ok guys, does anyone know of any good forums free off course like ST, that talks mainly about the ASX?

i know we have this one here, but most of the stocks are mining co. that ppl ramp them up so that they can cash up easily......

i want talk about good solid companies, like woolworths, SGB, ANZ, PMN etc,

any help is appreciated thanks

Sharescene.com has high quality discussions. Though you will not find much discussion on Woolworths there either.

its just here on ST>..... dun u realise its all about mining this and that.... buy this and that... just so that they can make some dough of us when we buy of them.....

im sickened by it, dis forum should be renamed ASX - mining :D or something hehehe

Dazza - you really should do your own research before trading. Then you can only blame yourself. I have found that most ppl here will try and help if you ask questions.

Interesting criticism/ grizzle there Dazza !!!

Why do you NOT simply start a Thread called Woolies (WOW) and see waht everyone says ????

Also why just the ASX 100...okay so no minining companies for you, which is cool....[8D][8D]...sounds like your looking like Defensives...... so why not have some criteria like:

(1) Non Mining Co's except the Real Biggies:.....like BHP, Rio, WMC and Portman, Centennial Coal, Maccarthur Coal etc maybe ???

(2) Daily Turnover of at least $200, 000 per day

(3) Must have ROE of at least 15

(4) Must have minimum Profit Earnings of say $10 Millions and have been reportikng earnings for 2 years or more....

(5) Must be paying Dividends

(6) Must have a Market Cap of More than $90 - $120 Milions plus, or is that a bit too low,, say you may perhaps prefer, more than $170 Millions ???

(7) Must be currently Profitable and have increased their Earnings/Profits in the last Reporting Period from the one before which was still substantial....

(8) Must have a PE less than 35 ????

(9) If your into PEG's you may say also perhaps a PEG less than say: 0.9.....???

(10) Earnings per share (EPS) of at least say greater than 19 cents per share...tht would scrape in firms like James Hardies ???

(11) Earnings Per Share Growth (EPSG) of say greater than 11 from previous Reporting period ...??

(12) An NPA (except for Media Companies like Fairfax I guess; ???... coz of the way they value their Intangibles/Mastheads etc.......of less than 10 ??

(13) Iccreased Revenue of greater than 5% from previous Reported period....

Anyway Daz; these are some possible criteria, for much LARGER extremely Liquid High Daily ASX dollar turnover you may wish to begin to consider....

Absolutely none of US, here on S/T --Share Trader; COULD then ever be accused of Ramping these sort of stocks...our enthusiasms and 'ramps" as you call them, just WOULD NOT, COULD NOT AND NEVER WOULD COUNT !!

Our opinions would effect such stocks like a tea cup of salt water in The Pacific Ocean....

eg NOGOC aswell as good old ATR :D

just that well id see a balance, over in NZX they have ur blue chips ur small caps etc etc

yet all i c on the ASX thread is, small caps mining ones....... 80% of the topics are them.

to the poster enquiring i should do my own research...
do ur own research.... yes it is good, but if u said that then there wouldnt be no need for brokers, advisors, educators, forums etc etc


BUT if u did ur own research plus compare it to others.... then bang its all good :D

dun really need to do much research...

eg IBM and AAPL had alrite reports but their SP got smacked a bit, therefore wise to short the markets and walah next few days dow down heaps... but climbed goodly today though :D
