Any one with experience of BBOZ or BBUS? I am with ASB Securities and they say on their site they can't buy and to contact their office.
Not necessarily interested in buying just now, just curious about the potential.

You can trade Bboz with ASB but because their ticker contains 4 letters their system cant cope, hence you have to place orders by phone.

Nothing to do with 4 letters.

You could, well I did once, buy the BEAR direct, probably still can, but because BBOZ & BBUS are leveraged they feel the need to check that you know what you are getting yourself into.

Been discussion on the BEAR thread. I bought BBOZ inFeb whilst doing my big covid stock selldown.Doubled my money (on paper) but its dropped back with this crazy uplift. Took profits some weeks back and its now not far off my entry price back then $8.76. Rinse and repeat is the plan but caution required as it can move up to 2.75 times the s/p

BBOZ on ASX. Not for the faint of heart with its leveraging but a comfort food when the market goes down
Initial Investment $10,000
Fund "short" exposure (as % of initial investment) 275%
Fund "short" exposure in $27,500

If the value of the Australian market falls by 10%
Initial Investment $10,000
Gain on short position (being 10% x $27,500) $2,750
Value of investment = $12,750
Return % 27.5%

If the value of the Australian market rises by 10%
Initial Investment $10,000
Loss on short position (being -10% x $27,500) = -$2,750
Value of investment $7,250
Return % -27.5%

Some say a big crash/correction is coming soon ....might be a good time to play with this or BEAR again.

Are we there yet? Say what, say when ;....when.:t_up:. BBOZ $6.07ish and BEAR (less leveraged) at new lows but on falling vol.Below all moving averages . Keeping half an eye on dese. Goldies my hedge atm.

I've heard talk that the s&p500 will bottem at 3000 to 3300 so only 10% to go?
I think the lucky country is luckier than the rest.

just adding more to my SNAS position (Nasdaq Short ETF)... I don't think this rally on Friday will last and see a lower close end of the week ....

we have US CPI numbers, the regional banking crisis, and the debt ceiling showdown.....

Yellen interview ... we don't see this debt ceiling resolved we will see an economic meltdown >>>>

From "The Bull" - https://thebull.com.au/18-share-tips-29-january-2024/

BUY – Betashares US EQY Strong Bear – CH (Hedge Fund) (BBUS)
BBUS provides a positive return when the S&P 500 index in the US loses value, but this is reversed on any gains. The fund increases between 2 per cent and 2.5 per cent for every 1 per cent decline on the S&P 500. The S&P 500 gained more than 20 per cent in 2023. However, in our view, there is now downside risk based on US earnings, anticipated interest rate cuts and positive news already factored in to valuations. BBUS is highly liquid and can provide index insurance to investors with major exposure to more speculative shares.
