I believe we are entering a very interesting period of increased new listings and takeovers. This is very typical of final stage stage booming bull markets and is being driving by the insane amount of money being printed that's looking for a home.

What are peoples thoughts on potential NZX takeover targets?

IFT - just announced. Would be a real shame to see this go unless it's at a very large premium
TWR - looks to have reach an inflection point and may be a turnaround story that can generate strong cashflow. Previous failed takeover attempts at higher prices
PGW - now confirmed turnaround story, generating strong cashflow, Chinese blocking stakes
APL - significantly below NTA, lowish marketcap that would be an easy 'bolt on' to existing property fund (Centuria etc)

TWR - Agree

+ SKT to the list (CC Ogg)

Some of the biotechs as well. Aroa already listed only on the ASX.

Time for another look at a joint market?

+STU ......although, the last time someone tried that (at $1.95) it was considered 'undervalued'

I think people are missing the constant price increase in PEB on no news. I am thinking they will be next and who knows which price.....

I'm going out on a limb and suggest SAN could be a potential takeover target

Not the target but SCL is sitting on plenty of cash in the bank and no indications on where it is going....why keep it in the bank?

What about the requirement for quota holders to be Kiwi's.

Actually given their execution skills selling off the operational arm and remaining as a quota tenement holder has appeal.

The usual suspect for this would be FBU.

For a takeover to succeed depends on the view of the Commerce Commission as to whether dominance in the merchant steel market is created.

Sealord is 50% owned by Japan's Nissui. Where there is a will, there is a way. There are also some strong Kiwi players (in Motueka for example !!! ) in the industry that I suspect will be gleefully watching SAN squirming at the moment !

ATM, vulnerable SP sitting on massive cash pile with no plans to grow shareholder wealth from it.

Anything could be possible. From previous cases, ABA and MET are from healthcare sector. TLT and IFT are from utility/energy sector.

So NWF and GXH could be targets. The prices are not moving at all, good indicators.

MCK - majority shareholder may look to mop up remaining shares at the current big NTA discount.

PPH and PLX could be attractive for US tech companies

I’m thinking CVT, SKT, and ATM.

NWF by big brother next door to their farm while have to agree with poster above re APL - selling at huge discount to NTA and still paying dividend.

Could we add NZX itself to this list please? Given so many unplanned outages this year, time for a better operator (eg, ASX) to take over....
