"The end-to-end wireless tracking and monitoring system for containers was designed for improving the safety and security of US (and International) ports where millions of containers pass through every year largely un-monitored. Due to limited technologies available previously and physical resources to properly insure cargo integrity, the company focused on the marine application as its primary concern as a major national security issue".
"Currently the legislation specifies a plan for identifying possible radioactive material and the Green Lane is envisioned to fast track cargo ships which have deployed security measures such as WiFi's system. The proprietary system is lauded as a best of breed solution for securing cargo ships and containers in and out of U.S. Ports. Benefits the system provides include seamless real time anywhere available container identification, security alerts for tampering detection, temperature monitoring, and hazardous or explosive materials detection utilizing WiFi's "ART TAG" (Active Response Technology) and its "Trusted Tamper Seal."
"The innovative system will allow for tracking from the time a container is closed and loaded to its ultimate destination. WiFi's technologies and business model have been designed for feasible economic and tactical deployment in a timely manner. Scaleable working models are currently installed and running at the company's lab in Orange County, California".
"The WFSCT system is an end-to-end solution which includes all electronic devices, wireless control, monitoring and tracking communications equipment, network infrastructure and proprietary software systems, algorithms and user interfaces, all of which are exclusive WiFi innovations. The WFSCT Smart Chip System can communicate large amounts of data regarding the condition and location of cargo containers, at a rapid rate in the most challenging environmental conditions. Deployment of such technologies will ultimately be mandatory requirements of all ships entering US Ports"
6 Sept 2006:" WiFi Wireless, Inc. announced today that it will now take orders for its WFSCT System. The proprietary system is lauded as a best of breed solution for securing cargo ships and containers in and out of U.S. Ports. The Homeland Security-minded solution is designed to satisfy and solve key issues dealing with the daunting task of containers and cargo security for ships coming in and out of our ports improving cargo security, reliability and safety. The company recently announced that it has been in discussions with various port authorities".
Sept 20, 2006: "The WIFI system allows for the detection of radioactive hazardous materials as well as far reaching key security measures with real time monitoring through wireless technology. "WIFI's technology delivers a complete security solution for hazardous material detection without the unrealistic requirements of implementing X-Rays of containers and congesting ports. WIFI technologies delivers the solution without having to bog down ports with the cumbersome notion of the X-Ray model. The logistics of implementing the X-Ray model does not meet the real needs of container security. WIFI's approach is deliverable in a far more realistic, cost effective manner," said WI-FI Chairman Gene L. Curcio".
5 July 2006: "Our Global Cargo Tracking System is getting a huge amount of interest and consideration from several world class container shipping companies, government agencies and commercial freight forwarders. Recently I was invited to Washington, D.C. to meet with a branch of the Homeland Security Agency to discuss our current technology and discovered other areas with interests that could use our technology for possible solutions to their issues. "These are exciting times for WiFi."
