yep up at 2.30 every morning and read the dailies before a quick check of
futures and European marekets, then a trip to
http://www.minyanville.com/
watch for sell off in the first 1/2 hour and buy watch for bull runs and sell into them.
Make most of my buys at about 10.45 EST.
Long only positions, run a portfolio of 60 stocks, 50 listed stateside, 5 nzx and 5 asx.
Never fully close positions but move the weight around as the marco environment shifts.
Presently Overweight Chile, Materials, Fianancials, and energy.
Most trades are 5-30 days so i guess i would be called a swing trader. NZX positions are 10 year view as are Chile positions.

stay calm & good luck out there

Any body trade US stocks? Yes - or to be accurate, I buy US stocks as longer-term investments. I don't trade them frequently.

Yes, me too. Used to get up really early. Now US has gone into winter time, starting about 6 to 7am gives me their afternoon trading. Hold from a few minutes to 3 or 4 days.

Hey dude if a strategy works don't change it.

Some sectors like healthcare have really sucked moving into the election in the promise of a democratic win, so there could be a play long on sold off MDT or STJ or even the dirty pharma stocks if the republicans can get through or at least hang the congress. So check your sector before plotting your vector dazza.

DAX is a canary in the coalmine for the DOW.
I know I guy who strictly trades BHP on the inequitys between exchanges and timezones.
I guess you could do this with TEL if you were inclined to telcos.
