Media speculating big EW is flying back to save the Warriors, I wouldn't mind putting a few dollars on the actual reason will be to sign off GEN-i to Telecom, with a hedge on a possible Telstra purchase??!

Rugby league: Warriors confirm Anderson has quit
03.06.2004
12.00pm
The Warriors have said under fire coach Daniel Anderson has quit.
Club owner Eric Watson said Anderson had resigned and not been sacked.
He said the players were surprised but would continue their work trying to turn round a disastrous season for the Warriors.
Anderson approached the club a couple of weeks ago to discuss his future, Watson said.

Perhaps to oversee the profit-making units separated from the loss-making units?
Or maybe will announce The Warriors have bought a loss-making 3rd division invisible bankrupt English club?
Oops, scrub that.
The King is dead.

great kiwi knocking machine gets rid of one of the best coaches ever to grace NZ soil - one minute he walks on water and is quoted in every business rag... next he gets pilloried - if I was him I would walk too
Go the Raiders on Sunday

You mean there are gay players in the NZ soccer team? :D
Willy noticed that the market must be slow to have so much interest in a threat like this...lol
Keep up the good work boys.

Good to see a Hutt boy in the hotseat.
I have to say, big ups to Graham Henry. Compare his treatment of Reuben Thorne with Mitchell's treatment of Taine Randell (and before that, with Laurie Mains' treatment of G Whetton). The media love our Graham.
Now I know everyone will say `why Carlos', obvious limitations, exposure by Australia etc etc. But if you look at Carlos' record, his best performances have come in teams in which Henry has had a strong involvement. That is Auckland Blues 1995-97, and more latterly Auckland and the Blues 2001-03. Henry gets the best out of the flawed genius, no reason he can't do it again.
Too bad for Brad Thorn. If he sticks around he might come back as a replacement for Tana in 4 years. Otherwise, the Broncos will have their chequebook out.
Off to watch "NZ B" play Scotland at the stadium tomorrow night. An honorary Samoan me. Only game I've ever been to where no matter who you support, you get to wear a skirt.
Talofa!

Very much as cover though MS. He's an exciting player but I think he, Maling, Wood**** and Ralph (who's only there for Mauger) will be the four cut to reduce squad to 22 for the test. Altough he has a chance if they use Evans as 1st five cover and drop Merts.

Watson is a plonker. Made his money in a couple of complete flukes, a number of people I know who have done business with him think he is the worst a@sehole you have ever meet. Personally never met the guy, but I understand the main reason he is in the UK is for tax purposes.

Good on him if that is the case. It just exposes the NZ tax regime for what it is.

EW is not the only smelly clown that shafted minorities. There is a large list of people who have shafted minorities and some of those are still operating and still shafting minorities.
Why is our memories so short??
Lets take our greed glasses off !

Crusader, its simple mate. Tall poppys are easily sighted by the short muppets with inferiority complexes who keep talking about him on internet sites like they actually know the guy, his friends, his true character....
from what they have read and heard from OTHER people...
happens all the time tho, the world over.

He is actually a very nice bloke but that doesn't mean he gives away money in business deals!

Gee a bit of an overeaction team.
I have no problem with tall poppies. Tall poppies help grow other tall poppies. In NZ we have some very good tall poppies in the business world and some not so good ones. E.g. I find Michael Fay (who I've worked with a number of times) a nice bloke but media perception is otherwise. W Sheridan you are the first I seen to have a nice word about EW. People I know well and respect do not.
My issue with EW is more along the lines of C9 he has not been the best for minorities in NZ. People percieve him to be a huge success because he is worth loads of cash. Well to be honest money doesn't make you a nice person, though I am aware that he has had some trying times in his life what with his first wife passing away and the like. Time will tell whether I make as much wedge as EW, but I don't plan to make my first $100m trying to rip off small time shareholders.
Secondly if you examine the life and performance of most of his deals since G Print, which was a right beauty McCollum, wang, Ubix and NZ Petrol I was all acquired out of, as a result of these deals the rules were changed to how to treat minorities as they became case studies on how to sh@ft minorities.
What I would actually love to see is how much value he has created or destroyed for Shareholders over the past 10 years. I am suspect the past decade he has been up there with the former Brierley Management team.
Nope, no saving this time.....it's got to go and it's on the block for a cool $25M

One solution to the Warriors habit of slacking off in the last quarter of a game is rock salt. You build a little mai-mai back from the half way line and when the pollys go onto island time you fire a volley of rock salt into their posteriors to move them along.
I believe that rock salt becomes imbedded in the skin and hurts like hell. It dissolves however, leaving the coaching staff in the clear with the ARL by game's end.
