Macquarie Infrastructure (MIG) are offering the purchase of additional securities, however, to buy them, the offer documents state that the cheque must in Australian Dollars from an Australian Bank. Does anybody else have experience with this? I have sharetrading and bank accounts with ASB and NBNZ (both of which are Australian-owned). Are their cheques acceptable, or can they arrange cheques from their parent bank?
Thanks in advance.

Go to your bank and get them to issue/buy a cheque in Aussie $s drawn on a Aussie bank , it will cost you 15-20$ but that is a tax deductable expence, saves you opening a Aussie bank account.

Cheers! So it is slightly less than brokerage, but the discount to current price makes up for it :D

If your broker is Direct Broking and you have a Maquarie Account to pay for purchases on the ASX, Direct will issue a cheque in $A without charge.
