Does anyone subscribe to their monthly updates?

I've read a lot of books by both these guys and the information is invaluable.

Why does it seem that these theories come out when the market is falling but are never mentioned when the market is rising?

yes I subscribe to a couple of EWI publications. They are somewhat pessimistic - which is something of an understatement heheh
And they havent timed very well this year but those who say they are perma-bears arent correct as Prechter told everyone there would a huge rally from Feb 2009 and to cover their shorts. Its a bit difficult to use their information to trade with when their time frames involve grand super cycles though (hundreds of years) but I find the big picture interesting too.
I dont believe Elliot Wave Theory is a totally useful predictive tool (waves extend etc) but it does offer a guide with clear cut-off points which can be incorporated into trading systems.
I like their approach regarding social mood and socionomics etc.

Never heard of Harry dent though.

Yea just wondering that they are long term trends so don't know how the monthly forecast is beneficial. Maybe just stick to reading their books they seem to put out every 5-10 years instead as they aren't particularly good at short term trends. They even say themselves they can't predict the short term.

the theory is that it works at all time frames right down to the minutes ....

kizame - Elliot Wave theory has been around for decades. its always been there. I used to borrow the monthly newsletters off the director of the broking firm I worked for in the 80's when I first started working.
