I just wanted to get some thoughts from others... Ive never got into an IPO... and theres a new oil and gas company proposing an IPO later this month... Kilgore Oil and Gas...
The broker presentation on their Website looks quite impressive with the company listing in the 3rd quarter... 8 wells are planned in the 3rd quarter with the whole portfolio of prospects expected to be drilled before years end...
thinking of having a punt on that alone...
upside case net BCFE unrisked $87.65
upside case net BCFE risked $24.64
Base case net BCFE unrisked $40.08
Base case net BCFE risked $13.51
all in US dollars...
all wells fully funded...
anyone want to tell me what they have experienced during the IPO stage?...
anyone want to comment on the companies prospects?
thanks in advance...

Hey SC, when are we catching up for lunch ?
I'd give this one "The Plunger" treatment and "Flush it" down the toilet.
Seen this all before with GOM on/off shore. Been there myself with LIO, ETE, GLX, AMU. AMU & LIO I did okay with GLX I lost a packet, but then got most of it back when the boys vended some decent assests into it. LIO/GLX dropped their GOM assets after one drill, lost a packet and got nothing (so far) for the asset firesale !!!
Kilgore (hate the name) seems remarkable similar to BCC, they've done okay, by a million to 1 chance they struck good on first outing with EXR. ETE have also done okay but frequently top the coffers.
Peter Strachan sums it up best with "Running hard to stay still" with GOM assets. The majors have picked it to bits. Fiscal's are a killer, each county has separate taxs (excl o/s), NRI reduce the Working interest with landowners backins etc. I've not looked at the prospectus mind you, so not sure on the terms, but this looks and smells like a massive risk offload to yet another ozy junior run by a bunch of accountants with a virtual company.
Take a look at one of the more successful GOM companies AMU, and they struggle !
Besides all that I might watch for a BOBN entry prior to that 17Bcf target, will put it on my calendar.

The plunger,
thanks for your informative Post...
I will give you a PM about lunch..
Ive talked to others who said this stock will be sort after, but from Yogis early predictions, perhaps suggests a soft Listing...
KOG is drilling all its prospects shortly after IPO and I guess I have to do more research as I thought this could be easier than I first thought... Could do very well for a Hype trade especially if first few wells hit....
also note, Entitlements to options at 1c with exercise price of 20cents... 1 for 1 against Heads if you get in at IPO stage...Options will be issued 3-6months after listing date...
lots of other great stocks around, so Not really sure what to do...
I really want an IPO at some stage... hummm....

Didn't notice the options, that could be a play perhaps. "Supreme Leverage"
Often with IPO's people who have never invested before just sell the options, and there are often bargains to be had the day the options list. I was the first to buy MOSO options when they listed, got a swag at 2 cents, fell to 1.5 on the day then never looked back - until I sold at 5 cents and then they went up some more... <sigh>

I suggest everybody read this post again...
its probably the best Advice I can look back and reflect on...
The Plunger,
Thankyou for warning me off Kilgore (horrible name):D... and warning me off GOM, and onshore USA in general...
That advice infact saved me years of wasted investment...
Once you said all of it, it actually made sense...
I personally cant think of One asx oiler that has majorly succeeded onshore US...even ELK is only just cash flow positive... FAR has failed their...
NWE bailed out... AKK made a meal of it... WHN done nothing... VPE sold its assets...
look at PSA... BCC... TEX... AOK wow... 9 success's from 11 before last week I think it is...
LMP made an entry, maybe ouch...
what about SAE...
When you think about it, its all about hype... these stocks arent investment material...
I cant think of one ASX stock that is cashflow positive onshore US or GOM......
many have tried, few have succeeded...
Im staying away from GOM, on/off shore US, (apart from a small punt on Catapult), and going to play with my bucks where I can make them and not lose them...
(thought I deserved a punt on Catapult) hhehehehehehe...
thanks again... what great advice...
I never bought KOG...
your advice helped me sell both WHN, and AKK at a profit... and they have both crashed since...
thank you 'the plunger'......
