...the new December Silver contract prize set at the 1225/1231 range

...the futures market traded as high as 1250 overnight and assumptions are that silver could be as high as 1500 by the end of the December quarter. Any geo-political disturbance...and the price will soar

...some fundamentals for 'Silver is Gold':

-silver is considered the rarest metal on earth
-supply grows by 3.4% annually
-demand grows by 3.8% annually
-for the last 15 years the primary deficit has been balanced by recycling, diminishing existing stock piles, as well as central banks selling table silver...there is not much left
-70% demanded for industrial use and rising...

Australian Macmin Silver is one of the few 'pure' silver mining companies worldwide and are set to start production during the 1st. quarter 2007

The silver price may well be on it's next leg up and that will be good for Macmin Silver...

Anyone else interested in Macmin?

I picked some up last week and am thinking it's a good medium to long term hold as I have a bullish outlook on silver prices.

I had a good look at MMN recently, attracted by Ag price and fact that MMN is the only "pure" Aust silver miner, the others producing it as a by-product of copper, zinc etc. and therefore a minor factor in their fortunes. I found a fairly entrenched dislike of management/directors and a history of delays and disappointments ( not uncommon with miners!) and decided not to invest.
Good luck!

Hi

MMN has certainly been a problem company with management coming under much criticism through various forums and many delays in getting to meaningful production

I am very bullish on silver medium to long term and hold a small parcel of MMNO in the hope that the company eventually gets sorted as it does seem to have potential and it does have some promising investments that may well outperform MMN by some margin

With not too much to lose --- heres hoping

Also bullish on silver and Now that MMN shares look to have bottomed at 10.5c looks good buying IMHO if they can increase production & resources going forward thing could well change to the postive

-Crazy to see the MMNO opts trading just under a 1c massive punt with ex. date not far away but ex price at 25c certainly is.

I have held MMN for several years (and still do). Their performance has been very poor due to very bad management. They have a new guy in charge now (at the mine) who looks to be sorting things out.

It could be some time before the SP takes off again as th market has been hurt by the huge stuff ups which have happened over the last couple of years. IMO They really had no idea what they were doing when they started the Texas project. For example, building a complete process plant around a technology which is not proven is not the smartest thing to do....especailly when it doesn't work. Oooops!

I suggest that you give CXC.AX a good look

Much better than MMN in my opinion

Revenue approx 67 % silver and 33 % gold

Entering a phase of large production increases

A very big silver producer which will be greatly advantaged on a rise in the silver/gold price

I guess thats what happens when you put an Optimist in charge Dave..lol

They just want things done NOW and never want to know why or how things work and it is easy for them to forget that in the real world, with real people, require real functioning equipment and not a Box of Cornflakes that has a little gizzmo that promises the world...:D
