelsea - Draw @ $3.30 - Everton have had a good season, & with no money & key injuries, Chelsea have 2nd place & nothing to play for
Wolves v Blackburn - Wolves to win @ $2.10, of the bottom sides Wolves have the best home record & i fancy them to win this
Man Utd v Blackpool - Scum to win @ $1.55, they havent los at home all year, but expect goals in this & Berbatov to win the golden boot, 8 - 4 anyone?
Spurs v Birmingham - Spurs to win @ $1.55, they dont really want Europa league, & Birmingham needs to win & i think they are in trouble.

Total Odds = $28.30 x $5 to return $141.50

West Ham are down already & i expect Blackpool to go down also, If Wigan or Birmingham can pick up any points, Birmingham needs to match Wigans result to stay up.

Wolves & Blackburn look safe to me, unless Wolves lose heavily - even a draw should see them both safe, but know who knows ill be following the events live on the BBC site

Top 6 to remain as is ;)

Yip I think everyone loved the Blackpool story, but it had to come to an end..

They will live on in a way with Charlie Adam, as one of the top teams sign up for that lethal left boot.

Good on Wigan though, a couple of big results towards the end there. Put it down to Charlie again (Nzogbia this time), he is my favourite player these days. Pretty sure he will move too, however scared an attacking player like him will sit behind another all-star on one of the leading teams, i.e. What Chelsea (Wright Phillips etc) now City do..

I've come to realise these players (or lots of these players) really aren't worth their keep. It's going to take real hard work and quality to win the comp for the next wee while as the top 6 is all very strong these days. Taking this into account, I don't think raw ability is the key in the transfer window, I would rather a team of players who can get up and give 100% every single weekend instead of someone who may give you a that every 2nd week, and struggles under pressure.

Man utd have proven this is the recipe for success, and I think City showed a lot of it this season as well. Can Chelsea and Arsenal match it?

Arsenal and Man utd are going to be tussling for the same players, both are desperate for a Goal keeper and another Centre back. Man utd probably need another containing guy in the middle to replace Scholes/backing up fletcher. City are obvisouly stacked and will be ok. Spurs always buy well from un known leagues, but really need to bolster there Centre back stocks. Liverpool I think need a spark, bit more quality on the wings (One of the Charlie's?).

Chelsea? I don't really know, they really need to make a decsion on Torres because Drogba is going to slow down, Lampard is going that way to and his fitness issues could become common. Possibly another Centre back? They have looked stretched there at times.

Chelsea will have a clean out, i expect Drogba, Anelka, Malouda, Bosingwa, Zurkov, Ferriera, to all go. Maybes are Kalou, Mikel & Cole

Players i would hate to lose, Terry, Lampard, Essien, Alex, Ivanovic, Cole,

They will recall strikers Sturridge (Bolton) & Sinclair (Swansea), defender Manceinne (Wolves) & midfielder Kakuta (Fulham), all other loan players will be sold.

Chelsea need a decent back up keeper to Cech, defender wise, Terry, Alex, Ivanovic & Cole should start so expect another defender or 2 for cover.

Midfield with Benayoun, Lampard, Mikel, Essien, MacEachran, Ramires, add in Kakuta looks 1 playmaker shy, expect a big name like Luka Modric

Up front Torres will be the spearhead so they need someone to play deep for him Sturridge or Sinclair are options but one of Drogba, Anelka, Malouda or Kalou will remain depends on the formation whether they retain the diamond formation, 4 -3 -3, or to utlise Torres with a 4 - 5 -1 or 4 - 4 - 1 -1

The squad needs refreshing with some younger fringe players thats where the loan players should come in, i rate Sturridge & Kakuta, & Mancienne should be perserved with, perhaps Scott Sinclair is surplus to requirements or a bench only prospect.

When u look at what there first 11 would maybe look like, Cech, Cole, Terry, Alex, Ivanovic, Lampard, Essien, Ramieres, MacEachran, Sturridge, Torres they dont need alot of players, expect Benayoun to play more to feed Torres too, Ramieres would make way for him

Im almost pretty certain i haven't shagged any woman from the Hutt, or not knowingly anyway!

Im gutted that Chelsea could only make the quarters so i wont be watching, haven't had sky in ages but will pick Barcelona to win 2 - 1, i know its a cliche but the midfield battle will likely decide who wins, even though it pains me to say this, but this Man U side deserves alot more plaudits for there achievements, they had a defensive injury crisis & got thru it, & to be able to leave golden boot joint winner Berbatov & Nani on the bench shows how strong they are.

Like Chelsea, Man U need a creative attacking playmaker in the centre/left midfield, Spurs midfielder Luka Modric fits the bill, i expect him to go to one of those clubs

You serious? I think the fact it was Messi has inflated this a tad.

Taking nothing away from him, he is the best out there but the goal wasn't that great. It was a well struck shot about a metre or so from the GK. Vandy had his sight blocked from someone, hence dived late and missed it.

It was the work Messi did to get so much good space which makes that goal a goodin.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2004862/Luka-Modric-exclusive-I-want-join-Chelsea.html

I'm going to put a sneaky $20 on Chelsea winning the premiership & champions league double in 2011/12!

Apart from another keeper to challenge Cech & Turnbull, any more players bought will be to replace whoever gets sold, as some older players are moved on.

I just hope the new manager who should be Guus Hiddink, can find a way to play Torres & another striker together, Spurs may insist on cash + Drogba for Modric.

I'd happily give them Malouda, Anelka, or Bosingwa ;)

Statement from the Chairman on the Spurs website:

"I wish to make it absolutely clear, as I have said previously, that none of our key players will be sold this summer. We are building a team for the future to consistently play at the highest level and retaining quality players is crucial to that.
"In respect of Luka Modric, we are not prepared to sell, at any price, to Chelsea Football Club or any other club.
"We made our stance on this issue abundantly clear in writing to Chelsea. They chose to ignore it and then subsequently made the offer public.
"For the avoidance of any doubt, let me reiterate that we shall not enter into any negotiations whatsoever, with any Club, regarding Luka.
"We now consider this matter closed."

So what he's really saying is "get the big chequebook out".

Modric has already stated he wants to join Chelsea, so you're right, what that means is Roman we want more money.

Dont be surprised if Spurs ask for Drogba & $20m for Modric - wud help strengthen both teams.

Rumour is Chelsea upped there $22m offer to $25 or $28m, but for straight out cash it will take $30 - $35m pounds im guessing

Seems theres alot more to all this Serpie!

Levy said no key players will be sold, from that Gareth Bale & Luka Modric wont be going anywhere, though im stunned to read Chelsea have offered midfield maestro Michael Essien, one of the best holding midfielders in Europe.

Seems Chelsea are in for Sergio Aguero with a $50m bid, so Drogba & Anelka & possibly Kalou & Sturridge at least 2 of those are surplus to requirement.

Sturridge will probably be loaned out back to Bolton if another striker is bought. Anelka will be sold, & Drogba/Kalou look like they will be used for player swaps, if Kalou stays he'll warm the bench, & Drogba is a mystery - class striker but at 33, he maybe looking for a final move & big payday. Cant see him on the Bench playing second fiddle to say Torre & Aguero.

This transfer window will be the biggest & craziest ever, the fair play rules kick in next season, so expect Chelsea, Scum, Man City, Aresnal & Liverpool to splash the cash. (Yes u read that correct, Arsenal will spend!). If Spurs sold Bale or Modric, they could also rejig the team, they need a striker & Chelsea has Malouda, KaloU, Sturridge & Drogba (take ya pick Serpie!)

Spurs need a striker & ive read Berbatov may return, & Defoe even mentioned with Arsenal!

Defoe, Crouch & the russian fella Palyuchenko (sp?) didnt cut it this year, Redknapp does fancy Drogba, but i'd guess he's off to Spain rather than another english club

half/full time doubles for this season, two per multi is the way to go.

Less than 12 hours away from another 9 months of endless action packed EPL so my 1st multi of the 2011/12 season is:

Liverpool v Sunderland - Liverpool win @ $1.50 - Pool look like a top 4 side this year
Blackburn v Wolves - Blackburn to win @ $2.00 - Rovers are usually good at home
Fulham v Aston Villa - Draw @ $3.30 - Fulham the draw "specialists" last year, too close to call
QPR v Bolton - QPR to win @ $2.30 - DJ Campbell, Bothroyd & Taarabt provide the attacking power
Wigan v Norwich - Wigan to win @ $2.00 - Norwich have always been my "2nd team" to support (as well as who ever plays the SCUM each week!) & i'd love them to win if my multi doesnt come in, cant see it away though, Wigan need to win these games v the promoted sides especially at home if they are to stay in the premier league.

Total Return on $5 bet = $227.70

I picked the 5 early games Sunday morning, plus the Fabregas/Nasri saga has me cold on Arsenal players

Arsenal lead Newcastle 4 nil last year with 20 odd mins left & it ended 4-4!

In terms of fairness I should state that week 2 transfers are free...... Coops you can make 13 free of charge.... Some kind of muck up in the weekend

I have resorted back to my stance of two years ago, NO Scum players in my team & 3 Chelsea players at all times.

This week's multi i'll be putting on tomorrow...

Sunderland v Newcastle - Sunderland to win @ $2.10 - should be a feisty northern derby
Arsenal v Liverpool - Draw @ $3.25, Arsenal need to replace Fabregas & Nasri, while Liverpool need time to gel with there new players
Norwich v Stoke - Stoke to win @ $2.85 - I have a soft spot for the Canaries, but Stoke look too strong even havin played mid week
Aston Villa v Blackburn - Villa to win @ $1.70, Blackburn without Nelsen & Samba at the back look like relegation candidates
Everton v QPR - A largely injury free Everton squad should do well at home & should get all 3 points here

$5 bet to return $248

Chelsea have stolen the player Arsenal should have signed, Juan Mata will provide attacking midfield role Chelsea have been lacking, that should end the pursuit of Luka Modric.

Ill keep Malouda in ym team til Mata becomes available ;)

Off the BBC football site, transfer rumours...

Liverpool considering a swap of Raul Meireles for Chelsea's Daniel Sturridge - seems win/win for both sides, Liverpool have too many midielders, Chelsea have plenty of forwards

shasta
26-08-2011, 01:42 AM
Modric has already stated he wants to join Chelsea, so you're right, what that means is Roman we want more money.

Dont be surprised if Spurs ask for Drogba & $20m for Modric - wud help strengthen both teams.

Rumour is Chelsea upped there $22m offer to $25 or $28m, but for straight out cash it will take $30 - $35m pounds im guessing

Latest rumour on BBC site is that Chelsea having signed Juan Mata are STILL interested in Luka Modric & will go back with a stunning offer of $30m + Yossi Benayoun & for a years loan, Daniel Sturridge.

This deal looks good allround as Yossi is currently taking up one of the 25 squad places, & Chelsea need to shift a few players.

Spurs get a replacement (& a decent one) + cash to rebuild for maybe the Jan xfer window & a striker to help them out whilst they seek a permanent solution.

Sturridge wont get much game time with Torres, Drogba, Anelka, & Lukaku, even if Malouda & Kalou are moved on, so regular game time will assist his developement & hes quality as shown at Bolton last season.

Spurs strikers Defoe, Crouch & Palyuchenko just havent produced enough goals, & Robbie Keane is now in the MLS, & Sturridge will score plenty, as Bale, Van Der Vaart, Lennon & co will provide plenty of opportunities even without Modric

Well done for those of you with Dzeko or Rooney as your captain this game week, & whoever had Ashley Young in there fantasy side

Spurs 1 Man City 5 (4 for Dzeko - who needs Tevez!) - City putting down a marker with Dzeko, Aguero, & Nasri adding more attack to the starting side.

Man Utd needed to beat Arsenal by 5 goals to join City at the top of the table & duly despatched 10 men Arsenal 8 - 2, With Rooney scoring a hattrick & Young 2 goals (& probably a couple of assists)

Its only 3 games into the season (for Spurs & Everton just 2) but already Man Utd, Man City, & Liverpool all look much stronger squads & add in Chelsea who have stumbled & not got into 2nd gear yet & im thinking this will be the top 4.

Spurs have been carved up by both Manchester sides conceeding 8 goals & Arsenal have been dealt too by Liverpool & now Man Utd.

Looks like 'Arry & Arsene will need to get the cheque book out & buy some defenders, both sides should be looking at Chelsea's Alex, a quality player

Stoke v Liverpool - Draw @ $3.30
Wolves v Spurs Spurs to win @ $2.40
Bolton v Man Utd - Man Utd to win @ $1.37

Blackburn v Arsenal - Arsenal to win @ $1.80, Blackburn look in trouble & Arsenal needs all 3 points to stay in touch
Bolton v Norwich - Bolton to win @ $1.70, Bolton will wana bounce back from there 5nil hiding from the SCUM
Aston Villa v Newcastle - Villa to win @ $1.80, Initially i had this down as a draw, should be a close game
Swansea v West Brom - West Brom to win @ $2.70, Swansea cant seem to score, WBA have Odemwingie & Long up front
Wolves v QPR - Draw @ $3.30, QPR have bought some experienced PL players & look a decent side

Woops,

Blackburn came back and benefited from two own goals as they beat Arsenal 4-3 in a thrilling game to move off the bottom of the table, while QPR, Norwich and Swansea all found success, Everton beat Wigan and Newcastle drew at Villa.

Bottom line I got zip correct and you got QPR...

and Ireland beat Oz at the Rugby world cup...

Man City v Everton - Man City to win @ $1.40
Newcastle v Blackburn - Newcastle to win @ $1.85
West Brom v Fulham - Draw @ $3.30
Wigan v Spurs - Spurs to win @ $2.00
QPR v Aston Villa - Draw @ $3.30

Total Odds = $56.40 x $5 to return $282

One of the other games that looks a juicy bet for those interested, Man Utd playing @ Stoke & paying $1.50!

Yes, Stoke have a big, tall side, but they capitulated against Sunderland going down 4 - 0. Chelsea struggled at Stoke on the opening day with a 0 - 0 result, but the Scums form is unreal & Rooney/Young/Jones are all looking good for England too, the Scum will be hard to beat anywhere this year, but remember Chelsea started last season in much the same manner & look what happened!

Hi Shasta,
In my Jimungo virtual premiership entries as in your 2 Jan 2012 post I picked Chelsea like you did (Chelsea won) and Arsenal and Aston Villa like you did who both lost. I got the Stoke to beat Blackburn result as I remembered you posting you liked Stoke earlier. I also picked QPR who lost. So for me two out of five.

I am currently 150 of >14000 in the New Zealand Jimungo Premiership League vitual contest. Only reason is most people are not doing too well on the picks over the whipsaw period we have just had.

Just like the DOW etc ...

Hey TL

This season really has been full of surprises but i've enjoyed it even more, despite my beloved Chelsea struggling to kick on.

Nice to see Man City & Spurs up there for a change (cant bemoan City's spending when Chelsea have done the same!), when you have the likes of Arsenal & Liverpool in the Europa spots currently (& at what odds the two Manchester sides in the Europa League?????) you know its the best league going around.

Sorry Serpie, but im waiting for Spurs to come off the boil, i guess without European football to worry about this year, they really should clinch 3rd or 4th spot ahead of Arsenal (Liverpool & Newcastle look far to "flakey" to make a run), still think its Manchester Red/Blue & Chelsea for the title, but with just Chelsea of the current top 4 with champions league committments, it will be interesting...

Top 4 is still the goal Shasta - anything more is a bonus.
As long as we stay ahead of Arsenal we're happy!

Talk about a jinx, i say goals galore & Norwich earn there first clean sheet & Chelsea drop a valuable 2 points.

The SCUM helped Chelsea by beating Arsenal, so it seems the top four will still have the 2 Manchester & 2 London based clubs.

Arsenal must be miffed losing Clichy & Nasri to Man City, after losing Fabregas & after 14 years in a row of Champions League football, they look in serious danger of missing out, they really need to sort out that defense & another striker to help RVP should be a priority before he joins Barcelona/Real madrid or Man City

This weekends multi that i shall place in the morning (bout time i won, this year has been crazy for upsets!)

Arsenal v Blackburn - Arsenal to win @ $1.25 - with Chelsea playing Man Utd, Arsenal must win to stay in touch
Norwich v Bolton - Norwich to win @ $1.95 - I expect the Canaries to bounce back from the Sunderland defeat
QPR v Wolves - QPR to win @ $1.95 - Taiwo, Zamora & Cisse all look good purchases, & at home
Stoke v Sunderland - Draw @ $3.30 - Sunderland on a roll since O'Neill came in, but Stoke are tough at home
Wigan v Everton - Everton to win @ $2.10 - Everton's win over Man City should spark some confidence!

Total Odds = $32.94 x $5 to return $164.70

This weeks multi bet that i shall place tomorrow on my walk (home teams listed first, all games are HTH)

I have spoken with the TAB, should any games be snowed out, that game is removed from the multi, should all games be postponed, you get a refund!

Man Utd v Liverpool - Man Utd to win @ $1.80 - I'd love a Liverpool upset, but cant see Utd losing at home
Blackburn v QPR - QPR to win @ $2.90 - Blackburn shipped in 7 v Arsenal, & there defense is a mess
Fulham v Stoke - Fulham to win @ $2.00 - Stoke are awful away from home
Sunderland v Arsenal - Arsenal to win @ $2.00 - Can Arsenal win & stay in touch with Chelsea?
Swansea v Norwich - Draw @ $3.30 - Swansea are good at home, but Norwich will have a go

Total Odds = $68.90 x $5 to return $344.50

This weeks multi as placed on my earlier walk (home teams listed 1st, all games HTH)

Bolton v Blackburn - Blackburn to win @ $3.10, how will Bolton fare 1st game after Muamba's collapse?
Swansea v Everton - Swansea to win @ $2.20, at home look very solid & on a good run
West Brom v Newcastle - Draw @ $3.30, WBA on a decent run & Newcastle have goals in them...
Aresnal v Aston Villa, Aresnal to win @ $1.37, with there frontline defense now fit, im picking Aresnal for 3rd or 4th spot
Chelsea v Spurs, Draw @ $3.30, see below

Big big game, the top 5 sides will all drop points in the run in, but i see this game as crucial for who gets the 4th Champions League spot for next year. Spurs roll Chelsea at the Bridge & thats the end of Chelsea's run for a top 4 spot, win & i think Spurs will miss out & secure 5th spot. With Chelsea playing Benefica in the CL quarters on Tuesday, who they line up for this will be interesting, a point each only plays into Arsenal's hand, as i cant see them not getting 3 points at home to Villa, but this season has shown so many upsets, who knows.

Total Odds = $101.74 x $5 to return $508.70

Hi Shasta.
It's been awhile since I had a look at this page.
I see you got two picks correct last week.
Arsenal to beat Aston Villa and the Chelsea / Spurs draw.
The draw was a good pick.
I enter the Jimungo vitual Premiership each week.
By some fluke I am currently 110 out of 16491 players.
I got four of your chosen games correct.
As I almost never pick draws I did not get the Chelsea / Spurs draw.
All the best

jeez that Spurs team is useless .... still the typical Spurs performance .... forgotten how to suceed

8 points clear in 3rd a while ago and now destined for 5th or 6th .... no desire .... no killer instinct

Multi placed on my walk earlier for the last weekend of the season (all games kick off 2am Monday morning NZ time)

Everton v Newcastle - Draw @ $3.30, both teams have had a great season, very even on paper.
Norwich v Aston Villa - Norwich @ $2.20, Norwich my "2nd team", have had a great year to stay up!
Sunderland v SCUM UTD - SCUM @ $1.40, SCUM will win, but so will City & take the title (since Arsenal's invincibles won in 2004, its been either SCUM Utd or Chelsea winning the league)
West Brom v Arsenal - Arsenal @ $1.65, Gunners need to win to clinch 3rd & last CL spot (given my beloved Chelsea will batter Bayern Munich at home in the final, 3-2!)
Swansea v Liverpool, Liverpool @ $2.10, Disappointing season for Liverpool given the spend up by Dalglish, fantastic season for Swansea, who adapted very quickly to the premier league, & making home games count, something Liverpool have lost the art of!

Total Odds $35.22 x $5 to return $176.10

End of season summary & predictions (yes i know still 1 round to go):

Manager of the year: Pardew (Newcastle), whats he's done is simply incredible & his chief scout must be a sitting duck for a big club to poach him given the number of primarily french players he has scouted who have excelled in the premier league, ie Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Cisse, getting Demba Ba on a free from West Ham which was probably the best free transfer of the season (& Stoke turned him down!)

Notable mentions to Lambert (Norwich) & Rodgers (Swansea) for keeping them up & playing attractive football.

Worst Manager of the Year: Kean (Blackburn), week after week of pure hatred from the fans he kept on, & never fixed there defensive problems & letting Nelsen & Samba go in January window was the reason they went down. Other mentions: Andre Villas Boas (Chelsea), never won the dressing room & with strong personalities like Terry, Cole, Drogba & Lampard he was always a target for trigger happy Abramovich, Di Matteo played at Chelsea & i hope he's given the chance, if he wins the CL, he's a shoo in.

Personalities of the Year: Mario Balotelli is a walking headline, closely followed by the erratic but talented Carlos Tevez, City need to sell both in the off season to keep the team morale for a big season next year hunting more trophies.

Biggest Flops of the season: Andy Carroll, if he's worth $35m, Newcastle needs to slap $100m clause on Pappa Cisse!, Torres will improve & now is scoring in the big games, but at $50m hasn't justified the price tag. Other flops include: Downing (Liverpool),

Best Buys of the Season: Jelavic (Everton), Cisse (Newcastle, among others), Young (SCUM Utd), Aguero (Man City)

Who gets relegated: Bolton along with Blackburn & Wolves (both already down)

Who plays where in Europe next season:

Man City, SCUM Utd & Arsenal in Champions League (If Chelsea win CL they qualify, else Spurs should make it)

Newcastle, & Liverpool* in the Europa league (Chelsea or Spurs depending on CL final, *Liverpool qualify via League/FA Cup)

Most over rated player: Andy Carroll (Liverpool), needs goals on a regular basis, to start along side Suarez.

Most under rated: Clint Dempsey (Fulham) - consistent performer week in week out

Moment of the season: Fabrice Muamba's collaspe at White Hart Lane, resuscitated after being dead for 78 mins

Championship Playoff: West Ham v Blackpool - Prediction West Ham 2 - 0, joining Reading & Southampton in the premier league.

Finally, Chelsea to beat Bayern Munich in an upset in Munich, 3 - 2, Torres to score the winner in extra time!!!!
