I've just been reading "Elliott Wave Principle - Key to Market Behaviour" that Steve sent me. I want to try some of the techniques out on past market data.
Does anyone know where I can obtain free historical data? By this I mean the max and min for each day etc. It can be for forex, shares etc anything as long as it is free.
Please post your links, as I can't seem to find any.
Thanks
Bambi

Daily data is available free, in CSV format, for near the last 10 years for ASX here, high-low-open-close and volume if I recall correctly, there is a file for any single day over this period.

It will take patience to download, but it won't cost. I don't know of any site that will give longer than a years data for one company free.
If you are fortunate someone may have a CD , these are produced by some data suppliers and contain up to 10 years data for all companies, I don't have one though. Good luck in the search, if you do find a better site post here, it could be useful.

For forex data, http://freeserv.dukascopy.com/exp/ may be useful. It's probably better to visit the site in FireFox Or turn javascript off in Internet Explorer, else, you get an ad that regulary gets in your way at timed intervals
