Donnie, you post on HC and indeed promoted the stock there.
Others talked about the record of the Chairman, Alister Cowden.
Didn't you see that post referring to him; it was on the same short thread you promoted AAQ?
Could you agree to tell this thread something about it?

Time to update me thinks: [:p]
Australis is on track to be cash-flow positive this year.
To develop a niche in America’s $50bn-a-year seafood market, initial production has been directed through good restaurants, 400 supermarkets and trials in chain restaurants. A coup was scored at the White House recently when President Bush hosted a dinner for John Howard. The main course was Australis’ barramundi.
Australis shares are fairly tightly held, with 58 million on issue of which 15.97 million issued to promoters and directors have been held in escrow for two years. They will become freely tradeable from August 4, so there may be opportunities for buyers if some of them get into the market.
Most sales in the past year have been due to impatience by long-term small investors. Institutional investors also seem to like the story. In March, State One Stockbroking placed 3.5 million shares at 40˘ to professional investors to raise $1.4m to accelerate the company’s market development. The largest shareholders are Acorn Capital (14%), chairman Graham (13.1%) and State One Capital (8.7%).

Catch of the day
Wednesday, June 20, 2007
A fish producer is scaling up and promising big net earnings, as our portfolio races towards a 100% gain in just six months.
This week's SPECULATOR is into fishy business, but we can be almost certain that our locally listed barramundi farmer Australis Aquaculture (ASX code: AAQ) - the one and only grower in the US - is going to be a winner in the world fishing "comp" with expansion now into Vietnam.
As the international wild fish catch continues to plummet in future years, the only answer to increasing consumer demand will be farmed fish with advanced operators such as Australis reeling in the catch.
I nearly choked on my beer when a group of high-powered Australis executives bailed me up in a Sydney pub recently and cast a net of sobering piscatorial statistics over the evening.
How serious is this impending crisis? According to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), 2.6 billion people, or two in every five people on the planet, depend on fish as their primary source of animal protein. The FAO records that total world fish production increased steadily from 19.3 million tonnes in 1950 to more than 100 million tonnes in 1989 and 157.5 million tonnes in 2005. In 1950, wild capture fisheries made up 96.5% of total world production, with aquaculture producing the remaining 3.5%.
The distribution has changed dramatically, however, with wild capture fisheries now making up just 60% and aquaculture 40% of total world production (by volume) and a rapidly increasing contribution. Of total fish production, about 75% goes to human food, with the remainder used for non-food products, in particular the manufacturing of fishmeal and oil for use in animal feeds. Those statistics have been gathered together in a recent study on global fisheries prepared by Perth-based State One Stockbroking, which backed the initial float of Australis in August 2004, with a capital raising of $5.5m on an over-subscribed prospectus.
The funds were used to acquire America's largest indoor fish-producing facility at Turner Falls, Massachusetts, 90 minutes west of Boston. The plant was modified and expanded according to company-held patents to replicate the habitat of barramundi and develop a niche in America's $US50bn ($60bn) a year seafood market. The company has initially targeted up-market restaurants; the fish are now also available in 400 supermarket outlets. Production has been lifted from 700 tonnes a year in 2006 to reach a targeted 1000 tonnes a year by October 2007, with 1 million fish now growing in its tanks. The company claims those stocks can support annual sales of $10m, but it says US demand is such that Australis could sell many times its current production into mid-high value markets.
The Speculator first bought into Australis at 40c ( B, August 8, 2006) after the company scored an impressive PR coup. Shortly beforehand, Prime Minister John Howard was guest of honour at a George Bush state dinner at the White House, and Australis manoeuvred to have its barramundi on the table as the main course. It was a good catch. We held the shares until the end of 2006 then cashed them out at 57c. Now it's time to buy in again.
Last week, State One managed another $8m capital raising for Australis with a share placement to professional investors of 16 million at 50c each, subject to shareholder approval at a meeting to be called for late July. Shareholders registered by June 21 will also be offered an entitlement to subscribe for up to $5000 worth of new shares at 50c each.
While the placement was being arranged, shares in Australis were temporarily suspended with a last sale of 56c. On June 14, when they relisted last week, they traded between 56c and 52c with a close of 53.5c. Readers with hopes of figuring in the entitlement should check their eligibility with their brokers.

Being in the industry this is a stock I am interested in and hold - so imagine my surprise today when checking the ASX announcements to ascertain dates etc for the SPP (assuming my docs will be late getting here to NZ maybe leaving me not much time to accept) only to find that the SPP is for holders with a registered address in Australia only !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In my experience it is normal for ASX SPP's to be for Australian [u]and</u> New Zealand holders - why the difference this time? I have participated in a couple this year for ASX holdings - AWE and DYL.
I have emailed the company so hopefully will get a respinse soon.
In the meantime, any other NZ holders it appears we cannot participate!
Any comments welcomed.

that is a bit of a shoker, normally other countries are excluded due to compliance costs in documentation and small number of applicable shareholders, but NZ is always in due to easy compliance and higher number of shareholders.

It appears this was an 'oversight' - albeit a costly one for us Kiwi Shareholders!
The company have advised:
Hi the plan unfortunately was only made available to Aussie resident shareholders – apologies, we will ensure that this does not occur for future offerings.
