Hey Team, Keen to know what people think are the best sites to use when trading online for the M&D investor.
ASB securities?.. etc.
User experiences both good and bad would be appreciated.

I've been using ANZ since the flood and I've never really considered any other. That is intellectual laziness but I still manage to squeeze enough out of the market. A list of available ones and their rates would be helpful.

I have share trading accounts with both. Very similar overall. Fees are similar (except custodial fees):
ANZ https://www.asb.co.nz/asb-securities/rates-and-fees.html
ASB https://www.asb.co.nz/asb-securities/rates-and-fees.html

ASB
+user interface is a bit friendlier and intuitive to use.
+New IPOs displayed at top of page
+No custodial fees for US shares
- no direct online purchasing of US shares (have to telephone an ASB broker to place an order)
- webpage does not display your foreign custodial holdings (only NZ/AUS) in your portfolio

ANZ
+direct purchasing of US/UK shares
+webpage displays all of your NZ, AUS, UK, US holdings in your portfolio
- charge a 0.3% annual custodial fee on US/UK shares!

Even though it is more of a hassle to buy/sell US/UK shares with ASB I prefer them because they don't have the custodial fees.
