Brainchip Holdings - Thought i would bring this to your attention

We are looking at the Worlds first and autonomous learning technology -

1) Patented in 2008 by Peter Van Der Made
They currently talking with fortune 500 companies about developments and Joint venture opportunities

2) Essentially BRAINCHIP replicates the biological behaviour of the human brain and uses 1/1000 of the consumption of power - The name of 3) The technology is SNAP (spiking neuron ADAPTIVE PROCESSOR )
Validated by some of the worlds pre- eminent neuroscientists

Spiking Neuron Adaptive Processor (SNAP)

BrainChip’s inventor, Peter van der Made, has created an exciting new Spiking Neural Networking technology that has the ability to learn autonomously, evolve and associate information just like the human brain. The technology is developed as a digital design containing a configurable “sea of biomimic neurons’.

The technology is fast, completely digital, and consumes very low power, making it feasible to integrate large networks into portable battery-operated products, something that has never been possible before.

BrainChip neurons autonomously learn through a process known as STDP (Synaptic Time Dependent Plasticity). BrainChip’s fully digital neurons process input spikes directly in hardware. Sensory neurons convert physical stimuli into spikes. Learning occurs when the input is intense, or repeating through feedback and this is directly correlated to the way the brain learns.

“Peter’s technology has the ability to learn autonomously and evolve.
It operates at the speed of the brain and has low power consumption.”
– Dr. Nick Spitzer, Director, Kavli Institute, California
Computing Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs)
The brain consists of specialized nerve cells that communicate with one another. Each such nerve cell is called a Neuron,. The inputs are memory nodes called synapses. When the neuron associates information, it produces a ‘spike’ or a ‘spike train’. Each spike is a pulse that triggers a value in the next synapse. Synapses store values, similar to the way a computer stores numbers. In combination, these values determine the function of the neural network. Synapses acquire values through learning.

In Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) this complex function is generally simplified to a static summation and compare function, which severely limits computational power. BrainChip has redefined how neural networks work, replicating the behaviour of the brain. BrainChip’s artificial neurons are completely digital, biologically realistic resulting in increased computational power, high speed and extremely low power consumption.

The Problem with Artificial Neural Networks
Standard ANNs, running on computer hardware are processed sequentially; the processor runs a program that defines the neural network. This consumes considerable time and because these neurons are processed sequentially, all this delayed time adds up resulting in a significant linear decline in network performance with size.

BrainChip neurons are all mapped in parallel. Therefore the performance of the network is not dependent on the size of the network providing a clear speed advantage. So because there is no decline in performance with network size, learning also takes place in parallel within each synapse, making STDP learning very fast.

A hardware solution
BrainChip’s digital neural technology is the only custom hardware solution that is capable of STDP learning. The hardware requires no coding and has no software as it evolves learning through experience and user direction.

The BrainChip neuron is unique in that it is completely digital, behaves asynchronously like an analog neuron, and has a higher level of biological realism. It is more sophisticated than software neural models and is many orders of magnitude faster. The BrainChip neuron consists entirely of binary logic gates with no traditional CPU core. Hence, there are no ‘programming’ steps. Learning and training takes the place of programming and coding. Like of a child learning a task for the first time.

Software ‘neurons’, to compromise for limited processing power, are simplified to a point where they do not resemble any of the features of a biological neuron. This is due to the sequential nature of computers, whereby all data has to pass through a central processor in chunks of 16, 32 or 64 bits. In contrast, the brain’s network is parallel and processes the equivalent of millions of data bits simultaneously.

A significantly faster technology
Performing emulation in digital hardware has distinct advantages over software. As software is processed sequentially, one instruction at a time, Software Neural Networks perform slower with increasing size. Parallel hardware does not have this problem and maintains the same speed no matter how large the network is. Another advantage of hardware is that it is more power efficient by several orders of magnitude.

The speed of the BrainChip device is unparalleled in the industry.

For large neural networks a GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) is ~70 times faster than the Intel i7 executing a similar size neural network. The BrainChip neural network is faster still and takes far fewer CPU (Central Processing Unit) cycles, with just a little communication overhead, which means that the CPU is available for other tasks. The BrainChip network also responds much faster than a software network accelerating the performance of the entire system.

The BrainChip network is completely parallel, with no sequential dependencies. This means that the network does not slow down with increasing size.

Endorsed by the neuroscience community
A number of the world’s pre-eminent neuroscientists have endorsed the technology and are agreeing to joint develop projects.

BrainChip has the potential to become the de facto standard for all autonomous learning technology and computer products.

Patented
BrainChip’s autonomous learning technology patent was granted on the 21st September 2008 (Patent number US 8,250,011 “Autonomous learning dynamic artificial neural computing device and brain inspired system”). BrainChip is the only company in the world to have achieved autonomous learning in a network of Digital Neurons without any software.

A prototype Spiking Neuron Adaptive Processor was designed as a ‘proof of concept’ chip.

The first tests were completed at the end of 2007 and this design was used as the foundation for the US patent application which was filed in 2008. BrainChip has also applied for a continuation-in-part patent filed in 2012, the “Method and System for creating Dynamic Neural Function Libraries”, US Patent Application 13/461,800 which is pending.

APPLICATIONS:

FIRST STAGE DEVELOPMENT APPLICATIONS
Obvious applications for this technology are in speech recognition, speaker recognition, and extraction of speech and sound from a noisy background environment. Other experiments show that the devices can also be successfully applied in applications such as visual image recognition, robotics and autonomous learning machines used in exploration and unmanned vehicles.

The advantages of using a Spiking Neuron Adaptive Processing (SNAP) device over a traditional programmed device are a shorter development path, faster response times, better quality recognition, persistent learning after the initial commission of the system and the re-usability of training models.

BrainChip’s ongoing development work is focused on the commercialisation of key applications that were prioritised after consultation and direction from potential technology partners located in California. The basis for these first stage developments is related to the requirements for specific applications from such companies. These discussions have focussed the BrainChip engineering department on:
Smart Phone
Smart Phone technology applications use unique voice and image identification capabilities to give the user a far greater interactive experience than ever before. These high volume applications, when development is completed, are expected to be licensed and generate royalties from leading smartphone chip manufacturers and will be used in smartphones, smart television sets and tablets.
Internet of Things (IoT)

IoT is a term used to describe the network of objects and people to the internet. ABI research (ABI) estimates there will be 30 billion devices connected to the Internet of Things by 2020. Applications for the IoT devices are broad and include Environmental monitoring, Manufacturing, Energy Management and many more. The estimated value of the IoT sector according to Cisco is US$14.6 trillion.

Robotic Technology
Hardware that is designed to interact with users visually and aurally could give the user an interactive experience which would be adapted for the individual and give a different and unique experience every time. Toys would be a good example of this application and as an added value, safety warning systems could also be inbuilt into the toys.

Limitless Possibilities
The BrainChip team has developed further interest for a more diverse range of applications from sectors including cyber security, gaming, driverless vehicles, and medical however, the capability of the technology is not limited to these sectors alone.

Highly speculative, interesting concept which may come to something and then again, may not.

No Income yet?
Lots of shares and stuff [Read this (http://stocknessmonster.com/news-item?S=BRN&E=ASX&N=734175)]

No trades yet since it came to market after reversing into Aziana (probably a failed miner/explorer)

Highly speculative could go either way in the short term.
I personally maintain the opinion that no revolutionary tech company will be backdoor listed onto the ASX.
In addition less than half of companies that under go a reverse merger survive after two years. Even less provide a reasonable return.

Fair comments - pays to be risk adverse but commodities for me are scarier - the CMI commodities index is sick looking and globally growth is worsening - technology sectors is where the experts are saying the best performing sector even biotech moves slower.

Technology sector is doing well - anyway my prediction came true we hit 31c so i would expect a bit of a sell off now after a run from 27c

BRN have released an investor presentation today which is well worth reading for anyone mildly interested, it summarizes their technology/goals/key upcoming delivery dates in a way that is not too technical/should be understandable by most people. Up another 14% today, haven't had a red day in almost 2 weeks. http://www.asx.com.au/asx/statistics/displayAnnouncement.do?display=pdf&idsId=01668917

Until they meet milestone 2 (putting the technology onto a hardware chip) which is expected in the next month, the technology is still experimental/ideological but all information they have released so far suggests they are on track. They have demonstrated it's capabilities in computer simulations/models only. This is still a speculative stock at this stage (regardless of how confident current holders may be) - DYOR, fair disclosure etc :)

There is this little University in the USA that has developed their own "Brain Chip", going the other way, capable of doing deep learning. I can't help but feel that there is more hype than reality around Brainchip, many buzz words, promises, not much in the way of progress (reminds me of In***net to be honest).

Personally, I'd go with that little University winning this race, you might of heard of them... MIT. http://news.mit.edu/2016/neural-chip-artificial-intelligence-mobile-devices-0203

Many thanks Knot; even this technophobe can understand it; have posted it

In recent years, some of the most exciting advances in artificial intelligence have come courtesy of convolutional neural networks, large virtual networks of simple information-processing units, which are loosely modeled on the anatomy of the human brain.
Neural networks are typically implemented using graphics processing units (GPUs), special-purpose graphics chips found in all computing devices with screens. A mobile GPU, of the type found in a cell phone, might have almost 200 cores, or processing units, making it well suited to simulating a network of distributed processors.
At the International Solid State Circuits Conference in San Francisco this week, MIT researchers presented a new chip designed specifically to implement neural networks. It is 10 times as efficient as a mobile GPU, so it could enable mobile devices to run powerful artificial-intelligence algorithms locally, rather than uploading data to the Internet for processing.
Neural nets were widely studied in the early days of artificial-intelligence research, but by the 1970s, they’d fallen out of favor. In the past decade, however, they’ve enjoyed a revival, under the name “deep learning.”
“Deep learning is useful for many applications, such as object recognition, speech, face detection,” says Vivienne Sze, the Emanuel E. Landsman Career Development Assistant Professor in MIT's Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science whose group developed the new chip. “Right now, the networks are pretty complex and are mostly run on high-power GPUs. You can imagine that if you can bring that functionality to your cell phone or embedded devices, you could still operate even if you don’t have a Wi-Fi connection. You might also want to process locally for privacy reasons. Processing it on your phone also avoids any transmission latency, so that you can react much faster for certain applications.”
The new chip, which the researchers dubbed “Eyeriss,” could also help usher in the “Internet of things” — the idea that vehicles, appliances, civil-engineering structures, manufacturing equipment, and even livestock would have sensors that report information directly to networked servers, aiding with maintenance and task coordination. With powerful artificial-intelligence algorithms on board, networked devices could make important decisions locally, entrusting only their conclusions, rather than raw personal data, to the Internet. And, of course, onboard neural networks would be useful to battery-powered autonomous robots.
Division of labor
A neural network is typically organized into layers, and each layer contains a large number of processing nodes. Data come in and are divided up among the nodes in the bottom layer. Each node manipulates the data it receives and passes the results on to nodes in the next layer, which manipulate the data they receive and pass on the results, and so on. The output of the final layer yields the solution to some computational problem.
In a convolutional neural net, many nodes in each layer process the same data in different ways. The networks can thus swell to enormous proportions. Although they outperform more conventional algorithms on many visual-processing tasks, they require much greater computational resources.
The particular manipulations performed by each node in a neural net are the result of a training process, in which the network tries to find correlations between raw data and labels applied to it by human annotators. With a chip like the one developed by the MIT researchers, a trained network could simply be exported to a mobile device.
This application imposes design constraints on the researchers. On one hand, the way to lower the chip’s power consumption and increase its efficiency is to make each processing unit as simple as possible; on the other hand, the chip has to be flexible enough to implement different types of networks tailored to different tasks.
Sze and her colleagues — Yu-Hsin Chen, a graduate student in electrical engineering and computer science and first author on the conference paper; Joel Emer, a professor of the practice in MIT’s Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and a senior distinguished research scientist at the chip manufacturer NVidia, and, with Sze, one of the project’s two principal investigators; and Tushar Krishna, who was a postdoc with the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology when the work was done and is now an assistant professor of computer and electrical engineering at Georgia Tech — settled on a chip with 168 cores, roughly as many as a mobile GPU has.
Act locally
The key to Eyeriss’s efficiency is to minimize the frequency with which cores need to exchange data with distant memory banks, an operation that consumes a good deal of time and energy. Whereas many of the cores in a GPU share a single, large memory bank, each of the Eyeriss cores has its own memory. Moreover, the chip has a circuit that compresses data before sending it to individual cores.
Each core is also able to communicate directly with its immediate neighbors, so that if they need to share data, they don’t have to route it through main memory. This is essential in a convolutional neural network, in which so many nodes are processing the same data.
The final key to the chip’s efficiency is special-purpose circuitry that allocates tasks across cores. In its local memory, a core needs to store not only the data manipulated by the nodes it’s simulating but data describing the nodes themselves. The allocation circuit can be reconfigured for different types of networks, automatically distributing both types of data across cores in a way that maximizes the amount of work that each of them can do before fetching more data from main memory.
At the conference, the MIT researchers used Eyeriss to implement a neural network that performs an image-recognition task, the first time that a state-of-the-art neural network has been demonstrated on a custom chip.
“This work is very important, showing how embedded processors for deep learning can provide power and performance optimizations that will bring these complex computations from the cloud to mobile devices,” says Mike Polley, a senior vice president at Samsung’s Mobile Processor Innovations Lab. “In addition to hardware considerations, the MIT paper also carefully considers how to make the embedded core useful to application developers by supporting industry-standard [network architectures] AlexNet and Caffe.”

I'm still very bullish on Brainchip.
Deep learning is making a lot of noise, but it's old technology. The power/processing requirements are too high for small embedded and remote devices.
Rapid Autonomous Learning (Brainchip) is in its infancy, so will take a little while to get going, but it's definitely the future. The disruption factor is just too significant for it to be ignored.
They've kept all their promises thus far and delivered significant progress in a short time, and the advisory board alone makes me confident.

Patience is required. The hype got a bit ahead of itself, and some people got burnt bigtime, so the sentiment is low. If you believe in the technology then it would be called a perfect time to accumulate.

it may be getting a bit "ahead of itself" again, but we'll see

apparently it has garnered interest of a small cap insto fund (rumor), which would correlate with consistent buying over the past month...

company continues to deliver on its promises, and it's a significantly 'disruptive' tech to warrant the speculative interest

it's not uncommon for companies to get $500m+ valuations based on 'potential' without any revenues, and this company has all the potential alongside actual client deals and deployments...

so yeah, could carry on climbing despite very little revenues at this early stage of the company

gluck if you take a punt, I'm freecarried from the volatility last year so just happy to watch the price rise :)

BrainChip which was founded in 2013 and went public via a backdoor listing in 2015 has just raised another $21.5m at 18c per share. It raised $6m in a private placement at 15c per share earlier in May this year. And for the first time the word profitability has been mentioned.

Louis DiNardo was appointed CEO in September 2016. He has a strong track record of growing publically listed and privately owned technology businesses, and has worked in venture capital firms where he has successfully backed a number of emerging technology companies.

ASX-listed artificial intelligence software and hardware company BrainChip has raised $21.5 million from investors to fund the development of its "general purpose neural processing unit", which it says has been designed to mimic the function of the human brain.
BrainChip, which has been in a trading halt but last closed at 24.5¢, will also use the capital injection to fund a sales and marketing push, targeting equipment manufacturers and other potential partners.
Mr DiNardo said it would also free him up to be more client-facing and enable the business to aim for profitability in later 2018.

Annoying when companies do a Cap raise at 6 cents below market price, sort of guarantees the SP will drop at least to the cap raise at .18. Whether this company is ever profitable from their acquisitions, let alone whether their 'hardware only' AI chip succeeds, remains to be seen. Investors beware, this is a patient traders stock and has been for ages. Maybe one day there will be the ultimate reward, but year after year it lumbers along sucking in the punters money to prop up the story and the promises.

Not much point in holding a dead money/losing position imho, the chart will say hold when the time comes, which has been a long time coming.

The goal is that it is taken over. He was in Venture Capital in the US previously and said that BRN is very capital efficient. Total capital raising A$40m less fees $38/39m = US$29m. Capital burn of US$15m (as at 31/12/17) to get where they are is great, not many US technology companies can match that. Had enough cash for 2 years at 31/12/17 @ $700K/month.

Trade shows and advertising are generating hundreds of leads, and they prioritise those most likely to succeed. Sales people only get paid when they deliver. Sales pipeline - 52 qualified opportunities with a lifetime value of US$336m. 1 patent granted, 5 pending, hired chief IP counsel for IBM & Intel to put fences around intellectual property. So all looking good as far as I am concerned.

Excellent update many thanks moka. i have so many stocks on my watch list i lose track of them. Some Investors fatigued and losing confidence and a sense over over promising and under delivering and competition from the likes of Intel creating uncertainty?. S/P appears to have started its down wards move since the DEC Qrtly.

Enjoyed this read:

tl;dr: current 'deep learning' technologies are a dead-end for general AI, and this is something Peter Van Der Made (Brainchip inventor) has been stating in presentations for years
very bullish on Brainchip's tech, just hoping they continue to be successful in commercializing it

“Louis DiNardo: Investors in late 2018 and into 2019 will see and should enjoy the commercialisation of 10 years’ worth of effort on the part of our founder Peter van der Made. Again, we introduced our products in the later part of 2017. Sales cycle is such that we're at the point where we've got a nice sales funnel. The back half of 2018 should be a very successful year for us and 2019 will continue that success but also introduce the Akida product, which opens up a much wider opportunity for us.”

“BRN is bordering on breakeven, according to Software analysts. They anticipate the company to incur a final loss in 2018, before generating positive profits of AU$6.70m in 2019. BRN is therefore projected to breakeven around a few months from now. How fast will BRN have to grow each year in order to reach the breakeven point by 2019? Working backwards from analyst estimates, it turns out that they expect the company to grow 56.10% year-on-year, on average, which is rather optimistic! Should the business grow at a slower rate, it will become profitable at a later date than expected.”

“The wonderful part about the OEM part of our business is that it's a low cost of sales. Once you've won that design win with a Quantum or a Gaming Partners International or a Veritone, they have hundreds or thousands of customers and frankly they have a very large sales force, you know, feet on the street. You have to go through an integration process, where we introduce Brainchip's skill for example that was an off the shelf end user solution in order to make it appropriate for OEM so we had to add the APIs or the application specific interfaces. So there's a little bit of incremental engineering expense once that's a sunk cost, you have a very low cost of sales”.

An article about Lockport school which is installing security cameras using Brainchip technology – the first school district in the world with this technology. Some opposition to it because of privacy concerns, see links below.

https://buffalonews.com/2018/05/20/lockport-schools-turn-to-state-of-the-art-technology-to-beef-up-security/
“Next school year, Lockport schools will have in place the kind of security software used at airports, casinos and sensitive government installations.
Facial recognition and tracking software will add an unprecedented level of security at the schools. District officials have decided locked entrance doors, bullet-proof glass and sign-in registers at the front desk are not enough.
"Lockport will be the first school district in the world with this technology deployed," said Tony Olivo, an Orchard Park security consultant who helped develop the system.
The software is used by "Scotland Yard, Interpol, the Paris police and the French Ministry of Defense," Olivo said. "There are a lot of facial recognition systems out there. There is nothing in the world that can do what this technology does."
Lockport will spend $1.4 million of the state's money on the Aegis system, from SN Technologies of Ganonoque, Ont., in all 10 district buildings this summer. It's part of a $2.75 million security system that includes 300 digital video cameras”

The sentiment for Brainchip has been more positive in the last few weeks, and the price was up to 17c at open today - up 2c 13.3%. It hit a low of 11c with end of financial year tax loss selling in June but has been creeping slowly up since then, although on small volumes. Volume picked up to $0.5m yesterday and today with their announcement re Akida. Quarterly results at the end of the month are eagerly awaited hopefully with more revenue than last quarter which was $500K.

https://ir.brainchipinc.com/asx-announcements

Accompanying slides are on June 2018 Quarterly Update Presentation -https://ir.brainchipinc.com/asx-announcements

Lots happening with Brainchip – leads, discussions, trials, just hasn't turned into revenue yet, but more revenue expected in second half of 2018.

June 2018 Quarter Update. Lou DiNardo CEO

"If we look at Studio and Accelerator, the automotive developments that we're working on continue with multiple multinational companies. These are these not small job shops. We're talking about multi-billion dollar companies both in the US and in Europe.

A lot of the engagement is for autonomous vehicle development or advanced driver assisted systems. So those are moving quite nicely. The end game in automotive will certainly be Akida, it won't be BrainChip Studio, but BrainChip Studio lets them really try things out, get to understand the technology. In the case of one European automobile manufacturer, the Akida kernel has been in their hands for a couple months now. They're learning a lot sharing with us and we're learning a lot. It's helping us hone the Akida definition to make sure that we have all the features and hooks and benefits the automotive manufacturers will need.

Gaming Products International, that joint development is going quite well. It's on schedule, it was well received by customers.
Most of the major cell phone manufacturers, think about Apple, Samsung, Huawei, all of them do some in-house development of their own chips or they use outside resources to develop custom chips. They would like to put IP such as Akida into one of their custom chips. So we have early discussions going on with a major cell phone manufacturer.
In Fintech we've got an initial dialogue. I think it's moving along nicely. I think we're coming to some common ground on what we think we could accomplish in Fintech and it's a solid team.

Just a quick outlook, we do expect continued growth. We've harvested over 500 leads, we've got 55 well qualified opportunities and another 100 that we're combing through. 16 design wins with significant first year value. We're currently supporting about 30 committed or active trials most which are under non-disclosure agreements. So we can't talk about names of companies, we could talk generally, about we have a cell phone engagement or have a good dialogue.

The sales pipeline is robust. It's getting bigger and bigger every day. As I mentioned I think on the last call, we're now in Police Departments up and down the East Coast of the United States, some on the West Coast, a little bit in the middle of the country. We're well outside of just being in France now. Luis Coello has brought us into Scandinavia, he's brought us into Spain. He's brought us throughout Europe, the UK is very prominent in his qualified opportunities database. So the outlook again, growth throughout the second half of the year based on what we see in qualified opportunities turning into design wins, and design wins turning into revenue. Final slide is just to remind everybody that we are addressing a multi-billion dollar market. This is something over $6 billion of served available market.

I think I mentioned on our last call that literally the day after the quantum announcement went out we had an inbound from one of the top five storage manufacturers in the world. Top five are HP, IBM, Dell, EMC, Hitachi, I don't know if I said five, but that's the top category. So we're having great meetings with one of those top five, they visited our place a number of times. We visited their place a number of times, and we're looking at specific use cases across a wide set of opportunities there.”

Time to resurrect the Brainchip thread.
Shares up 30.8% today from 13 cents to 17 cents, wafer fabrication complete, NASA is interested and probably also being pushed up because they need to do another capital raise. Lots of excitement on Hot Copper.

Finally on 2 July 2020 the actual Brainchip wafer fabrication (Akida NSoC) was completed on schedule.
• BrainChip moving to assembly and test of the Akida NSoC
• Evaluation boards for Early Access Program are in fabrication
In conjunction with Socionext and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) wafer
fabrication of the Akida device has been completed as planned and the Company is moving to
complete assembly and test operations. The primary use of the initial devices will be internal
evaluation and support of those customers that have signed agreements for the Early Access
Program.

On 8 June 2020 BrainChip Signed a Joint Development Agreement utilizing BrainChip’s Akida neuromorphic SoC with Valeo Corporation, a Tier-1 European automotive supplier of sensors and systems for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Vehicles (AV).

On 24 May 2020 BrainChip Announced Agreement With Tier-1 Automotive Manufacturer to evaluate the AkidaTM Neural Processor. The evaluation agreement, which was binding on execution, has been entered into with The Ford Motor Company and is not the subject of a fixed term. The agreement is based upon a collaboration to evaluate Akida as it pertains to the automotive industry with payments under the agreement intended to cover associated expenses and received periodically during the evaluation process.
The engagement is considered by BRN to be a significant in the ongoing development of the Akida product.

27 May 2020 Peter Van Der Made at AGM - I have spent the past 16 years envisioning the Akida technology and we are almost there; Akida is in wafer fabrication and we have many example applications to serve our customer needs.

15 April 2020 Company places 103.96M Fully Paid Ordinary Shares and Raises A$3.12M in Gross Proceeds at AUD 0.03000.

Cash Balance as of 31 March 2020 US$3.7M

Chairman’s address at AGM - Truth is, start-ups go through ups and downs, particularly in our case where we are introducing ground breaking, highly differentiated AI technology in a relatively nascent market where even some of our potential customers are themselves still evaluating how to best approach this huge emerging market.

CEOs address - The Artificial Intelligence Market is very complex. Most of the headlines you see relate to AI in the cloud or datacenter. These are not our markets, and frankly it takes hundreds of millions of dollars to address this segment of the market. This segment is also extremely competitive and includes the giants of industry; such as Intel, IBM, Nvidia and many others. We understand our strengths as a solution for AI at the Edge.

We present potential customers with a new architecture that is small, ultra-low power and includes incremental learning in Edge applications for cameras, automotive sensors and smart sensors of all types.

I would like to emphasize that our Akida technology provides functionality that does not currently exist. This technology provides on-chip, at the Edge incremental learning. All architectures today, whether local, in the cloud or in a data center require the entire network to be retrained if new classifiers are added. For example, a new object or a new word.

Akida working with a vast array of sensors can see, smell, taste or hear and process all thatinformation at the edge.

The AkidaIP or Device runs the entire neural network. This is foreign to customers. Typically, the network is run on a host CPU, requires external memory and more recently, for Edge applications, a dedicated accelerator chip. Our IP or Device does not require any of these power-consuming extra components.

Our neural processor chip is much simpler to use, more cost effective and saves power compared to traditional networks, particularly for Edge devices. Our strength is that we run Artificial Intelligence very efficiently. The Akida technology is unique in that the entire network runs within the neural fabric, which allows users to dedicate their CPU to data processing, which is their strength.

Hi nileshnz. Who knows when there will be contracts and revenue, although with the chip now manufactured there is more certainty. As you can see this is a long term project, 16 years for Peter Van Der Made and most of us were expecting things to happen in 2018. Check out the comments and charts on Hot Copper for more opinions. I am holding for the long term. You haven’t missed the boat, it sails every day, but the price varies. With hindsight 4 cents was cheap, and hopefully in a year’s time 17 cents will be very cheap.

Yes, tech is still relevant, ground-breaking technology, nothing like it. BRN has first mover advantage.
Hot Copper comment - The tech on this is phenomenal (my say - coming from a tech background) this is one of those rags to riches story - just got to have faith.

https://jwpm.com.au/industrial-marketing-blog/brn-brainchip-neuromorphic
Global giants like Intel, IBM, NVIDIA are all working on developing Artificial Intelligence chips that use brain architecture enabling self-learning not previously possible in portable devices.
And they are about to hit the market. However, Australian company BrainChip is likely to be first.
Australian company Brainchip Holdings is about to launch to the market the first of a series of chips that supports brain-like neural processing that will likely change the world.
Akida™ - The World's First AI system on a chip
Brainchip’s Akida™ is a revolutionary advanced neural networking processor that brings artificial intelligence to the edge in a way that existing technologies are not capable.
The game changing significance of Brainchip's work cannot be overstated.
While Brainchip isn't the only organisation working on neuromorphic chips (for example IBM's "TrueNorth, and Intel's Loihi), it looks like being the first to market.

Brainchip (ASX:BRN) posts $9.5M half-yearly loss.
The company's shares were worth just five cents each at the start of the year but closed yesterday afternoon at 33 cents per share — a massive increase of 560 per cent.
The major catalysts for the share price rise were the completion of the wafer fabrication (https://themarketherald.com.au/brainchip-asxbrn-completes-akida-wafer-fabrication-2020-07-02/) for its flagship Akida system-on-a-chip product and the subsequent major partnership (https://themarketherald.com.au/brainchip-holdings-asxbrn-creates-game-changing-partnership-with-magikeye-2020-08-17/) with MagikEye, each completed over the past two months.

Half year financial report out today. The bad news is $9.5M half-yearly loss. The good news is a research centre set up in Perth to look at the application of Artificial Intelligence across a wide spectrum of use cases including Smart Health.

https://www.asx.com.au/asxpdf/20200826/pdf/44lx71sgjym8gt.pdf
In May 2020, the Company incorporated a new Australian subsidiary, BrainChip Research Institute Pty Ltd, to pursue the further innovative and develop the next generation of the Akida software.
Founder and inventor of Brainchip Mr Peter van der Made, Chief Technical Officer, relocated to Perth, Western Australia from California in January 2020 to lead the research team.

On 23 July 2020, the Company announced the appointment of Professor Barry J. Marshall, a Nobel Prize laureate in Physiology and Medicine, to the Company’s Scientific Advisory Board.
Marshall is at The University of Western Australia and set up the Marshall Centre for Infectious Diseases. Marshall invented the widely used urea breath test for diagnosis of the bacterium Helicobacter pylori (ulcers.) Smart Health is a branch of healthcare where neural network technology, medical and virology research meet to enable new intelligent technologies to deliver the rapid interpretation of clinical tests. There is talk of breath testing for diabetes, and coronavirus which could use Brainchip technology.

09 June 2020 Tech developer BrainChip (BRN) has signed a joint development agreement with European automotive supplier Valeo for the Akida System-on-Chip (SoC)
 Valeo supplies sensors and systems for autonomous vehicles (AV) and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS)
 The SoC will be developed to process data and learn in a way that is a lot more focused and streamlined than previous system architectures
The low-power, reliable system will bypass the need for an exterior processing unit to integrate large amounts of sensor data, and instead provide a potentially better and more elastic solution in one compact package.

BrainChip Holdings (ASX:BRN) Presentation, FNN Online Investor Event, April 2020
Video and transcript

We were founded in 2013. We did a public offering, actually a reverse takeover in 2015, company of Azania (mining company), we're listed on the ASX exchange. I think one of the things that investors should be cognizant of is we are in my mind and to my knowledge, the only pure-play artificial intelligence company that is public. We've raised about AU$53 million.

Our engineering resources are primarily in California and Toulouse, France. California, Southern California, we have hardware design, we have computational neuroscientists who are researchers and in Toulouse, France, it's a team that we acquired when we acquired Spikenet in September of 2015. We do have five people that are dedicated contractors to us in India and we will likely be opening an India design center and rather than have them as contractors, so they'll be wholly owned.

Akida means spike in Greek. But you can think about spike as an event. Spiking neural networks are going to be an evolution. In the interim, there is a whole bunch of what we call computational neural networks, everything that's going on in the artificial intelligence world. What the team has been able to do is develop a chip that can do spiking neural networks in a native domain, but during the interim, while people are evolving to spiking neural networks, it really is an event-based processor.

There's a lot of companies that are laying claim to being able to play at the edge. Number one, they're not a complete solution. They need a host CPU, they act as an accelerator or a math coprocessor. Our device is complete. Everything in our device and everything in the intellectual property that we're marketing as well is a complete neuro fabric. It runs the network and it does all of the processing.

We are opening innovation and research centers. The first is in Western Australia. Peter Van Der Made for personal reasons wanted to go back to Perth. He's starting a innovation and research center there.
Commercial contracts are in negotiation. We've got one that's been on a kind of long pole out of Europe (Valeo). We've got one coming out of United States in Detroit (Ford). We've got a couple that are going on in China.

Brainchip share price up 1000% in 5 months. Is it the next big thing? August 24.
At the time of writing, the Brainchip share price has jumped nearly 18% today alone to 33 cents.
Founded in 2011, the United States-based tech company hit an all-time low of 1.1 cent in January 2015. With a vision to mimic the human brain through a microchip, this prompted former Australian mining company, Aziana Limited, to acquire the tech company at a discounted rate.
In the months following the deal, the Brainchip share price reached a record high of 46 cents in November 2015.
Brainchip shares were trading at 3 cents in March 2020.
Defying challenging market conditions, the world’s only pure-play AI company has been making tailwinds.

Last week, Brainchip announced its partnership (https://www.fool.com.au/2020/08/17/brainchip-share-price-rockets-30-in-a-week/) with Magik Eye Inc. to combine its AI processing unit with revolutionary 3D depth sensing technology.
The week before, Brainchip entered a put option agreement with LDA Capital Limited, a US-based investment group. The agreement provides a financing facility of up to $29 million over the next 12 months. The drawdown will strengthen Brainchip’s balance sheet and support the commercialisation of its pioneering Akida technology.

BrainChip Holdings CEO Lou DiNardo talks about its Akida integrated circuit etc.

So what we've done is we've taken the way your brain operates and we've put it in digital logic in silicon. And the way your brain operates, our brains operate, is that when we see an event, we process it. If we see something we already know, we don't, and that is what allows us to do ultra low power processing at the edge, which is required at the edge.

In the meantime, we are marketing aggressively the intellectual property. There are edge devices which really don't have enough space for another chip, and what you have, what we call system on a chip, or ASICs, application-specific ICs. The opportunity for us to market our intellectual property for those companies that are building their own chips is already well underway and we've got several contracts that we're working on.

Wafer fabrication began on April 8th. We have a back-end partner, which is one of the leading ASIC suppliers in the world, actually the second-largest ASIC supplier in the world, a company called Socionext, which was formerly Fujitsu Microelectronics and Panasonic combined.

We have very deep technology validation going on everywhere: Seoul, South Korea; mainland China; Europe and the United States; top tier suppliers in the automotive industry; top tier suppliers in the smart home industry. We're starting to work in the medical industry, so the technology validation has gone really, really quite well know.
But for a public market investor, we really are the only pure play public company.

https://themarketherald.com.au/brainchips-asxbrn-akida-tech-to-be-sold-through-socionext-2020-03-23/

BrainChip’s (ASX:BRN) Akida tech to be sold through Socionext

 New-age tech company BrainChip (BRN) has combined its Akida tech with Socionext's artificial intelligence platform
 Socionext is a Japanese "system on a chip" developer
 The companies teamed up in June 2019 to develop BrainChip's Akida technology
 Essentially, the Akida tech is a small chip with immense processing power
 The product will be available to customers through Socionext

Akida is what's known as a "system on a chip" or SoC device. Essentially, this type of device has all the power of a personal computer built into one small chip.
Through a combination of hardware and software, well-built SoCs can have incredible processing, graphic, and performance capabilities, but do it all for a fraction of the power cost. The most common types of SoCs are found in smartphones or tablets.
This all falls under the umbrella of "edge" computing, which is the latest era of technology. Rather than relying on cloud-based tech which needs to connect to a far-away server to transmit information, edge tech does all of the processing in-house.

OMG.About the same as my pension..
So market cap is 35,740 times revenue.
Well done BRN, it looks as though you have set a world record.

I doubt it is a world record. There are lots of similar tech companies in the US with little or no revenue and huge billion dollar market caps.
The founder Peter van der Made could have done this in the US where institutions would have invested in several capital raises to fund the years of development. But he wanted to retain a large personal stake in the company and he has done that by listing on the ASX, luckily for those of us who own shares.
Revenue doesn’t matter at this stage because the company has spent years (listed 2015, first patent 2008) pouring capital into building up assets – research, technology, intellectual property, about a dozen patents. And now they have a product ready to be commercialised, although it could be another year or two before revenue starts flowing.
When US institutions see how cheap these shares are compared to comparable US tech companies they are likely to buy in, and push the price up.
It is quite likely that the company will be bought out by one of the big players for maybe $20 - $40bn depending on the stage of development.

I am not trying to convince you to buy, but just to point out that there is a different way of valuing tech companies like this. It is not like XRO where they had a product to sell when they listed.

Also the biggest gainer on ASX at 30.4%, up 17c to $0.730.
And it hit the $1bn market cap today as well at 64.5c.
Perhaps institutions buying on yesterday’s announcement of inclusion in S&P/ASX All Technology Index on 21 Sept.

Why the Brainchip (ASX:BRN) share price soared 30% today.
It’s possible that last week’s positive news contributed to the Brainchip share price soaring higher today.

Don’t know what’s going on here. Down day on Tech in the US overnight but over 80c and 10% up this morning.
40 million shares 30 million dollars Traded in less than 30 mins.
I bought these at 17c and have no idea when to sell.
Considered selling Some after opening to Take out my initial cost but now at 86c would have missed several thousand dollars
And it’s just touched 89c up 22%. WTF??

Turnover today $178M, so a bigger day than yesterday. Nearly $100m in the first hour so there were a lot of very enthusiastic buyers.
It had the 5th largest $ turnover on ASX behind APT, BHP, CSL, & CBA, and it was the only one where the share price rose. A sea of red today on ASX and BRN was up 2c 2.7% to 75c.
A very volatile day for BRN with low of 62c and high of 97c. So nearly reached $1.
Brainchip got free advertising last night on ABC, Tuesday finance with Alan Kohler, which might explain some of the new buyers.

BRN may be the next “hot stock’ as people exit from ATM, APT, and other BNPL stocks which are falling because Pay Pal is entering the BNPL market. So expect some exciting times. The traders will be active and it will probably be volatile like ATM was when it was below $10. But plenty of long term holders too who see the potential of Brainchip.
We are expecting more announcements in the next month, validation of the testing of the Akida chip, and some other deals.

Alan Kohler did an interview with BRN CEO Louis diNardo in January 2018 so is familiar with the company. A link to the interview on Kohler’s twitter account.

BrainChip Holdings (ASX:BRN) Akida development agreement.

Lou DiNardo: The next couple of quarters, as we finish out this year, we will go through the validation process of each of the functional blocks on the IC, manufacture the evaluation boards, get them in the hands of customers. As we get into the first and second quarter of next year, that'll be reduced to practice, hopefully by our customers as we expect. And we'll start to see things go into end equipment, where they'll do their testing and validation of the entire system.

The games and manipulation have started. Brainchip was shorted last week so there was an article in the AFR downramping it letting investors know that the stock they purchased earlier in the week at 80c or 90c was actually in a bubble. Shaking the tree to get rid of any loose fruit.

As someone said when traders who are savvy play down the share price it is a good indicator that the herd are on to something.
Someone commented that some of these shorters must have a serious CHIP on their shoulder.

BRN closed on Friday at 64.5c down 11c, 14.6% with $55m turnover, and it was in the top 10 on ASX for volume. But it finished up 15 cents on last Friday's close.

https://www.afr.com/markets/equity-markets/brainchip-s-rally-stirs-the-bubble-meter-20200910-p55u86
BrainChip's rally stirs the bubble-meter.
The emergence of Facebook stock-tipping favourite BrainChip Holdings as an ASX unicorn has convinced some market watchers that the speculation taking over the Australian market is now at world-class levels of hype without substance.
BrainChip shares advanced slightly on Thursday, for a return this week alone of 53.5 per cent. The shares last traded at 76¢, equivalent to $1.2 billion in market value.

BrainChip's rally caught the attention of Sujit Dey from Credit Suisse's hedge fund sales desk, who admitted he still doesn't understand what it does even after reading its filings.
"This situation definitely takes the cake when it comes to bubble indicators in this market," Mr Dey told clients in an email circulated on Thursday morning. "I thought I’d seen it all!"
It's almost impossible to short the stock because there aren't enough institutional investors on the register to provide their securities for lending. Commsec and Openmarket dominate the trading volume according to Mr Dey, which "gives a good indication of the type of buyers that are moving this stock".
One fund manager said they tried to secure stock to borrow but "there is none available, so that helps explain why no one is stepping in to sell it".

'Minnow to unicorn': BrainChip tops $1.4b valuation
Since September 2 iBrainchip has added around $936 million in value, going from 31¢ to 91¢, after announcing an agreement to offer space-industry player Vorago Technologies early access to its brain-chip named Akida.
Institutional shareholders include Regal Funds Management, Thorney Technologies and Metals X Ltd.
The artificially intelligent chip maker's story is also extremely popular among retail investors, some of whom entered the sharemarket for the first time in 2020, as government stimulus payments and lockdowns encourage speculation
Stock-tipping forums for less-sophisticated retail investors such as HotCopper and Facebook's ASX Stock Tip Group also readily discuss the business.
Billionaire investor and significant shareholder Mr Waislitz suggested BrainChip, if successful, could become a takeover target for giant semi-conductor players such as Intel, Nvidia and Micron.
"The onus is now very much on the company to deliver substantial revenue from the deals it has announced. If it can live up to this promise, it would not be a surprise to see BrainChip come on to the radar of the major players in the global chip industry. We are watching it closely."

The BrainChip Holdings Ltd (ASX: BRN) (https://www.fool.com.au/tickers/asx-brn/) share price has crashed 13.5% lower to 65.5 cents. This decline appears to have been driven by profit taking after some stellar gains by the artificial intelligence technology company’s shares. While BrainChip is an exciting company, it still has an enormous amount to prove. So, it isn’t at all surprising to see its shares come crashing lower. Especially given its billion-dollar market capitalisation on next to no revenue.

BrainChip (ASX:BRN) booms while tech stocks crumble.

A solid green run cemented BrainChip's (BRN) status as the next tech unicorn this week
The technology stock has surprised bullish investors and analysts alike since the start of September as its share price soared to new heights amid major tech corrections to the west
Over the course of just seven trading days, the company's share price more than doubled to close at an all-time high of 75.5 cents — at one stage, the stock was worth as much as 97 cents per share
Investors who put their money behind BrainChip this time last year would have seen a staggering 1400 per cent return on their investment
While BrainChip's half-year financials came out right before the green wave began, it's likely the rise was triggered by a collaboration with VORAGO Technologies
So, as the local sharemarket dusts off fresh losses and looks to the new week ahead, the question remains; is the BrainChip boom here to stay?

Superhero cranks retail share trading frenzy.

A new generation of young traders is taking advantage of super-cheap brokerage fees to pile into the sharemarket on an unprecedented scale.
The sharemarket's attraction for younger traders is a widening sweet spot of plummeting brokerage costs, coronavirus-induced government cash handouts, simplified online account sign-up processes, and an aversion to the feeble returns on cash saving accounts associated with ultra-low rates.
A generation of savers are being transitioned into a generation of investors and that's because they're being forced to.

Prior to 2020, total daily volumes were dominated by big banks and miners, but have since swung to popular tech shares, which feature heavily on Facebook, Twitter, HotCopper, and other online discussion forums dominated by less-sophisticated retail investors.

Morgan Stanley found three of the five most traded stocks in August were Zip Co, Afterpay and Mesoblast, with beaten-down sectors such as tourism and travel favoured by retail investors and avoided by institutional investors.
Mr Winters said sharemarket bolter BrainChip is already one of the most popular shares traded across the Superhero platform.

Falling as fast as it went up. Pump and dump?

moka
16-09-2020, 10:36 PM
Falling as fast as it went up. Pump and dump?No not a pump and dump, or the opposite which is a “poop and scoop” (driving the price down), closer to a “short and distort.”

Shares are being dumped to drive the price down which can only be done by big holders, e.g. LDA Capital, Regal Holdings and any others. They don’t need to “pump” up the share price by spreading false information because they have enough shares to manipulate the market. And shares are being accumulated as well as dumped, because there are big buys too. They wouldn't be accumulating unless they saw the potential.

Someone had a closer look and found dumps around 3.35 & 3.50pm of 2 x 600K, 910K, 3 x 420K, 945K, 2 x 350K, 2 x 310K, 1 x 347K
At the same time there was: 25 buys at 60K shares at every 40 seconds, 7 buys of 120K shares, 6 of 55K 3 of 80K, 4 of 103K.

I would call it manipulation but as the article below says when an institution controls the market it is “exercising the gears of capitalism,” not manipulation. Whether it is manipulation depends on who you are.

https://www.investopedia.com/terms/p/poopandscoop.asp
However, there's a big difference in the motives behind the poop and scoop and hedge fund investors: The poop and scoop play is a deliberate attempt to manipulate a stock price, while an activist hedge fund is exercising the gears of capitalism.

Someone commented that the Brainchip chart was showing Elliot waves. Five impulse waves up and then 3 corrective waves down (A,B,C) and we are now in the C wave, before the up trend continues. A diagram of the waves in the article below.

Brainchip chart (https://finance.yahoo.com/chart/BRN.AX?p=BRN.AX#)

https://www.investopedia.com/articles/technical/111401.asp
Elliott believed that stock markets, generally thought to behave in a somewhat random and chaotic manner, in fact, traded in repetitive patterns. He found that swings in mass psychology always showed up in the same recurring fractal patterns, or "waves," in financial markets.
An impulse wave, which net travels in the same direction as the larger trend, always shows five waves in its pattern. A corrective wave, on the other hand, net travels in the opposite direction of the main trend.
Waves 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 form an impulse, and waves A, B and C form a correction. The five-wave impulse, in turn, forms wave 1 at the next-largest degree, and the three-wave correction forms wave 2 at the next-largest degree.

BrainChip (ASX:BRN): Interview with CEO Lou Dinardo (16 September 2020)
We spoke with BrainChip CEO Lou Dinardo about the recent validation of the company's Akida chip, the go-to-market strategy and the company's early access program, which has already led to a number of high-potential collaborations with prospective customers.Part of the transcript of the video:
"First like to thank the shareholders who have been patient as we have spent the last three, four, almost five years developing the Akida IP and now bringing it to fruition ...

The Early Access Program is a concept that gives early access to key customers in the specific markets that we see as our target markets. In the case of Vorago, that happens to be space flight and aerospace but it will also add to Vorago's strength in down hole applications, whether it be oil or natural gas, those are very harsh environments as well.

The early access program gives those customers that sign up, and there's a fee to participate, it gives them early access to engineering samples, evaluation boards and dedicated support. So our focus has been to pick who we think are leaders in each of the markets that we see as important to our immediate future; make sure that we have an established relationship and bring one or two or three into our camp.

So at this point, we've talked publicly about our relationship and the Early Access Program with the Ford Motor Company. That, of course, would be for ADAS and autonomous vehicles. We've talked publicly about our relationship and Early Access Program with a company called Valeo which is headquartered in Paris but we work out of Stuttgart, Germany - right across the street from all of the well known names in German automobile manufacturing. They're a Tier 1 supplier of modules and [indistinct] are huge into automotive industry - something in the order of 20 billion Euros a year turnover.

We did talk about Vorago. Now we have others which we've been unable to name. One: there's a very prominent well known US based unmanned aerial surveillance manufacturer ... a long description for the word drone. In this case it would be primarily for commercial use; natural disasters and things of that sort where flying aerial drones for rescue operations.

There's things going on in the smart home arena as well as smart health. We look to smart health as what really could be a burgeoning marketplace for us. There's a great opportunity to do diagnosis on volatile organic compounds. As we exhale, everything that we're made of comes out of us ... and you can detect early stage of cancers, you can detect infectious diseases, COVID-19, H1M1 and many others.

So we've started to latch onto that arena as well as one or two others in what we call beneficial AI; where we're looking to benefit human kind with advances in medial science and advances in other types of research. So ... a really wide range of end markets, but we're trying to partner with those leaders in those end markets where we're assured, as best we can, that if we're successful and they're successful, there's a real commercial outcome".

“The name on every ASX stock trader and investor’s lips recently is Brainchip Holdings. After a meteoric rise over the past fortnight Brainchip suffered a significant, and in my opinion much necessary pullback. Stocks cannot just go up in a straight line, and it is a big reminder not to FOMO buy into momentum, but to always wait for pullbacks and assess the technical of a company before diving in.
In terms of Brainchip as a company I still believe they have significant growth potential and if they can secure some new partnerships or have positive announcements in the coming period I think their share price does have significant upside potential.”

DiNardo says the company expects to be in a position to announce contracts to license its intellectual property to customers in the first half of next year.
"Those licenses are probably more near term than large volume chip sales which will take time," he says.
"As we get into the later part of 2021 we should start to hit our stride with chip sales, that’s six-to-nine months away."

Brainchip’s chips are not used by Eion Musk. He has his own and several large technology companies are working on similar chips.

Computer chip with a human-like brain
Global giants like Intel, IBM, NVIDIA are all working on developing Artificial Intelligence chips that use brain architecture enabling self-learning not previously possible in portable devices.
And they are about to hit the market. However, Australian company BrainChip is likely to be first.

Another Youtube video. Interesting comment about the downramping below. There was a Motley Fool article recently that was positive and it was pulled after a day or so leaving only the negative ones. The jump to 97c in early in September happened the day after Alan Kohler mentioned it on the ABC evening news. Closed at 33.5c today

Three reasons leading to SP increase:

Tech - Akida, edge AI space, a lot of uses, could be next big thing in tech, commercialization, only ASX pure AI company, niche, very unique, a lot of investors jumped on board
Announcements – 2 partnership agreements = Magic Eye in August and Vorago, NASA early access program
Hype - a lot of media coverage, NASA, FOMO effect, a lot started investing, not knowing much about it, a lot of rumours starting circulating.

Why did SP fall? Hype and pumping of the stock, fomo, a lot of profit taking, MC is unimaginable for a company at this stage, no revenue, led to downward trend, panic selling, rough month in September, revenue vs market cap, edge technology still in early stages, raised doubts.

What is next? Big potential long term, what partnerships, will they lead to revenue, can they commercialize it and get revenue, has found support at 30c.

I have never seen a stock with as much professional downramping. Many articles in the financial media warning people off it. I presume that somebody wants to accumulate at as low a price as possible. As some one said we know you only paid 4c and we want them. BRN has an incredible first mover headstart. Once revenue starts the investor pool will be much bigger. Homework: how long before revenue?

3 unique ASX shares I’d buy and hold forever

Brainchip Holdings Ltd (ASX: BRN) (https://www.fool.com.au/tickers/asx-brn/) is the world’s largest listed, pure-play artificial intelligence (AI) company. Moreover, I like the fact that the founder and chief technology officer is an intelligent fanatic who has been working to create this technology for most of his storied career. Not only that, but this company is currently prototyping a first-of-a-kind artificial intelligence technology. The Akida System on a Chip is a neuromorphic technology, designed to mimic the brain and nervous system.
It is already the subject of several partnership agreements in a range of sectors. These include space exploration, gaming, smart cities and autonomous vehicles. I believe the potential for this technology is very significant and beyond what is currently possible with artificial intelligence. Personally, I think this is a rare chance to buy into a semiconductor ASX share that is providing the market with a new technology.

Thanks Moka, it will be interesting to see where the sp heads today
Closing SP was 42c up 9.5c = 29.2% on 80m shares - $36m turnover, on 24 December, significantly above the usual volume of between 3m – 10m shares. 51c high and 41c low.

It is still early days though as last time the NASA related announcement (Vorago Technologies Collaboration) was made on 2 September, and it took a week to peak at 97c on 9 September.
So it takes a while for the news to filter through and for people to take in and react to the news, and with the Christmas/New Year break it will probably take longer with this announcement.

BRN heard you!
Thursday 7 Jan up 8.9% = 4c to 49c. Over 60% of shares traded in the last hour as big buyer/s came and pushed the price up. Someone buying big as $3.4m traded in last hour, and $2m in rest of day.

Friday up 19.4% 9.5c to 58.5c on 40m shares or $24m. Once again most of the buying in the last hour of trading. At least one buy of $1m. Volume up significantly as lately 5m or less shares trade.

Share price going up as people come back from holiday and catch up with the two annoucements on 23 December re NASA places order under Akida Early Access Program and BrainChip Signs First Akida™ Intellectual Property License Agreement with Renesas Electronics Corp. I like the word "First" which to me sounds like there will be more IP Iicence agreements.

I hadn't heard of Renesas but I had heard of NEC - Renesas Electronics started operation in April 2010, through the integration of NEC Electronics Corporation and Renesas Technology Corporation.

Brainchip have actual products for sale now on their website. That was one of the factors for the jump in price. It has been a long wait, and it could be about another year before we see serious hockey stick growth in revenue.

Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX Concept: Did You See This Coming, Elon?
The establishment strikes back, as the stunning EV shows what a legacy automaker is capable of.

“NEUROMORPHIC COMPUTING
Neuro what? Neuromorphic computing is a form of information processing whose hardware runs so-called spiking neural networks. These artificial neural networks mimic natural neural networks, firing only when certain thresholds are reached. Mercedes says the system reduces energy consumption "by orders of magnitude."

Mercedes engineers worked with California-based artificial-intelligence developer BrainChip to create systems based on the company's Akida hardware and software. Among other things, the technology makes the "Hey, Mercedes" voice control system in the EQXX five to ten times more efficient than conventional voice control.

Mercedes acknowledges that while neuromorphic computing is still in its infancy, it says similar systems will be available in a variety of consumer products within a few years. And when applied at scale throughout an electric vehicle, neuromorphic computing has the potential to significantly reduce the energy needed to run the latest artificial intelligence technologies.”

Media release from Mercedes about its concept car.

MERCEDES VISION EQXX – taking electric range and efficiency to an entirely new level.

https://media.mbusa.com/releases/release-211879a94f6a1a0ff764674cdc0a8630-vision-eqxx-taking-electric-range-and-efficiency-to-an-entirely-new-level

"The Mercedes-Benz VISION EQXX is how we imagine the future of electric cars. Just one-and-a-half years ago, we started this project leading to the most efficient Mercedes-Benz ever built – with an outstanding energy consumption of less than 10 kWh per 100 kilometers. It has a range of more than 1,000 kilometers2 (620 miles) on a single charge using a battery that would fit even into a compact vehicle.

Neuromorphic computing – a car that thinks like you
Another key efficiency feature of the VISION EQXX that takes its cue from nature is the way it thinks. It uses an innovative form of information processing called neuromorphic computing. The hardware runs spiking neural networks. Information is coded in discrete spikes and energy is only consumed when a spike occurs, which reduces energy consumption by orders of magnitude.Working with California-based artificial intelligence experts BrainChip, Mercedes-Benz engineers developed systems based on BrainChip's Akida hardware and software. The example in the VISION EQXX is the "Hey Mercedes" key-word detection. Structured along neuromorphic principles, it is five to ten times more efficient than conventional voice control.

2022 Mercedes-Benz EQXX: Reinventing the electric car.

https://www.whichcar.com.au/news/2022-mercedes-benz-eqxx-reinventing-the-electric-car
(https://www.whichcar.com.au/news/2022-mercedes-benz-eqxx-reinventing-the-electric-car)
“The Vision EQXX is how we imagine the future of electric cars,” says Mercedes-Benz chairman Ola Källenius. “It underlines where our entire company is headed: We will build the world’s most desirable electric cars.”

That’s quite some mission statement, especially for a carmaker that effectively established the template for the modern internal combustion engine motor vehicle more than 120 years ago.

Put simply, the Vision EQXX represents a profound intellectual and technological inflection point for Mercedes-Benz. A fully functional prototype that explores the outer limits of electric vehicle efficiency, connectivity, and production feasibility, the EQXX shows what’s possible when a pillar of the automotive establishment turns its massive research and development resource entirely to thinking about designing and engineering a better electric vehicle.

This Mercedes puts over-hyped, over-valued electric vehicle startups such as Tesla, Lucid, Faraday Future, Nikola, and the rest on notice.

The relentless pursuit of energy efficiency extends right down to the way the car’s electronic brains process information. The EQXX features a neuromorphic computer network developed in conjunction with California-based artificial intelligence developer BrainChip.

The Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX might be a concept, but the ideas and processes that shaped it are grounded in production reality.

Mercedes-Benz invented the car. Now it aims to reinvent the electric car. As such, the Vision EQXX may well prove one of the most consequential concept cars of the early 21st century.“

I have as many as I could afford without borrowing. I put my Kiwisaver into BRN in 2020 when it was around 30 – 40c, and it has paid off. I was very happy with my returns with Milford Kiwisaver but 10 - 20% is peanuts compared to the returns on BRN.

It seemed a lot of shares to hold when the price was below 10c for about a year in 2019/2020. I was definitely overweight and not diversified. Now the price is wow $1.20!!!!, my faith has been rewarded.

I started buying in 2016 when it was around 20c. It has been a long wait, with lots of volatility.

Great day yesterday, closed at $1.40 up 21c 17.7%, on 73m shares, so volume up and price up. The news is getting out slowly, and demand for shares has increased, not just in Australia but also the US and Germany. I am expecting another great day today.

A great day on Friday, closed at $1.50 up 10c (7.14%) after reaching a high of $1.90. Lots of traders took profits. Huge turnover of 126.6m shares and $202m. I am expecting a bumpy ride for a while. BRN has been rerated with the Mercedes news and institutions will be shaking the tree to scare out the small retail investor and accumulate. I remember how volatile ATM was around the $2-$10 range.

Two trades went though at the end of the day for a total of $18m for 12m shares.
23,129 4:32:54 pm 150 5,852,854 $8,779,281 Late Put Through,Crossed
13,672 4:34:13 pm 150 6,147,146 $9,220,719 Block Trade

Institutions will be buying to feed the US & German markets. Frankfurt had 566K turnover on Friday so a good demand in Germany for BRN shares.

Brainchip CFO Ken Scarince presented at the International Investment Forum in Germany in October last year, and there is a lot of interest in BRN in Germany.

“Australian sharemarket tumbles as tech stocks follow Nasdaq slump, finishes week 0.8pct lower
Almost every sector dragged the ASX firmly into the red, with tech a major weight, eclipsing the Nasdaq’s big tumble overnight.

“BrainChip continues its strong performance in 2022, up 7.14 per cent to $1.50 in today’s session,” he said.
“The company announced it had submitted a call capital notice to LDA Capital to subscribe for 15,000,000 shares worth approximately $50m.
“Accordingly, gains were up over 25 per cent just after midday until profit-taking kicked in, which led to some selling pressure in the afternoon.
“The stock has more than doubled in the new year and is receiving a lot of buzz around the market.”

Afterpay plunged 9.16 per cent to $69.03 after its US acquirer Block dropped 5.9 overnight.
Fellow buy-now-pay-later provider Zip lost 5.13 per cent to $3.70, while accounting software company Xero retreated 5.05 per cent to $119.11.
Overall, the tech sector was down almost 4 per cent.”

Brainchip are expecting and planning for growth.
13 jobs advertised on their website. From memory they had only 34 employees in 2019/2020 when they were struggling financially. They let go their sales staff back then. They have since hired new sales people, including Rob Telson as Vice President of Worldwide Sales in August 2021. Prior to BrainChip, Rob had a 14-year tenure at ARM where he was a member of the executive management team and responsible for driving sales growth in North America as well as developing strategic relationships with semiconductor manufacturing partners.

Brainchip Technical Update and Valuation Comments by Kneppy Invests.

Brainchip current valuation on January 16, 2022 is a rather lofty $2.5 billion for a company that has zilch revenue. But of course, the true valuation of a company is the present value of all future cash flow. So what revenue Brianchip thus far is largely irrelevant. However, because Brianchip is in the early stages of its life, deriving a valuation is nigh on impossible and really anyone is just guessing at this point. And this is the main reason there are so many differing opinions about the company.

And it closed at 68c on 31 Dec. So up 213% this year. If these volumes continue the only way to go is up. A lot of traders and short term holders taking profits now, but I will hold for the long term ride.

It is the biggest gainer on the ASX today and was yesterday too. It is also in the top 10 for volume and value. So people will be noticing it and asking who is Brainchip. It is definitely being rerated. About 500K of shares sell daily on the Frankfurt market, so international interest in Brainchip especially from those who understand the technology.

Hindsight is a terrible thing - Marcus Padley

https://www.livewiremarkets.com/wires/hindsight-is-a-terrible-thing
(https://www.livewiremarkets.com/wires/hindsight-is-a-terrible-thing)
“In 2003 I bought a million shares in a stock called Paladin ASX: PDN) at 1.6 cents. I sold them two weeks later for 3.2 cents having doubled my money and pocketed $16,000. Heroic.

Except for the fact that three years later Paladin hit $9.57.

Hindsight is a terrible thing. Financially I was done and dusted, and I didn’t know it. And all I had to do was nothing, no work, no effort, no thought. I didn’t even have to get out of bed, and I could have been on the golf course forever.

I was new to Australia and new to the Australian stock-market, and what Paladin taught me, and I have seen a hundred times since, and hope to continually see again, was that the Australian resources sector is a unique and beautiful thing, filled with long and short duration trading opportunities, which, just occasionally, present the opportunity to make life-changing gains in a compressed period of time.
The stock market is about probability not certainty.”

https://stockhead.cmail20.com/t/d-l-akyghk-yupddjlly-f/Interesting article, thanks for posting Percy.
It mentions GetSwift, which is an interesting topic. I was not aware of the long running court case until a few days ago when someone mentioned how it is affecting what announcements are made by Brainchip. The GetSwift court case has changed the ASX views on what is an annouceable event, and now marketing is not an annouceable event as a result of the court case.

So there have been three press releases (marketing) this year which have driven the share price higher, and they no longer fit the criteria for ASX announcements.

MERCEDES VISION EQXX – taking electric range and efficiency to an entirely new level. (https://media.mbusa.com/releases/release-211879a94f6a1a0ff764674cdc0a8630-vision-eqxx-taking-electric-range-and-efficiency-to-an-entirely-new-level)

“BRN said there was no material information that would prompt the surge, but it did refer to a press release which flagged a customer, Information Systems Laboratories, had joined its Early Access Program.
Because there was no commercial arrangement, the company said it didn’t fit Listing Rules criteria for an ‘announceable event’.

“If the ASX asks questions they can say it wasn’t material. But at the same time you can pander to your shareholder base through off-market announcements,” Winchester says.
It’s a savvy new theme – building a narrative without having to deal with ASX regulations.
“I think the ASX has clamped down quite a bit in that area. They’ve learnt their lesson from companies like GetSwift,” Winchester says.
“But if you’re not announcing to the ASX you can do it through other channels. And that kind of feeds on itself.”

ASIC took GetSwift to court over misleading public statements about client contracts.

https://www.itnews.com.au/news/getswift-reprimanded-over-big-customer-wins-that-werent-572525
(https://www.itnews.com.au/news/getswift-reprimanded-over-big-customer-wins-that-werent-572525)
“GetSwift, a formerly ASX-listed provider of cloud-based last-mile logistics software, was reprimanded by the Federal Court after announcing a series of high-profile client wins - including with the likes of Amazon, CBA and Yum! Brands - without disclosing them as trials that did not generate revenue.

The company and three of its directors - Bane Hunter, Joel Macdonald and Brett Eagle - were found by the Federal Court to have “made misleading statements” and breached continuous disclosure obligations, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) said (https://asic.gov.au/about-asic/news-centre/find-a-media-release/2021-releases/21-298mr-asic-successful-in-federal-court-against-getswift-and-its-directors-bane-hunter-joel-macdonald-and-brett-eagle/) in a statement.

Justice Lee ruled that ASX announcements about the alleged customer deals “played a pivotal role in engendering the expectations of investors as to how GetSwift’s business was performing.”

“Dissecting each announcement with a scalpel diminishes the cumulative contextual image that was being presented to the market; that is, GetSwift’s growth strategy was working, new contracts were being secured, and there was not a sign of failure in sight,” Justice Lee wrote.

Justice Lee added that GetSwift’s behaviour “might be described as a public-relations-driven approach to corporate disclosure on behalf of those wielding power within the company, motivated by a desire to make regular announcements of successful entry into agreements with a number of national and multinational enterprise clients.”
The company also said in its continuous disclosure policy to the ASX that it would only report “executed contracts” to the market.”

On the Australian share forum some people are asking why the recent press releases are not ASX Announcements. And that is because is no commercial arrangement, and it doesn’t didn’t fit Listing Rules criteria for an ‘announceable event.

Many small retail investors believe that unless it is an ASX announcement if has no value. It suits sophisticated investors that small retail investors believe this as they go to their investor briefings and trade the information that they receive that is not announced on the ASX and manipulate the small retail.

As a result of new ASX culture you need to follow the news, the press releases, twitter and share forums to keep up with the news that will affect the price. ASX announcements are just part of doing your own research.

This article in the Australian is subscriber only, but it confirms the change in policy on the ASX regarding announcements following the GetSwift court case. So if Brainchip doesn’t have announcements it does not mean there is no news or progress.

“The ASX has blocked the release of many announcements, directing speculative plays to instead put details on their websites or in quarterly progress reports rather than in discrete market announcements – which must include concrete terms of any deals if they are to be approved for release."

Brainchip's Explosive Growth: EXPLAINED – ASX Investor. Jan 23, 2022

The chasm is a transition in any product’s lifestyle that must be crossed. It is that transition from early speculative exciting innovative idea to validate real technology that is here to stay with a product market fit. Brainchip’s Akida technology has crossed the chasm. It has gone to a real use technology that customers want to get their hands on and most importantly are willing to put their brand to and pay to use and eventually implement into their products. So Brainchip has started to cross this chasm and that is why there is so much excitement. It is moving from a R&D phase to commercialization.

Sydney – 03 February 2022: BrainChip Holdings Ltd (ASX: BRN, OTCQX: BRCHF& BCHPY), the world’s first and only commercial producer of neuromorphic artificial intelligence chips, today announced that its ordinary shares have been approved for eligibility by The Depository Trust Company (DTC), making it possible to settle trades electronically in the United States among broker/dealers and the Company’s US transfer agent.
DTC is the largest securities depository in the world, holding more than US$35 trillion worth of securities. Being DTC eligible allows BrainChip’s shares to be traded between member firms electronically via its “street name” without buyers and sellers needing to transfer physical certificates to settle trades. This process dramatically reduces costs associated with trading securities while improving the ease of trading and liquidity of the Company’s securities.
“We view being DTC eligible to be a tremendous value add for our shareholders as it significantly minimalizes barriers to trade by enabling brokers and dealers to quickly and easily exchange shares through the depository,” said Ken Scarince, BrainChip Chief Financial Officer. “Having additional real-time electronic trading options helps ease the volatility of transactions, enables higher trade volumes and offers lower trading fees. This is the latest in a series of moves we have made to increase the visibility and attractiveness of our stock to various investors around the world.”
The Company launched an American Depositary Receipt (ADR) program in November of last year as an instrument aimed at attracting US institutional investors. This allowed the Company to have ADSs (with each ADR representing 40 ordinary shares of BRN) to trade in US dollars on the OTCQX. This process closely followed the Company’s upgrade to the OTCQX Best Market earlier in 2021

An article with a negative slant about Brainchip. Apparently there have been lots of them recently.

One issue about continuous disclosure is that their product is a component of a product like a phone or computer that is produced by other companies. So much of the information and decisions are out of their control, especially when it will be IP revenue. And there are lots of Non Disclosure Agreements – possibly 25 or more. We don’t even know how many.

“BrainChip (ASX:BRN): Tech, tech, boom! But continuing concerns around continuous disclosure.

Since 2015 their end goal has always been commercialising, producing and selling their AI technology. But also since then, they’ve have made very minimal revenue, compared with their exorbitant expenses.

For instance, up until 2020, BRN has recorded a mere US$1.5 million of revenue, compared with combined losses of more than US$100 million. And in those same 5 years, they spent over US$17 million dollars on research and development costs alone – significant costs into technology which hasn’t yet been proven to be commercially viable or widely adopted.

Looking at their latest annual results for 2020, their revenue for the year was only US$121,000. Yet their expenses were over a whopping US$11 million. Their losses before tax were more than double that of the previous year.”

BNP Paribas Securities Services on behalf of Clearstream buys BRN shares on the ASX, and allows investors in Europe to buy them on their local markets. So if I understand this correctly 3.57% of shares are held or will be held by offshore investors and are no longer trading on the ASX. This is a clear indication of the global interest in Brainchip, especially by those who are tech savvy and understand the technology.

Clearstream, Deutsche Börse’s post-trade services provider, has mandated BNP Paribas Securities Services to provide local sub-custody services in Australia and New Zealand.

This mandate further extends the relationship between Clearstream and BNP Paribas Securities Services, which already includes local clearing and custody across the Euronext and Turkish markets.

By adding BNP Paribas Securities Services as local sub-custodian, Clearstream will continue to provide services in Australia and New Zealand, as part of its international network, through which market participants have access to investment opportunities across 58 markets worldwide. Via its Clearstream Australia subsidiary, international and domestic investors also receive support and access to Australian and international investment funds.

Interview with CEO Sean Hehir.

At 14 min he is asked “so should we start to see revenue ramp this year?”
He hesitates before replying “We are expecting revenue this year for sure.” In interviews last year revenue was not expected to ramp until next year, 2023. They are expecting some revenue in 2H 2022.

Sean said “most new technology, such advanced technology, it takes time to work its way through the organisations that are going to consume it. It’s so new and so advanced that it takes time for them to get comfortable with it. If you are the leader of the pack you have to do a fair bit of education, and help people understand the use case, it’s that much harder versus traditional technology.

“We look for industries that are in change, in competitive situations, and transformation. Every auto industry in the world is in change after what Tesla has done with electric vehicles. So that is going to be a driver for Brainchip. Industries that need really cutting-edge technology, that is what Brainchip is looking for. Medical, industrial, and automobiles very rapid change. Drones as well.
Anything that is changing quickly those are the industries that we see adoption.

It can be a long sales cycle. Intellectual property, the business model is similar to ARM, we sell licences and that will be followed by royalties. The sales cycle for intellectual property can be somewhat long but once you get in, you’ve sold the licence which is a revenue stream, but royalty is where the real ramp can come.

I want to impress upon the uniqueness of this. There is literally nothing like this in the market today. It is that transformational, and some of the most forward-thinking companies and governments in the world are looking at this and testing and trying it, and in some cases buying it.”
Pay attention to the shift in data centre models from classic to the edge. That is something that is happening very, very quick.

To be fair, it tech and AI sector is something I know little about and have no confidence in myself to invest in it. BRN has for a number of years felt like something that could become huge, and I couldnt resist buying into. It is one of those stocks that will either fade away to nothing or become absolutely huge. Despite holding since Dec 2015 and adding over 2016, it is sub-optimal to watch the share price pull back. This is one stock that could go ballistic on any announcement and the trend is irrelevant. It could go bankrupt too but the technology is so funky I am a believer although my knowledge on tech industries is limited. certainly wont be selling and if it retraces to 50c, I will be topping up again.

Yesterday BRN closed at 90.5c down 5.5c on 17m shares. I think BRN has held up very well considering the market has been in a correction. There was accumulation in the last week or two around $1. It was 68c at the end of last year before the Mercedes news, so it is still up this year. It could go lower as the Ukraine situation drags on.

Why Brainchip Is Down -50% (And What Happens Next?)

· Market wide sell off
· Geopolitical tensions raining
· No new announcements
· Fundamentals price

An interesting discussion about External or Internal Locus of Control = Psychological or mindset framework in the video.

Internal locus of control states that an individual takes responsibility for and believes they are responsible for what happens to them in life.

With an External locus of control the individual attributes a lot of the responsibility and the outputs in their life as the effect of the world around them, e.g. it is raining so I am going to have a bad day.

External locus of control or analysis or research e.g. share price is up, so company is doing well and time to buy more, or share price down so something wrong with the company. This is how most people perceive the markets.

An Internal locus of research probably gives a better long term success rate, where you do your own research, you attribute your own fair values, you develop your own understanding about the company, the opportunities, the potential scale and earnings, and then use external indicators as confirmation.

If we are only looking at a share price we are limiting our understanding. The share price is not the company’s progression. The market is just a balance of probabilities.

BRN is the new standard for edge AI.
Competitors - the other neuromorphic chips are just research, BRN is the only production neuromorphic chip in the market. So, there is no commercial competition in this space, priority is just to get the word out to customers. Grab as much of the market share now while there is zero commercial competition.
Had only 27 employees up to 2020. Will have about 100 people at the end of the year, mostly in technology area.
$19m on balance sheet, when asked about cash flow break even, he said he was not worried about cash position.
It is a long sales cycle. When asked about revenue he said watch the financials, because customers don’t want to disclose they are using Akida because of competitive advantage.
All Early Access Customers still engaged except one.
There is a move towards custom chips = so most customers will buy the IP and design their own chips, which is great because the margin on IP is very good

(https://finance.yahoo.com/news/brainchip-joins-arm-ai-partner-213000555.html)What is Arm?
In case you’re not familiar with Arm (https://www.arm.com/), it is a UK-based semiconductor company that designs the components of processors for others to ultimately build.
The company then owns these designs, along with the architecture of their instruction sets, and licenses the IP to other companies, allowing them to build systems that incorporate their own designs as well as Arm’s.

Earlier this year, tech giant Nvidia attempted to acquire Arm for US$40 billion before the deal ultimately collapsed due to regulatory issues.
At the time, Nvidia’s founder and chief executive Jensen Huang commented (https://www.theguardian.com/business/2022/feb/08/nvidia-takeover-arm-collapses-softbank): “Arm is at the centre of the important dynamics in computing. I expect Arm to be the most important [computer processing unit] architecture of the next decade.”

In light of this, Arm certainly is a company that you would want to partner with if you were operating in BrainChip’s industry. So it isn’t overly surprising to see some investors getting excited and bidding the BrainChip share price higher.

https://stocknessmonster.com/announcements/brn.asx-2A1375316/ BrainChip – Annual General Meeting CEO and Chairman’s Address.

Chairman of the Board Antonio J Viana, spoke about his connection with ARM in his AGM addresss:

“Fast forward to the late 1990s, I joined ARM Holdings. ARM would indeed prove to be the cornerstone of my career. I started as the North American Director of Development Systems - this product line covered compilers, linkers, debuggers - the software suites necessary to generate ARM code....from there I launched a new Business Unit at ARM called the ARM Foundry Program – a per use licensing model for ARM cores....and eventually because a member of the exec team and board...most notably I served as the President and EVP of Commercial and Global Development. I helped take a pre-IPO multi-million dollar business in the late 90s and turn it into a multi-billion dollar, revenue generating company. ARM was, and still is, the de-facto standard in tech IP, let alone microprocessors. Being with ARM, I have had the benefit of positioning ARM IP into every silicon player on the planet. After a fantastic run, the perfect combination of luck and skill, I put aside the 300K miles a year I was travelling and I retired from ARM HOLDINGS in late 2015 right as the SoftBank acquisition talks started.

So, why did I come to BrainChip? .... the answer is incredibly simple – the people and the opportunity. I have known Anil Mankar, our CDO, for a long time. The 2 of us are grizzly, seasoned industry veterans. When Anil challenged to me in early 2021 to look at BrainChip, I already knew that something material was there – Anil wouldn’t be there if there wasn’t a play. Anil explained to me the ups and downs the company has gone through with respect to the development phase of the base technology...and the challenges they were facing going into commercialization. Additionally, there were plenty of corporate issues to sort out. It sounded like a challenge that was a great fit for me...and one where I felt I could significantly contribute.

For those who know the tech space, there is nothing better in tech than being on the front end of disruptive technology introduction. It is indeed what makes working in technology great.”

Top 20 Shareholder Report out today. Founder Peter van der Made is no longer the top holder. He still has 9.120% (9.351% on the previous announcement on 04/02/22.)

Biggest holder is now CITICORP NOMINEES PTY LIMITED with 10.028%.

BNP PARIBAS NOMINEES PTY LTD ACF CLEARSTREAM - 4.330% (previously 3.757%.) Clearstream holds the shares that trade in Germany and Europe. Lots of interest in Brainchip in Germany. So these shares are no longer trading on the ASX.

LDA CAPITAL LIMITED not on the list, they had 0.583% previously.

Good to see youre still active on BRN @moka. Our day will come...well it has already but im greedy and want $50 a shareYes, my day has come too because I bought around 20c, and so $1 is a 5-bagger already, and I will continue to hold, although I have sold some and taken profits so I am free-carrying now.

$2 or more in 6 months time, when the December Quarterly is out, I reckon. Management have said revenue in the second half of 2022, and ramping up in 2023. We will be rewarded for our patience. It is very volatile though, lots of shorting and manipulation going on.

The price was pushed down to 90c when it entered the ASX200 on 20 June. And it then traded between 80c - 90c until a week before the Quarterly. Then $45m sold in two days at $1.20 to $1.36, so some people made 50% gain in a few weeks. The price is going down again so they can fill their pockets and sell into the next lot of good news

Great stuff Moka
I hold with an average 20.2cps and am free carried too as tech stocks are uncharted territory for me. Put my initial investment into POD which hasnt been great on the short term. BRN is still my most exciting stocks as it has potential to be more than the 10 or 20 bagger.
