ShareTrader 2007 NZX Trading Contest

Can you pick five stocks that will do you proud during each (or any) month of 2007? Just interested in performance (capital gain) of your five stocks each month. Dividends will not be counted.

For February a new contest will run and so on. To determine the monthly winner, each month is effectively a separate contest. You can enter the competition for one month, or any number of months. You can keep the same stocks if you wish each month or change any or all of them by the 1st trading day of the month. List the NZX codes for your picks in order of preference, in a vertical list.

Highest % gain wins. Heaps of mana and kudos and lots of bragging rights to the Monthly Winner.

Please note the rule changes from last years competition.

Rules:

1. Entries to consist of any five different equities listed on the NZSX and/or NZAX boards including derivatives such as options, warrants etc. Please give the NZX code for each stock or derivative in a vertical list, in order of preference. Each stock will be weighted as 20% of your portfolio. "Cash" is not allowed.

2. Initial entries to be posted on this thread by 8:30am on Wednesday, 3rd January 2007.

3. Contestants can change from none to all five choices each month.

4. Monthly change entries to be posted on this thread by 8:30am on the first trading day of each month. Change entries must specify the new choice and the choice that is being replaced.

5. You will be advised of your existing choices towards the end of the month. If you wish to change your entry, then create a new post with the relevant information. If no post is made you ill be deemed to have chosen the same five equities or derivatives as you did in the previous months contest.

6. Each monthly contest concludes with the last trade for each month (as determined by the Direct Broking website).

7. The opening price each months contest is the closing price from the previous month (as per the Direct Broking website). The closing price is based on the closing price of the existing choices on the last day of trading of each month (as per the Direct Broking website).

8. Splits, consolidations etc will be included as they arise and whilst I will attempt to include them it is the responsibility of contestants to ensure that none have been missed.

9. Capital repayments will effectively be re-invested by purchasing additional shares using the closing price at the record date after allowing for the payment of any income tax.

10. As this is a trading competition dividends will not be included.

11. In the event of a choice being delisted then the proceeds will be held as cash (so to speak) until the contestant provides a replacement choice as part of a monthly change entry.

12. Neither Direct Broking Limited, ABN Amro Craigs Limited, or Sharetrader Forums Limited are associated with this competition.

C-MON Who else in this competition will fly as high or sink so low. I have been so far in front with not a whisper. NZORA was 150pc up at one stage thats when i would have got out, thats my story and stickin to it so there.:D:D:Dmacdunk
