"AusQuest (ASX Code: AQD) has assembled a portfolio of gold and nickel projects across Australia with an emphasis on locating new mineral provinces with the potential for major new discoveries (Figure 1)".
"The company has two gold projects, one in central QLD (Drummond) targeting ore styles similar to those at the +100 moz Carlin gold trend in Nevada, USA and one in WA (Horsetrack), where similarities to the +27 moz Telfer deposit have been interpreted".
The company has three nickel sulphide projects, two (Table Hill and Antrim) with potential for Noril’sk style massive Ni-Cu-PGE sulphide mineralisation in under-explored regions of WA and NT, and one (Beasley) with potential to host Kambalda style nickel sulphide mineralisation in WA.
Initial exploration activity will focus on locating gold resources within the Drummond project, and testing nickel sulphide targets at the Beasley and Antrim projects. Nickel sulphide targets at the Table Hill project will be tested by Sipa Resources under the terms of the Table Hill farm-in agreement (earning 75%). The Drummond project is subject to a clawback by Rio Tinto -See the Nov. 17 Disclosure document: The Plenty River-, the Antrim Farm and Table Hill are also subject to Farm-outs.
Re Drummond, "exploration is focussing on the 60 km long Beresford Gravity Ridge in an unexplored portion of the Drummond Basin where similar geological and geophysical features to those controlling the very large sedimentary gold deposits at Carlin, some containing up to 50 moz gold, have been recognised but have never been tested". Due to heavy rains, the drilling which was to begin on Dec 16, was deferred and on Febr 5, the rains still had not subsided.
Some of the Plenty River Diamond project tenements have Native title and approval to explore need to be sought.
