Why does a socialist raise taxes here there and everywhere and interfere with capital markets in a draconian way ? For the same reason.
Any wonder business confidence is in the toilet ? Those that reckon business confidence will rebound soon are dead wrong in my opinion.
Rising oil prices might be GNE's savior...definitely seem to be headed higher with Brent over $75 this morning. Quarterly result was a good one as was the last quarters' result so maybe people are getting a little carried away hammering GNE down this low ?

Did have a little bit of a look at buying into ether GNE or possibly MEL not so long ago but decided in the end to hold off to see what happens with the govt review.

Decided to buy some NZM instead, great Divi and with this Govt constantly in the news for something that has to be good for the news business at the moment !

I hold NZM for the yield too mate, outstanding yield and as you suggest there's plenty of noise from this left wing coalition experiment that passes for a Government.
    Bob each way for me.

I think the Coalition Government were surprised at the blow-back they got for the oil and gas offshore exploration ban.

I expect them to be more cautious meddling in electricity supply. Of course despite any caution they could still make a pigs breakfast of it.

I recently brought back into GNE.Had them at issue, then sold.Never been happy with The Chair,so today's announcement that Barbara Chapman will take over in October is good news to me.

Couldn't agree more. I have held for what seems like forever. Good safe yield.

As a customer, I recently had a complete cluster with Genesis. I emailed the CEO - got an email back within an hour (OK might have been from the PA, but still). Came back to me further when he (or the PA) had looked at it. I was impressed that hadn't just been passed off.
