I see that volume has been massive today and accompanied by a 6.2% increase on yesterdays close. Short-term trend busted too.

Are BGR due to release a quarterly sales update for the June quarter anytime soon?

Could be that the change in the sales mix/margins could be working.

Disc. Hold BGR

The word from Macquarie Equities this morning was 1) WHS their top pick for the next 12 months (which I've posted on the WHS thread) and 2) "for the next three months Briscoes looks oversold".

Interesting that both stocks rocketed ahead today.

Lawso, The analyst from Macquarie has been saying that for the last 4-5 months, so nothing new.

Can't quite work this one out.

I went to Briscoes on Sunday just gone, and purchased a couple of sheet sets for my boy but got the wrong colour. They were on special from $60 down to $35.

I took them back yesterday to get changed, no problem, completed a form for a refund, got the new sheets, and they put them throught the till, and asked me for my card. I thought this was a bit strange, but handed it over and they gave me a further $12 credit.

So in essience, all I wanted was the correct colour sheet, but because of the internal processess, I now have the correct colour along with a further $12 I did not have before.

Not bad is it.

The strangest part is making you fill in a form. The administration costs this creates will have cost them well more than the $12 refund you enjoyed. Reads like a very broken process to me.

Ah, but if you don't spend time filling in those forms all the time for every last stupid thing you do, how can the "change gurus" assess the "gain" from their new "efficiency" measures[?]
