I decided to go with HLG instead of the WHS and get some cents out of the stock before DIV day.

Picked up a good parcel @ $2.98 now it is trading @$3.15 so i already have a 5% return:) Have a target of $3.20 by this wednesday or thurs but of course hoping to get more. I think 3.30 or more is possible.

The div is a healthy 10c:D

Im tall not short:), Bongo

Could have another go Bongo

Great result out and another 14 cent dividend

Isn't it amazing that a well managed sensible company actually benfits from a strong $NZ and keeps some of the benefits for it's shareholders

Not like WHS or BGR who have given it all and more to the consumers with shareholders not getting any of what should be a windfall ... and even subsidising a battle between the two to see who can get to the bottom quickest.

The difference between a company who understands its market and customers (ie can work out what they want and what they are prepared to pay for something) compared to ego driven (big is beautiful and all that and the droves will come) who drive things on ratios (ie a mark up mentality)

Well done HLG - what an announcement .... direct opposite to the WHS one a few weeks ago

Bongo,

Just interested. Why do you continue to hold WHS? Surely you don't still think it has great growth prospects?

Done Winner, @ the high of the day, 3.55 a nearly 4% net return, im expecting this to climb above 4 bucks.

Just sold skc minutes before @ 4.69 after buying @ 4.28. SKC had a slighly higher Div than HLG @ 15.5c :D

This Div mining is a lark, B

Sadly i sold those but it was only a small amount. Shows you how risky short term can be and how rewarding long-term investing is.

This parcel of HLG was much bigger:Dand I think i got it at a good price leading up to the Div date. Ill accumulate more at any weakness around $3.50.
