Here's a good book on the argument for passive investing if you're interested..

"But in 2014's letter "To the Shareholders of Berkshire Hathaway Inc.," (page 20) Buffett revealed his instructions in his will to the trustee for his wife's benefit: "Put 10% ... in short-term government bonds and 90% in a very low-cost S&P 500 index fund. (I suggest Vanguard’s.) I believe the trust’s long-term results from this policy will be superior to those attained by most investors – whether pension funds, institutions or individuals – who employ high-fee managers."

As I have only recently returned to the sharemarket after a break of a few years, I tried to choose mainly solid investments with good returns, followed by potential growth stacks, and a small dabble in a speculative one.
65% are in the energy sector, as that is the area I know the best.
Its been a while since this thread has been active and I found it interesting to see how my portfolio has changed in over 18 months. Currently I have:
AIR
HLG
GNE
HBL
SKL
STU
CEN
IFT
SCL
SEK
MCY
THL
MEL
NWF
I intend to increase MEL, THL and STU in the near future.

Thanks for sharing!
I'm relatively new here too. Have some posts to relevant threads of my holdings listed below:
My current list goes by those I'm most happy to be holding (perceived risk and value gain) ....
1. SUM, THL,
2. HBL, EBO, AUG
3. TIL, CVT, FPH,
...and some high risk penny-dreadfuls with dreams they go ballistic one day with a lotto-like return I can retire on...
4. PIL, PEB, ...and I hate admitting this, MAD !!! (I musta been .... !)
