HGO - free copper in 2009:D - bonus leverage to CSG in eastern star

you buy HGO low 30s, you get 44cps worth of ESG as an investment.

one of the best buys on the market right now
Copper and Gold and Silver and Coal Seam Gas

PNA offers excellent value at the moment. very sound management team who has just delivered the phu kham mine ahead of schedule and under budget. they also have a great hedge with their gold production. as income starts rolling in during this ramp up phase i expect a rerating of this stock. from the phu kham income alone, PNA is very cheap. but they also have a long list of excellent prospects that are developing well. check out the PNA thread if you are interested - and there is a very good presentation on their website. good luck with your search, dr who.

Thanks guys. I will look further into PNG and HGO this week.

I am currently keeping an eye on MRX and OGC.

I dropped OXR/ZXF from my watchlist cos I dont want any exposure to zinc. Zinc has no future and limited use in commercial sector.

Short term Zinc is no good, China has enough of it right now – however there will be a shortfall occurring around 2010-11 as a couple of big mines run out. Its being shorted hard at the moment. Copper looks OK, although a bit toppy. Money gone out of base metals in softs and oil.

I ve been doing abit of reading into copper demand and its use. With the introduction of electric powered cars and increase demand for hybrid cars, there should be an increase in demand for copper. China and India will still need a huge amount of resources to upgrade their infrastructure.

Don't be too hasty with zinc Doctor....I've seen numerous reports to indicate that zinc will bounce back rather well, but not until 2010 or maybe a bit later still.

Keep an eye out for drilling results from PDZ. Drilling should commence any tick of the clock, and their surface sampling has indicated good copper grades starting at the surface over an extended area. More details on the Prairie Downs thread.

Good luck with whichever copper play you back. ;)

OXR has unfortunately diluted its exposure to copper by merging with ZFX. The share price may however benefit as the Prominent Hill copper mine moves closer to first production. I also expect them to be taken over at some point in the future

Have a look at Copper Strike CSE
I looked at the long term copper chart the other day, and it is still going up.
