Still holding clearasmud? If so you will be happy with this weeks performance. I acquired a few COI earlier this week.

They've recently acquired some prospective ground in the US in addition to what they already had. They will also start to earn a small cash flow via royalty payments later this year from a project they recently sold off. The presentation released today plus some of the recent annoucments gives a good review of what they are about.

They have $3.3m cash on hand. Market Cap is $18m not including some in the money options. Including these options increases the Market Cap to $20m and would increase the cash on hand by $1.3m.

COI appears to be trading at a discount to some of the other Aussie players in the US.

They have large acreage in the rockies and washington.

Still feel comfortable to hold:)

market cap still only 33m.

IMO a speculative buy

Haven,t had time to do some research.

given the red in the market today you would have to say COIs performance was impressive. I would have liked a little more volume though.

Clearasmud, yes impressive today on no volume and no trades! No one is giving this away cheap and given there US acearages I expect this to be trading much higher before year end. COI issued employee options under an incentive scheme today with a strike of 40cents, now that is what I call confidence!

Yes this company has a good track record and appears to be setting up a solid business.
Still happy to hold

Malaho2 to start drilling

I've heard opinions that Malaho alone is worth Comets market cap.
Could well be true with such a large resource.

Patience will be required with their considerable usa assets.

I recently topped up and happy to hold

have been buying up for a while.

This one will be slow and steady from now on as they bring on their targets and drill them. From what I read they are all sure things or as close /to as possible so we should have some good cash flows coming in nex year.

The hard work has ben done getting the land so now we just need to drill it like a pin cushion

COI's stable mate (sorry Melbourne cup fever) STX announced a capital raising via a non renounceable rights issue @25cents. Interesting as I thought STX was cash flow ok and COI a bit strapped having put all their money into assets. COI has great assets imho and will increase before Xmas. Nice action today on both price and volume. This is a tightly held stock with a solid cross holding with STX. Given the market cap is very undervalued.

yeh but at least it is to existingh shareholders and they come with free options whichhelp sweeten the deal.

All in all I would think that they will get good takeup. The only thing that seemed to be missing was the normal "all diectors will be taking it up"

It will be interesting to see who doesn't take them up as i can't see STX fronting up with the $ based on them currently going to the market so they will be diluted down.

Strike only needs 600k.
I need 18k, someone else I know needs 90k.
I only pd 10c for most of the shares
Still the more cash they got the more acreage they can control and drill.

COI on the move up 2.5c to 30c, one to keep a watch on.

Has Oil/Gas & Coal Seam Gas interests in Australia & the USA.

Comet Ridge (COI) has some permits in the US aligned with Strike Oil (STX), & a busy 2007 program of drilling.

A recent broker report (Jan 07) had a conservative valuation of 91c with plenty of upside.

The big play is the US when they drill later on in 2007, on the permits that both COI & STX are viewing as potential company makers.

COI chart has certainly looked good for the last few weeks. The company has options that expire at the end of June and unless they get a hurry on these will die worthless. I hold as the US tennaments are "company makers" each one (but what if they all fail?).

Are you holding just options, or both heads & options?

The Management team at Comet Ridge will deseparately want the options converted, & have the Colorado Oil project & the Cedar Creek/Vader CSG project all due in this current quarter, ending 30 June.

Expect some positive announcements from these two projects in particular during May/June.

The Colorado Oil project should go into production by the time the options expire & this should provide Comet Ridge with some meaningful revenue & more importantly cashflows...

Remember Grays Harbour is the most likely "company maker" with 30 already identified 50 - 250 BCF potential resources.

If we even get a few of these drilled & quantified the SP will skyrocket.

STX is pretty much in the same boat as COI, do you hold any?

roget
17-04-2007, 08:22 AM
Shasta, I hold only fp as I couldn't see the risk in the options as worthwhile. At this stage I know nothing of the current fundamentals but the potential is there, what interested me was the chart over the last month. For its acerages COI has a low market cap and is tightly held. Here is hoping (something you should NEVER do on the stockmarket ...lol).

Quite simply the fundamentals are a bit like another Oil/Gas Junior Explorer i hold (NWE), where they have sold out of a JV, in exchange for a royalty over the acreage.

Comet Ridge will THIS quarter bank royalties from the Tipton West (Coal Seam Gas) project.

Though these are capped at $8m - this will provide meaningful cashflow until the end of the year when the Grays Harbour Project (Washington State) starts drilling for some Oil, but mostly Gas.

The Grays Harbour Basin project is a potential company maker, & seismic data indicates a potential 50 - 250BCF Gas field!

Like with STX, COI should be viewed as a medium term hold into 2008, where most of there key projects should be coming online & producing.

No posts for 3 years, anyway, this is looking pretty cheap at 22 cents, especially with announcement early in May.

Will be interesting to see if the wells start producing and when.
