Interesting... MHI, CMO, RBD, SPN, have done very well over that period... and FBU and POT off course..

Your thread Percy made me revisit my 1998 Investment Yearbook..
Noting AIR as an example it was $4.30 a year before (Mid-1997)..At $2.08 a low PE, very high % yield rate and favourable brokers forecasts, it would've been seen as a bargain..eh

That $4.30 is actually well $12 in real terms -

I suppose if you were looking at PE and Dividend in isolation but other things should have been considered book ratios growth and quality all had question marks.

No...I included all things including hindsight... my statement contained elements of perverse sarcasm towards low PE mirages and brokers ability to predict the future using logical but historic fundamentals:sneaky2:

Winner quote..."That $4.30 is actually well $12 in real terms - " I thought it was x4...$4.30 x 4 = $17.2.....I'm probably wrong..meh!! memory fade so long ago..:p

I just looked at a old chart - $17 sounds a lot better

Wow - AIR at $17 - maybe one day again
