Hi folks - has anyone any suggestions for a useful investment portfolio web site? I used to use NZ website Moneyonline, but for a long period the Oz unit trusts prices were not updated and when I looked at it recently I could not even figure how to start a new portfolio as there were no options on the revamped site to do this. A pity, as it was a very handy tool that allowed you to add your own free- format investments that you could update, as well as daily update for local and overseas shares and unit trusts. Maybe it is not running properly yet

Your broking firm should have one. If not, just use a Excel spreadsheet.

Stockmarketeye does most of what I need and the software team are receptive to comments and suggestions.

Thanks - I use a spreadsheet at present but it is a hassle having to put in current share prices and looking up unit trust prices; the Moneyonline used to do this really well; I will ring them on Tuesday to see if the updated site still works as it did previously

Thanks - I downloaded it for a trial but it seems rather complicated for my needs and I am not sure that it locates unit trust prices like Moneyonline used to do; still it looks mighty impressive

google.com.finance is very good, it is free and updates immediately.
Another one you pay for, NZ based is www.ShareSight.co.nz

Money OnLine stopped their service about a year ago. I used to use it too, and it was a great, easy to use site.
I had a few emails and conversations with MOL about the service being stopped and was told it was too costly for them to keep going, but they may think of offering a user pays version of it. That has never happened, and I guess wont, after a year of inactivity. I got the feeling they just wanted to get people into the (paid) McEwen Investment Report. Which is fair enough, as they are a business, but I certainly miss the On Line Portfolio Manager.
I now just use a spreadsheet, which is not near as convenient, but on the upside, it stops me checking the values every day, which reminds me that there is a lot more to life than worrying about a few cents up or down, here and there-probably a good thing!
I update the spreadsheet about once a month for my total portfolio value, and use direct broking to check daily movements. I don't have too many shares, so it's not much of a hassle.

I've just gone to the MOL site for the first time in ages. It has changed, and I no longer seem to have an account! I was speaking to IRG last week and they never mentioned it which seems a bit strange as it was something I asked about several times when they stopped the old portfolio service.
Unfortunately I have found a lack of communication to be common (they are quick to communicate some things-pushing Vision which has just gone into recievership for example-but not oh, and Vision have gone into recievership, sorry about keeping sending you emails about investing) . I'm sure it wouldn't have been hard for them to send an email to everyone on their books to say we are changing things. Have a look and re register if you want..........

Thanks Grimy - I found my portfolio had disappeared too and even though I re-registered I could not figure out how to set up my portfolio; as I said before, maybe the site is not fully functional, although it certainly has a new look to it, so some work must have been done on the web site. I think there was some issue with them being charged for the updates from the Oz unit trusts.

Thanks Voltage - the Google site seems great from my initial look; ShareSight is probably a bit too high powered for me.
