Good Man!!! [8D]
I picked up some at the start of the week at $1.69, so fingers crossed that your ramp is successful ;)

Second overhang out of the way - this is going much much higher.[:p][:p][:p]
More news to come out on paying Australian imputation credits - takes gross yield in Australia to 11%.

$1.75 ...but this has been a hard ramp so far .....[xx(]
Still, fund managers are buying and Minder knows that he will extract $1.80 out of this little beauty. :D:D

O Master of the Universe we are truly unworthy that your calls produce returns that are as good as cash in the bank. Why have cash in a lousy AAA rated bank when I can invest my dinaris based on hot tips from this supreme being with an AAAAAA++++++ rating.

Ah ...you little unworthy grasshopper with the twitchiness of a mountain cat with a litter of kittens in a desert sandstorm, glance you not at the sand which is blown by the storm. For the sand, it hides the wind that blows the sand which makes the sandstorm.
And the wind is the force, unworthy one, not the sand.
Now you savvy? ;)

I am truly honoured that you have replied to my unworthy message, o Lion of the Gulf. But do I detect winds of change, o Return of the Jedi?

CAV 144 dealers NZ wide.
Aim for the quality market
FTX 10 dealers in NZ wide.
Aim for the commercial market
Both good bets in an unfavourable sector of the market for Mister Anallist.

The trend towards hard surface flooring (wood, wood equivalent, ceremic etc) appears to be increasing especially in the residential sector. Commercial carpet usage seems to be trending towards synthetic or synthetic/wool blend.
Feltex maybe on the right tack.
Just some musing.

O Master of the Universe I have noted that since you started this Feltex ramp thread the change in share price has nearly produced a return I would have made by putting money into a Japanese bank account and for my -2.5% return I am truly unworthy.
I will follow and obey your every call and hope I can continue earning -2.5%.
Like you, I am also waiting for Feltex to reach $1.80 and I will wait 10 years, 20 years, or an eternity to get this price because these calls come from a divine source.

You poor little grasshopper with wings clipped with southerly frost on a summer's night dew fall, please don't tell us that you did not enjoy the glow of summer's brightness and feast upon the nectar of the bees' diligent gathering of summer's bounty.
In other words, did you not take your gains when they are there? ;)
This is a ramper's paradise, designed to tranfer wealth from those eager to learn to those who are learned.
Now, consign this lesson into your after-consiousness so you will not be ramped again. You truly are a master's dream. :D

I hear and obey, o Horseman of the Apocolypse. Your words of wisdom are truly great and I should have sensed from your clairvoyant powers that it was time to sell before the profit announcement.

Could I have some honest opinions re this company. Am thinking it could be a good mid to long term investment. Rampers please desist from commenting (now I wonder if anyone will reply!!);)

One reply as requested.
[I was tempted to say you wish is my command etc, but I will leave that sort of stuff to the screaming Abdabs :)]
Well currently trading at a P/E of about 10 on next years forecast and with a gross dividend yield of about 10%.
I think that the earnings can hold up over the next few years Feltex having reasonable exposure to the commercial market and the P/E will stretch out to 11-12 in time. Also 6cps divvy for last year coming up next month.
So in summary.
Good yield at current price, share price to go up slowly by 20% over a couple of years.
Nothing spectacular but I see little risk to it. Definite mid to long term stock.

As a smallish FTX holder, I go along with PT's assessment. Pretty boring stock, really, not much s p movement and modest volumes, but nothing to worry about if you're a holder. Note that NZ Herald's share tables, compiled by Metra, put the P/E at 22.31, making the same mistake as they do with FRE by working on half-year earnings only.

Construction sector slowing could impact on FTX revenue.

Todays 157 is all time low and still showing plenty of weakness
Unloved and unwanted is not a good place to be for a stock

You're right, winner. No one seems to be keen on this stock, even though its FY04 result and 05 forecasts are in line with prospectus. Macquarie recommendation (25.8.04) is neutral/neutral (short/long term). "FTX is currently fairly priced and is expected to perform in line with the NZ market."
But no reason that I know of for the current weakness.

PS. Minder, you started this thread. How about changing its title?

Sorry, seems to have been the kiss of death for FTX. :(
I can find absolutely no reason at all, for this slide. Just seems to be investor nervousness on a boring stock.
On the bright side the lower it goes, the higher the yield and the better a buy it becomes :).
Once the slide appears to have ended I will seriously consider buying some if I have any loose change going spare. [:p]

I am keen on this stock. Not that the opinions of a JUNIOR member are worth much.
But isn't better to do what the herd isn't?

We were all junior once [:I]. Once you get to thirty posts you get promoted [8D]. You could start your own rmbbrave promotion thread an post like mad into if you are in a hurry [V].
What you should do is up to you, of course, but if you mean buy because others are selling and vice versa that is probably a good riches to rags technique. Diving share prices can continue downwards long after they should have turned for all sorts of reasons.
For me I have done my research and thought that this was an OK stock with a good yield but no great growth prospects. I think that it is currently oversold and the share price will recover gently once it hits bottom. For the moment I watch and wait. I may or may not buy in ONCE IT HAS TURNED if I think I make a reasonable return on it.
cheers

Well if you actually qualified WHY you are keen on it .....
