From the big fall off of postings re trading over recent months I can only deduce that there has been a huge fall off in trading ,if this is indeed the case ,what gives? why, isnt the trading enviroment conducive to making monet or have most of the regulars migrated to HC in Aussie?
I was just going to post similar topic as I was scrolling and looking for something to buy...and nothing came up that took my fancy.
So, if it's not shares, who has the best return for 30 day rollover funds?
6.7% in Fast Saver account with ASB or equivalent with some other banks. Not all provide them.Money is on call but you need internet banking for all transactions. At least that is higher than the likes of Dorchester (6.0%) but the funds are an extra day away if you want to invest.

What do you mean Bricks? Surely your not alleging that Justine is the administrator?

Agree with Belgarion, have reduced holdings and watching for particular shares to drop in value.

Trading is fine. But posting is low priority - not much evidence there are any readers out there....

It is a difficult environment.
Overall it is a fully valued market. NZ$ possibly weakening (but we have been expecting that for a while and still it is up there). Some prices bounce around seemingly for the fun of it.
I see good dividend yields and/or good overseas exposure as the shares to play with going forward.
But one needs to buy wih care.

Gota agree PT its a difficult environment, theres still money to be made, but tradings been difficult and seen a few of my shares deep in the red today. starting to eat the profits ouch.Im not in the NZX at the moment, taking advantage of the high dollar while it lasts, plus more growth companies in ASX, I find the NZX very limited.

Watching and waiting game for me at the moment. As the consensus turns towards cashing out of the NZX I am hoping that there may be buying opportunities.

Seems that a downturn in the market, also correlates to less posts on this forum.......

Just an observation I have made, I used to access this site via a link on the Direct Broking site. When they were allowing both the new and old Home Page to be viewed for a week or so, I couldn't find this link on the new site so I accessed it via the old one and saved it to my Favourites.
I am only a "New Visitor" to the new DB site and I still can't see the link there. Is it different for those who are "Existing Clients" or am I just suffering from a bout of blindness?
Just thought that this could be the reason for the downturn of people on here just now. (Lack of link I mean, not my blindness [V])

I've noticed the same. In fact, i'm guilty of it! Although, it may be because i'm spending more time closely examining reports & buying now that prices are dropping.
Not a bad time to be a contrarian methinks.

Phaedrus: Shorted this share this morning. Have I gone crazy??? or has my TA-analysis been correct for the medium- to long-term.
I am not surprised that the market went against me initially this morning (Williams %K), but think this share will down-trend in the medium term.
Kind Regards

The link is still there, indirectly
Under the "News" heading on DB site there is a link to "recommended sites" and this is the top one.
Easiest to just put its address in your favourites
