New Zealand the great (little) agriculture nation.
Does anyone know if we have some agriculture listed companies on the NZX that I could look into. Fontera would be great if they ever listed ... but others?, any meat companies, who exports all the sheep?,
Im looking into PGG Wrightsons
Agriculture stocks are going north - surely NZ'ers can capitalse without having to buy a farm
Cheers

Kaimai and open country cheese
Charlies orange juice :-) grow their own now !!
Umm...Tenon? Surely wood is considered agricultural. Might have to look further "a field" to the ASX, they have a lot of producers.

Turners and Growers
Pyne Gould Corp
Pumpkin Patch ( sorry about that one! - couldn't resist it.)
Seriously, this exercise points up the paucity of listed companies in the primary sector. Slightly better than listed NZ ( as opposed to Australian ) banks and insurance companies.

Does the NZX provide a breakdown of the shares contained within the Agriculture Sector Index on their website?

There are securities other than shares available in Fonterra debts and bits and bobs also through the NZX.
Some farmers look for equity partners but not sure what avenue they use to do this. Fed Farmers?
Sharemilking? ;)

I found my equity partner/farm manager by networking with rural bankers.
If interested in a significant dairy farm equity partnership, I'd suggest getting in touch with rural bankers at the coal face.......they'll all know of dairy farmers looking to move up to larger properties, sharemilkers looking to own their own farm, or small syndicates looking for additional members, etc.
