Here's an idea. Let's combine all the threads that are irrelevant to this site, i.e. Iraq, Chelsea, Is Belg Nuts, DB Law & Order etc, on to this new thread, labelled Garbage. Then all the rednecks, racists, bleeding hearts, football fanatics and assorted fruitcakes can be confined to one place - sort of a ST Guantanamo Bay - where they can rave on while we others, interested in investing, trading, making money, know we needn't waste our time on their drivel.

Now Lawso...;). This site is in the top 10 for NZ. Why? Because it has very light moderation and a free-wheeling nature. Persons like Minder et al, who are prepared to put their heads on the block with strong opinions on financial and political matters make this site rock. They stimulate debate and traffic.

However racist asshats are another matter in my book. But give them enough rope as the saying goes and they will destroy their own credibility.

So what Cap? Is the site owner actually making any money from this volume? Any potential sponsor looks at the garbage posted on the NZX site and they get put off. Remember Party Poker? Why are they no longer sponsors?

If you don't like this site DON'T LET THE DOOR HIT YOU IN THE ASS ON THE WAY OUT-- GO POST SOMEWHERE ELSE--YOU WILL BE MUCH MISSED BUT SOON FORGOTTEN. Otherwise don't complain about something you pay nothing for. Start your own forum. Look in the FAQ.

Cap - do you actually have a stake in this forum beyond being a poster like most everyone else ?
If not then take a chill pill and lets see where the balance of opinyuns lie :D

Cap, you're the pot calling the kettle black. The registration policy clearly states:

Member contributions to this forum are to be limited to the discussion of topics relevant to Investing and/or the Share Market.

Yet you violate that requirement with virtually all of your posts.

I suggest it should be you who starts your own forum. You won't be forgotten but won't be missed either.

Good God! Come on you guys. There's no need for this. Some of the most thought provoking threads on this site are not purely share-related.

Then there are others, like the "Iraq Invasion" thread, which is a soapbox purely for Belgarion to spout then listen to the sound of his own voice; hence I studiously avoid it.

Some other off-topic threads do interest me, and I read them. Everyone has that choice: whether to read a particular thread. If a thread subject doesn't interest you, then ignore it.

It takes all types to make the world go round. And free speech is a wonderful thing. Put together, these two things help us to discriminate who is really worth listening to, and who is mere noise.

So are there people on this forum who lack humility to the extent that they think there is a contributor to this forum that they can't learn something off? Rejoice in other peoples' differences and passions, don't try to make them conform.

You will be all the richer - and surely that is what this site is really about.

Please not the Site Administrator posts under the names, Belgarion, Capatalist and Minder.

Hear hear Craic for some reason the Site Administrator casts a blind eye to political threads (Belgarion), spam clone threads (Minder) and general dross (Capitalist).

All Site Admin has to do is create a general topic page and delete selected irrelevant threads on the NZX page. It would only take a few minutes of SiteAdmin's time and the message is loud and clear.

The Sharetrader ASX page is a well-run example of how it can work.

Agree, with Cap, its easy enuff to see what's off topic from the subject topic and don't read 'em. Takes a split second. I do the same with Holmes on TV, the second he comes on it's switch channels, the second his irritating lead in ads comes during newshour it's on with the mute and on with teletext.

I don't read most of Belgarion's tripe incl his answers to me and I nearly totally ignore Chelsea and I do read all the on topic's of interest to me.

If it ain't broke, don't "fix" it.
How do the complainers deal with modern life? The ads on TV? The ads on radio? The ads in newspapers and mags? The bumf thru the letterbox? The pop-up crap on the Internet? The spam on email?

I have a Shakespearian suggestion for them - "Get thee to a nunnery!"
