What do you think of ASB's latest debt offer?

Over at www.goodreturns.co.nz I read some interesting comments which suggested be wary, very wary of these types of instruments.

Go into an ASB branch and ask for a prospectus, if the offer is still open.

I have as ASB sharedealing account so rang fixed interest sharedealing and asked why they didn't inform their customers of the offer. Was told they didn't have enough stock to meet demand. Buy them in the market if you want some.
