Hi,

Has anyone here had any experience with using a mechanical trading system such as the ones followed on www.futurestruth.com. I've looked into a few such as RC Success and ATS 3200 which have both been performing extremely well over the last few years.

If they are as good as they claim, why does anyone bother watching charts etc and trying their own strategies when these are returning upwards of 100% pa. returns. RC Success system returned 178% for the 12 months to Feb 2005.

What sort of returns have others been achieving using their own systems? I've seen posts here where people are discussing 300+ pip open positions. Is that buying one lot or using a mini FOREX account?

I've just started looking into FOREX and trying some things out with a demo account. Do people prefer the free online JAVA charts, or use a program like Metastock or Tradestation?

Comments on any of the above welcome,

Thanks.

if you want to buy a system just make sure( as Van Tharp says) that it fits your personality.

if a black box system has only a 50% hit rate but still has a positive expectancy you need to be able to make sure that you can sit smilingly through the 50% of the time that you're going to have losses, and have absolute faith in the system...
