TV3 news ran an item on a Wellington City Council proposal.
Tory must have been busy at the gym, so
Te Kaunihera, Laurie Foon (female) fronted.
They want to treble parking costs for SUVs in Wellington.
That could keep a few Remuera tractors out of the capital.
They're a Green mob down there.
Julie Ann must be loving it!

Green mob and green parasites too - sucking resources from the rest of the country to feed ever more (and ever less productive) civil servants & consultants.
Just have to look at the water supply disaster which had been unfolding year by year until now it is at crisis point.

Wellington City Council spent $43,000 on Mayor Tory Whanau’s hunt for leaker
Wellington City Council spent $43,000 on an investigation launched by Mayor Tory Whanau into the conduct of five of her councillors.
The cost has been revealed as the council’s budget comes under pressure from more expensive problems like leaking pipes. Residents could potentially face a 15.4 per cent rates increase next year to make up for historical underinvestment in infrastructure.
The code of conduct probe was launched last year after Deputy Mayor Laurie Foon complained her colleagues leaked commercially sensitive information about a deal to buy the land underneath the shut-up Reading Cinema complex on Courtenay Place.
High-profile lawyer Linda Clark was appointed to undertake the review and found there was insufficient evidence to identify who leaked confidential information.
One Mayoral Leak (Only $43K) chasing another at hefty cost .. not very well
What a waste of time .. what got achieved ?
Only in Wellington - folks
Yet more to chuck on the Ratepayers' Tab along with a fair dallop for the real Leaks springing up around the city
The way things are going, the real leaks are probably springing up faster than than the Wellington Local Body shufflers can identify & catalogue them all ..

Leak loses an estimated 300k litres as Wellington Water battles torrent of new leaks
Wellington Water say leaks were increasing faster than they were being fixed, with 284 detected in the first week of February, but only 206 being repaired.
One local estimates over 300,000 litres had gone to waste on their street alone.

Not a whimper out of the Office for Wellington Mayoral Leaks over this ?
Are the whole Mayoral Dept all still away on holiday or busy counting the leaks ?

One of the major problems with fixing Wellington's water leaks is, leaks relieve water pressure in a pipe, so once they repair a leak in a pipe, it increases the pressure everywhere else in the old pipes, causing it to burst in new places.
You can never catch up. The more they repair, the more new leaks are going to spring up.

Welington Mayor Tory Whanau admits secrecy around cinema deal went on too long
Wellington Mayor Tory Whanau has admitted the secrecy around the $32 million Reading Cinema deal went on for too long.
The deal is finally set to be discussed in public later this week after every councillor the Herald spoke to on Saturday indicated support for it to be aired.
The cinema building was closed in early 2019 after an earthquake risk was discovered and it has since become a symbol of the tired state of Courtenay Pl - a street that has traditionally been a key part of the nightlife and entertainment offering in Wellington.
The deal has always been discussed behind closed doors due to commercial sensitivity but details were first leaked in October 2023 and have since been widely circulated in the public domain.
The council plans to buy the land beneath the building for $32m, money which the cinema chain would use to strengthen the building and reopen the cinema and later have the option of buying the land back at the sale price, the Herald understands.
Whanau said she genuinely thought Wellingtonians would be happy with the deal.
“The reality is we’ve got this monstrosity of a building on Courtenay Place. It’s derelict. For me, it’s a symbol of where Courtenay Place is heading. We need that to be redeveloped and this will do that.”
