Does anyone know who got kicked off Apprentice last night - I missed the show?
Also, are Region 1 DVD's the same as Zone 1? The reason I ask is The Apprentice is available from Amazon next month but only in Region 1 format. Does any one know if you can play Region 1 in NZ and Aus?
Oh, and the sharemarket connection - Trump Hotels is listed.

Just type 'apprentice' into google. Comes up top of the list.
yes region 1 is the same as zone 1...
but DVD protection is a failed technology...so the zones dont really mean much.

If you're dumb enough to enter a thread that is clearly labelled with the name of a TV program don't complain if you find out more than you wanted. :(
I would have taken you for a smarter cookie than that Bongo ;)

If you used what little brain you obviously have F you might have had the manners not to post the winner here until the show was over.
The intelligent ones amoungst us have discussed this programme here before(it is the first time for me and I missed the show for the first time on Tues too)without revealing the winner.
Like I said above, go make love with yourself, Bongo

Hey Bongo you fat F#ck why don't you waddle down to Mitre 10, buy a hammer and some wood and build a bridge and get over it. The fact is reality TV is for a r s e s and its only a r s e s like you who watch it. Thus making the TV networks think people want to watch this rubbish. With the end result being me sitting on the couch flicking from one reality TV show to the next trying to find something decent to watch.
Take a chill pill fool I'll delete the post.........

Spec... most modern DVD players play multi zone DVDs, so it doest mater what zoning the DVD is from. How old is your DVD player?
It doesnt mater how good or not you are, if Trump likes you, you are in his club.

Spec... check out the model number and ring the retail outlet you bought it from to ask them if it is multi zone dvd. The model number should be at the back of the dvd player. If it is only 1 year old it should play multi zones. The reason for zoning was so that we dont buy copied dvds, but these days you can copy dvds from your computer.

Some repair shops will make 'zoned' DVD players 'multi-zoned' for a nominal charge if you ask.

Another simple test would be to rent a cheap non region 4 dvd and see if it plays.
One problem you might find is that many region 1 (USA) dvds are NTSC format and you might have problems with that anyway.

PS - even if your DVD does NTSC your tv may not so that's something else to check.

You have to admire the chutzpah of this guy, if nothing else... from www.newsmax.com
Donald Trump, who picked up $50,000 per show last season, now wants a modest raise to $18 million per episode of his runaway hit show "The Apprentice."
The real estate mogul turned TV star based his $18 million demand on the salaries paid to the six actors in "Friends," who each got about $1.5 million per show.
Trump's math: Since the Donald is the only star of his show, as far as he can tell, he figures he's entitled to $1.5M x 6, or $9 million.
Then he realized that his show runs a full hour and "Friends" runs for only half hour, so he is not facetiously asking for $18 million a show.
He won't be getting it, of course.
Sources told the Wall Street Journal that Trump's take will be in the six figure range, not the eight figures he demanded.
Trump isn't alone is climbing on the gravy train reality shows are turning out to be.
"So much for cheap reality-show talent," the Journal observed, adding that in a mere few seasons "reality programming has gone from a genre known for austere budgets to Hollywood's newest money pit."
"It's the new gravy train," Dean Valentine, the former president of Walt Disney TV told the Journal.
