I think that I can recall a discussion on data feeds previously but cannot find any reference when searching so has anyone heard of Freelivequotes or received the following email or similar and if so has any taken up the offer? To my thinking it sounds suspect as they would incur ongoing costs which would over time make this venture unprofitable, thanks for any assistance.

Hi

Were you aware that here is absolutely no need to pay monthly or annual data access fees. Many investors pay hundreds and hundreds of dollars or even more every year unnecessarily for expensive and limited data. If you are stuck in this trap then you are going to love this website.

I have found an awesome new data product that is quite seriously a "must have" for investors. No kidding, you are not going to believe how powerful it is.

For FreeLiveQuotes members there is a one time only data fee and it is staggeringly cheap (less than most vendors charge for just a year's data). Once you install the downloader you have unlimited access to a massive range of financial market data.

Not only is the ASX completely covered but over 50 international exchanges are included as well. Better yet everything you could possibly want to trade is covered;

Shares
Options
Warrants
Stock Futures
FOREX
Mutual Funds
Corporate Bonds
With coverage like this, even if you are locked into a data contract at the moment, you will want to get this product now as your market reach will be mind-blowing.

This software seamlessly integrates with all the major charting programs such as MetaStock, TradeStation, EzyCharts and heaps more. All the information is available at www.datafeed.com.au along with the details of a sensational deal for FreeLiveQuotes members.

Incredible coverage and an unreal price, what more could you need. If you want to break out of the monthly data feed cycle today, the answer is at www.datafeed.com.au

Thanks TheKiwi I had tried various combinations of words etc but obviously not the correct one. Looks like they are doing the rounds once again, for myself I am going to stay with my current data supplier.

aot till now was the best unless you can use Iress direct which costs about 800 per month
aot can give you a test drive using 20 min delayed data
worth looking at on a slow day
if you do not trade with them , they arent very helpfull
and since I use a full service broker, I dont need this service
hsbc is apparently a very similar copy to what aot produce
so for me its either aot hsbc(will have a look), or straight to iress sick of dodgy data etc
and slowed feeds
ps If you dont trade with aot the price rises to 220 a month with hsbc it is flat 77 which is what aot charged until recently
trade well

I think we are talking about different things.

For users of Metastock / Tradestation etc etc a "Data Feed" is a set of data which is delivered to your personal machine which will allow you to urn Explorations across the ASX etc.

This is different from say AOT which is an application (charting, Market Depth, Announcements etc etc) whch in itselfs uses a live data feeed, but the data isn't available for "other applications"

No sorry, Metastock isn't just after market download.
Metastock is an application which charts price/time data. There are various variants of Metastock, some of which are deisgned ot use a LIve datafeed.
Personally I just use the standard Metastock ... BUT .... it can be used with intraday data as well.

What we are talking about is a "data feed". For example I use dataHQ.com.au which provides snapshot data every hour straight into Metastock. So we have a "data feed" and a "programme" to analyse it (Metastock, Tradestation etc).
