Both the English document and the Mãori document form the Treaty. The doubt is magnified because there are two documents together forming the Treaty. The British treated the Māori version as a translation but unfortunately it was not an accurate translation (and it was couched in language that would be more likely to get Māori acquiescence?). So the pre-treaty discussions are needed for interpretation purposes.

At the Kohimarama Conference of 1860 it was clear that the Maori Chiefs recognised they had ceded sovereignty to the Queen.

Water rushing beneath Wellington footpath as sinkhole opens up

A Leak & large sinkhole hole reported to Tory's Mayoral Missing Leaks line

must be one of the few reports that got through the vetting & reject process ..

at least something is working ..

She said patching the leaks in the network was like a game of “whack-a-mole”
interesting stance from a water staffer .. do they get lots of moles around Welly ?

Government and councils agree to kill $7.4b Wellington transport plan

The new Government and Wellington’s city and regional councils have agreed to put the city’s beleaguered Let’s Get Wellington Moving plan out of its misery - agreeing in principle to dissolve the scheme entirely and move on.

The agreement was reached by Infrastructure and Housing Minister Chris Bishop, Transport Minister Simeon Brown, Mayor of Wellington Tory Whanau and chairman of Greater Wellington Regional Council Daran Ponter.

At the election, National campaigned on pulling out of the scheme, a regional transport deal between central and local government to build several integrated transport projects. Under the deal, the cost of those projects would have split the $7.4 billion cost of 60-40 between councils and central government.
Good to see this hopeless orchestration being given the "move on out the window"

Of course this was to be expected from the elves down the bottom of the garden:

The city’s two Green MPs have slammed the decision, noting the city handed the party two electorates at the most recent election.

Lower Hutt residents should ‘stop pooing’ if they want to stop the city stinking - advisor

Lower Hutt’s council have been advised to “stop pooing” if they want to stop a terrible stench wafting across the region in time for a highly-anticipated music festival.

The Seaview wastewater treatment plant is the source of the stink, and those in the area say it’s so terrible it makes them gag.

In a November council meeting, Mayor Campbell Barry asked what could be done to minimise the pong before thousands of people descend on the Hutt for Juicy Fest - which international superstars T-Pain and Ashanti are set to headline.

Stuff reports strategic advisor Bruce Hodgins said people could “stop pooing”.

Why not just head off into Welly just down the road ?

No Poo smell leakage problem there - they prob turn all it Green into Compoost .. and are used to the smell of BS

Wellington Water employee boasts about doing ‘no work’, investigation launched

An investigation has been launched after a Wellington Water employee boasted on social media she spends her work days lounging on the couch, catching up with friends and going to the movies.

The now-deleted clip, titled “Council Engineer - Challenge one day slacking off and do no work. Making money while I play” has left people outraged as Wellington faces a major water crisis.

Things seem to have migrated away from Mayoral Leaks to Delinquent Lazy B*m slackers parked up on couches at a huge cost and skiting about it

The Bl**dy great showing just continues on for the WCC Local Body Empires

Mayor Tory Whanau defends council’s handling of leaks crisis

Wellington Mayor Tory Whanau has defended the council’s commitment to fixing the city’s leaking water pipes after the Government questioned whether it was “willing or able” to address the crisis.

In a statement responding to a sternly worded demand for information from Local Government Minister Simeon Brown, Whanau outlined the work Wellington City Council is undertaking to fix water issues in the city and blamed previous administrations for the crisis.

Ooops .. A Leak from Mayor's Office @ Wellington Council on fixing their vast collection of Water Leaks ?

Still not fixed already - Tory ?

Just remember - the Beehive Boys & Girls just down the road just need to have peek out the window on the progress
