The link provides a report comparing various investments in Australia over 10 and 20 year periods. It was commissioned by the ASX. An excellent, easy to read report with much for one to reflect on I think.
Two things that struck me initially were:
the high out-performance of residential property over equities. Around 4% per annum excess returns for 10 and 20 years strikes me as significant and persistent[:0]
the minimal difference leverage made to ASX equity returns for an investor on a low marginal tax rate. Property of course was a different matter.
I would welcome comments.
