Retroviral Display(TM) technology permits the discovery of 'drug-like' compounds which bind to cell receptors of the tryosine kinase family (C-erbB) that are overexpressed on the surface of cancer cells and are associated with growth or progression of many forms of cancer.
The gene responsible for production of C-erbB is overexpressed in 25% of breast cancers. The growth factor Heregulin is used as a "decoy" in the assay:

2. BIOFOCUS PLC--HEREGULIN PROJECT
July 11, 2001: International strategic alliance & Joint Venture signed. A Strategic Alliance and unincorporated 50:50 Joint Venture with BioFocus plc (BioFocus), a leading UK based drug discovery and chemistry provider, has secured for Australian Cancer Technology Limited (Au stCancer) a pipeline of potential treatments for cancer.
BioFocus have developed an innovative and proprietary cell based ssay technology, "Retroviral Display(TM)" which permits the discovery of "drug-like" compounds which bind to cell receptors of the tryosine kinase family (C-erbB) that are overexpressed on the
