lousy moochers... DO IT@!

but then again I see this scheme (or the bringing back of it) as somewhat idealistic............

THE KING says as i have watch it in AUS and know people that have been on it it is really hard to say if its worth while, the young people seems to help the most but they do funny projects like paint a football oval stands and sports buildings, but bad planning and timming aways seem to be wrong.

To me it like case manager`s at work and income they really dont have a real idear what the real outside there own door whats going on, too.

To sum up sounds great keep young people doing something to the rest a waste of time and money.

Zy, try and get hold of Thomas Sowell's "The Vision of the Annointed". It's a great intellectual critique of social policy and I think you would enjoy it.

Yes and what about the jobs they destroy. These jobs need doing and somebody would normally employ somebody to do them.

Right ON ENIGMA!

The idea that Govt starts 'forcing' or 'leading' people on the dole is completely stupid from a market sense. In the US, the prisons provide 'labour' to 'companies' that allow them to undercut the indigenous populations and subsequently destroy local industries ... in effect, turning the replacement into a govt orgainisation.

The dole is, and alway should be, a 'safety net' and not a way of life. :(

therefore time limits should be imposed ( or stricter ones... I know not of i speak)

Belgarion In fact if these jobs were done there would not be the unemployment. But right wingers are not worried about clean streets etc. They might have to pay a bit more TAX,RATES or pay a bit more on wages so supposedly cutting there profits. But in reality they would make more as more money flows through the economy. As for the other side of the equasion in AUST. a Tafe Course Cost the govt even more and gets nowhere because the courses lead nowhere just give there figures a boost.

Those that have two legs and two hands have no excuse for not working, unless they are lazy. In NZ we have a opportunity to be who we want and what we want. I do support payment to those that cant help themselves, like the physically and psychologically injured, handicap, etc. But the rest should get off their lazy ass and get working.

NZ has a labour shortage, so what is the excuse?

Willy thinks Lazy people deserve nothing.
