Hi folks,

DLS has been kind to us, as a good trading stock,
in the past.

As it has just started a new 300 trading day cycle,
some traders have already taken positions in DLS, as it
rallies off the lower edge of the current trading channel.

A .pdf file containing updated DLS technical analysis may
be found at:

Hi folks,

DLS ticking up, with some good
supporting volume, today.

Has been trading on channel lows,
since mid-Feb 2004 and we should
see more traders getting set in the
months ahead, as their drilling
program unfolds.

This is another stock that trades in
line with the seasons ..... ie one year
from the breakdown at the March 2003
equinox and we find DLS lifting off its
lows.

Targets ahead:

June 2004 solstice = 7.0 cents

Sept 2004 equinox = 7.8 cents

Dec 2004 solstice = 8.5 cents

300 day cycle = 21042005 = 11.5 cents

DLS alert ... liftoff ...

Hi folks,

DLS has made a morning star pattern over
the past few days, as it lifted off
its channel bottom, with over 8 million
shares traded, in the past 2 days .....

Top of trading channel would be the
target for a review of this trade
and probable exit, around 7.7 on
or before September equinox.

Would also expect some flack at 6.0
on the way up, too .....

Yep, then they just issue more shares to their mates at 4 cents (yet again) to stuff up a potentially good rise. I'm not a holder, but am disgusted at the way these guys treat their long suffering shareholders !
While under the threshold for shareholder approval, I think there should be some % limit (in relation to current price) that new shares can be issued for ! (say 10% max, without shareholder approval) I'd consider LIO in same category as DLS in this respect (Issuing shares to mates)
Glad I'm not a holder (despite potentially good prospect ) I'm one of theses guys that follows the theory "If you don't have faith in management, then don't invest in them, no matter how good fundamentals/prospects are"

Hi folks,

DLS price and volume up again today ..... :)

Aside from the DLS/STO drilling programme,
in November:

No apparent news, but the "revival meeting"
for MXO will be held in Perth tomorrow and
it has been rumoured around the industry,
that relisted MXO will be the new partner
for DLS in the Bonaparte Gulf ..... maybe
somebody else can throw some more light

Hi folks,

As expected, DLS ticking up today.

Just speculating here, regarding
the news .....

..... financing and/or farmin partner
for the Boneparte Gulf program???

..... news from the DLS/Santos wells???

-----

Really, my own approach to DLS is simply as
an opportunistic chartist ..... whether the
underlying fundamentals, like Turtle and
Barnett are good assets or not will be
duly determined and reflected in the chart.

So, sure it will be good for the company,
if they can get the oil out of the ground
at Turtle ..... and Barnett should prove
to be easier, as the oil is of a lighter
grade.

----

Deciding where we stand as traders can be
of great help, when evaluating oil stocks.

-----

If we are looking at daytrading, then our
strategies will likely be announcement-driven,
even though the content of those announcements
will probably not be of great concern to us.

-----

If we are trading short-term swings off the
charts, then the "short-term news" like the
progress in individual wells, will likely be
of most interest to us .... while, underlying
fundamentals will probably only be of interest
in terms of establishing the longer trend and
general "feel" for that particular stock.

-----

Only, if we are medium-to-long-term "investors",
with long pockets and plenty of patience, will
we be concerned with the minute details of the
"big picture stuff", like oilfield successes and
failures, supply contracts, sovereign risk, etc.

Longer-term players assume the risk of significant
short-term swings to underpin their view of higher
share prices, at 2, 3 or even 5 years ahead.

-----

Knowing our trading time frame can be very
beneficial in reducing stress in our trading,
by reducing unnecessary research and the
accompanying information overload .....

..... and a good win/loss ratio also helps ... lol :)

Good stuff, Yogi. Excellent summary of how to look at trading/investing in the junior oilers. On the fixx forums there's a young chap who's been asking for some tips along the lines of: 'how can I make some quick cash!!?' If you and the more experienced traders/investors are willing to write down your approaches to the business on these forums it will help the 'newbies' immeasurably. Thus you will hopefully save some people heartache and cash burn by letting them in on some 'tips'. Tried to do the same myself on one of the junior oiler companies a few days back as I was a bit non-plussed by the 'how do I make some quick cash!!?' person, realising he was probably in for some trouble. He reads these forums as well, so hopefully will read your summary above - its better than mine.

Hi POK,

Many thanks for the kind feedback .....

..... if people are looking for quick
cash out of the Aussie economy, then
they should go rob a bank.

Otherwise, if they get their market-timing
right, they might be able to take a steady
salary out of the markets, month-after-month,

DLS showing three black crows over the past
few days and price has also come back to
a significant Gann retracement level,
at 6.1 cents.

Two long cycles figure in DLS chart,
on 16-17 May 2005.

Soon after, on 19-20 May 2005, we see
3 short time cycles slot into place for
DLS, followed by another on 02 June 2005.

DLS ticking up nicely now ..... we are shooting

Figure we might trigger a further rally for DLS around

Hi folks,

DLS ..... technically primed for some good
news, then lift-off ..... :)

Key dates ahead for DLS news/moves may be:

18-19082005 ..... minor

23082005 ..... minor and positive

26-29082005 ..... significant and positive ..... finance-related ???

05092005 ..... minor and negative

13092005 ..... minor and negative

22092005 ..... minor ..... change of management/direction (???)

27092005 ..... minor and positive

05102005 ..... positive spotlight on DLS

it pans out .....

Hi folks,

Thought that you may just want to hear something
of our reasoning for a pullback in DLS, quite soon.

OK, so here's some simple Gann stuff, using DLS:

From the 16032005 highs (12.o) down to the lows
on 16062005 (6.o) was exactly 3 months, so the
next rally has taken another 3 months (16092005),
to the day ..... a rally of only one cent per month !~!

If DLS was strong, that retracement of 3 cents,
should have taken only 45 days or half of the
duration of previous leg down ... instead, it has
taken an EQUAL duration in time, indicating that
DLS may not be as strong as some may expect.

..... so we have made a 50% retracement and Friday's
price action could not hold the highs and finished
right around the 50% retracement of the previous
leg down ..... also, if 16092005 price action is
confirmed as a high, even a shooting star, we could
reasonable expect a pullback in the DLS price.

Also, around the 22092005, we have a good chance
of a change in trend (as per cycles posted below)
... so, if it has been going up and there's a
change in trend, where is it likely to go now and
how long will it take to get there ..... ???

..... dooowwnnn ... !~!

-----

Now, using the same 50% retracement as a guide, we
can project 45 days forward to around 01112005 and
a price target around 7.8 cents ..... and a break
below that would have us looking for support, at
the previous gap ..... 7.3 - 7.5 cents, probably
about the end September - early October (???)
(as per cycles posted below).

-----

Some DLS cycles ahead ..... :)

13092005 ... minor and negative

22092005 ..... minor ..... change of management/direction (???)

27092005 ..... minor and positive

05102005 ..... positive spotlight on DLS

-----

..... but, that's just a contrarian's view and of
course, all this may be 100% wrong ... but then
again, who forecast the DLS low at 6 cents,
earlier this year ..... ??? ... :)

have a great weekend

yogi

P.S. ... here's another DLS tip ..... 17-18112005
will probably bring the biggest news for
DLS, in 2005 ... so, mark it in your
trading diary.

Hi folks,

As per post above ..... DLS takes on more water ..... it sure
sounds like mutiny in here, after the captain almost scuttled
our little vessel on some rocks, as he tried to run for cover
in the shallows.

Too bad, hitting the rocks opened up those leaking
timbers some more and she's sinking fast now, as
the water gushes in through the cracks.

No sounding of a confirmed bottom as yet, so we
will probably have a short wait, before it's time to
sit on the bottom in the shallows and make some
repairs.

We need to have completed repairs before 05102005,
when a king tide should lift us off the bottom and back
into a spell of fine weather, for the good of fair-weather
traders .....

..... and lubbers, that means no more sea-sickness for a while ..... lol ... :)

Hi folks,

DLS ..... it has taken longer than expected,
but now this one is trading close to our

..... with more negative news/moves
expected out of this camp over the next
couple of days, we may even see another
test of support around 7-7.3 cents, over
the next week or so ..... ???

Some DLS dates-to-watch:

19102005 ..... significant and negative
..... finance-related ...???

21102005 ..... minor

07112005-12122005 ..... may be a very flat
period for DLS ..... ???

04112005 ..... minor - change in direction??

14112005 ..... significant negative news ???

17-18112005 ... probably be the most
critical time in 2005 for DLS ???

24112005 ..... major cycle here - near lows?

05122005 ..... significant changes ... lows??

19-22122005 ... rally ..... ???

Hi folks,

DLS ..... nothing to get excited about, for a while yet ... in fact,
it will probably be late-January 2006, before any real positive
news surfaces.

We know that 17-18112005 is an important time for BUY, but
the implications may well be reflected in DLS ..... and maybe,
to a greater extent than many traders realise, yet.

So, key dates ahead for DLS, may be:

17-18112005 .....
Full moon and a cluster of 5 time cycles here,
so expecting some significant news. Though
DLS traders may be mildly positive, about that
news, the market response will likely be flat.

24112005 ..... major cycle here - near lows?

05122005 ..... significant and negative

19-22122005 ..... a minor rally here ???

22122005 ..... negative news

02012006 ..... 2 minor cycles here.

11012006 ..... minor news ..... 2 cycles

There's not many penny dreadfuls around that already have positive cashflows in this oil exploration business.

The market will wake up one day and DLS will get re-rated. I'v been waiting for two yrs already with hardly any movement in shareprice but I think it will be worth the wait in the end. Good to know that I'm not alone in recognising the potential of this company.

Disapointing announcement recently, gave away shares at discount to raise cash, with no placement or consideration to shareholders, suks.

What more can I say, sold half and booked profits.

Last drill hole a dud, but 6 from 7 ok, 45 to go.

Re: Tintaburra - Weekly Drilling Update – 16th May, 2006
Drillsearch Energy Limited is pleased to announce two successful new oil wells in the
Gimboola and Endeavour fields as the 2006 Tintaburra Bock 51 well programme
moves forward with 2 drilling rigs in operation.
Gimboola 3 was drilled at Gimboola Field about 2 km northeast of Mulberry Field. It
encountered 3 metres of net oil pay in the mid Birkhead reservoir and has been
cased as a future oil production well.
Rig PDI -735 then moved back to Mulberry Field to continue the Mulberry appraisal
programme and spudded Mulberry 12 on 13 May, 2006.
Drilling at the Endeavour Field about 15 km north of Mulberry began with Endeavour
5 spudded on 4 May, 2006. Endeavour 5 has encountered approximately 14 metres
of oil pay in the Birkhead Formation. Endeavour 5 has been cased and suspended as
a future oil production well. Drillsearch is very encouraged by this result.
Updated location maps for this first part of the 51 well programme are attached as

Well I do not know how you quantify this, [?][?][?] 52 hole drilling operation,
Every week new holes with oil, around 14 hits and 2 dusters so far.

Got over my disappointment with management giving away discounted shares.

Anyone got an idea how you quantify this company [?][?][?][?]

Hi Tricha,

DLS ... we could have 100 people analyze this
one, at present and you would have 100 different
answers.

It seems, that the surest way to quantify the
DLS fields will be to watch the ACTUAL production
figures to give us a sound foundation and simply
use those figures, to update our own analysis,
on a quarter-by-quarter basis .....

..... and unless something dramatic happens, not
much should change in any three months of production,
to turn us negative on DLS for the medium-term outlook.

Until the wells are hooked up and producing it is
a waste of time and effort speculating on the
blue sky potential in DLS ... yes???

Patience, patience, patience ..... :)

Well Well Well, blow me down Yogi

Why not have more oil today and they have added another oil rig to the scene today.

I know I need to be patient, but what does another 8 metres of oil at Mulberry 15 mean.

For example we take 8 metres, 1km x 1km.(it's far bigger than this)
This gives us 8 million square metres of gooey black oil.

How many barrels of oil in a square metre [?][?]

My maths isn't much chop, answers on this would be appreciated.

Are we talking heaps of millions of barrels of oil, sounds like - the oil field is huge, spread over many Km's and sounds like - oil outside this area.

Thanks again Mick 100, some luck in analyizing the picking competion and coming up with one winner DLS, your pick.
My oil pick was ARQ, ouch.

Dear Sirs,
Re: Tintaburra ¡Ì Programme Summary ¡Ì 15 June, 2006
Drillsearch Energy Limited (#8992;Drillsearch¡ö) announces a brief summary of the
Tintaburra oil development programme.
Drillsearch is now over 1/3rd through the current programme which commenced on 27
February 2006. At this stage with the completion of 17 wells (Mulberry 17 being the
most recent) 16 wells ( 94%) have encountered oil in the Birkhead reservoirs at the
Mulberry, Endeavour and Gimboola fields and have been cased as future production
wells or production support wells. Approximately 14 of the cased wells are planned
as oil producers with the remaining 2 planned as water injection wells designed to
achieve enhanced oil recoveries. One well (Huckleberry 1) encountered oil but was
plugged and abandoned due to tight reservoir conditions.
The Tintaburra wells are progressively being tied in to the production system with 6
wells now producing oil and the programme is on track to add significant oil
production volumes for Drillsearch this year. With these production tie ins
Drillsearch¨ˆs SW Queensland sales in April were A$ 746,000 and group sales passed
A$ 1 million. Revenues will again increase in coming months.
The operator has lifted the drilling rate by adding a third rig contracted from Precision
Drilling to the programme, PDI Rig 721 which is drilling the Chancett-1 near field
exploration (NFE) well.
Significant well results so far:
#1048707; Mulberry 12, 11, 8 and 10A which proved that the Birkhead oil
reservoir at Mulberry has lateral extensions out to approximately 3 km
east west by 2 km north south from field centre.
#1048707; Mulberry 8 encountered 12 metres of reservoir in the Birkhead zone.
#1048707; Endeavour 5 encountered 14 metres of net oil pay in the Birkhead
reservoir unit and is a western extension of the Endeavour Field.
2
#1048707; Mimosa 1 NFE made a new oil discovery in the Birkhead zone 850
metres southwest of Endeavour Field. Mimosa 1 encountered
approximately 6 metres of oil pay in Birkhead zone.
The Tintaburra programme is now the largest continuous oil development and
exploration drilling programme ever undertaken in SW Queensland with 3 modern
rigs drilling and casing wells at around 7 days per well. It will continue at least into
October 2006 with the balance of 34 wells likely to be drilled (depending on results).
Drillsearch emphasises that it is possible there will be a number of plugged and
abandoned wells particularly since some wells are near field exploration wells
however, these will not detract from the overall programme successes.
Drillsearch anticipates that the current (51 well) programme will achieve a major
increase in it¨ˆs oil reserves this year and put it on track to increase it¨ˆs revenues
beyond $12 million per annum into 2007 given current prices. In addition planning is
currently underway to drill an additional 9 development/delineation wells at the
Mulberry field.

Dear Sirs,
Re: Tintaburra - Weekly Drilling Update – 19 July, 2006
Drillsearch Energy Limited (“Drillsearch”) is pleased to announce the successful
drilling of Talgeberry 12 as a new oil well. Of the twenty-eight (28) wells drilled to
date, eleven (11) have been placed online as oil producers and one (1) as a water
injection well. Eleven (11) wells are cased and suspended, the majority of which will
be new oil production wells. Five (5) wells have been plugged and abandoned with
22 wells yet to be drilled in this first phase of the Tintaburra drilling programme.
Further drilling is being planned to commence after completion of this first phase of
drilling.
Rig PDI-735 spudded Talgeberry 12 on 13 July 2006. Oil shows were encountered
while drilling through the reservoir units of the Wyandra Formation and the Murta
member. Wireline logs indicated over 9 metres of net oil pay. The well was cased
and suspended as a future oil production well and the rig was released to the
Talgeberry 13 location on 18 July 2006.
After being released from the successful Endeavour 9 delineation well, Rig PDI-724
spudded the Endeavour 7 delineation well. Endeavour 7 has encountered oil shows
while drilling through the Birkhead reservoir section and the well is currently nearing
TD.
Rig PDI-721 was released from Bilberry 1 NFE well on 14 July 2006. Poor road
conditions due to heavy rain have prevented the rig moving to the next NFE location
Minni-Ritchi 1. The rig began the move on 19 July 2006, and Minni-Ritchi 1 is
expected to spud near the end of the week.

2 new wells drilled, hit good oil, logged and ready for production. One of these rated as significant, as it extends the field.

So sucessful has the drilling been, they are going to drill another 20 holes.

DrillSearch to pay 15% of the costs, for a 35% take. Not a bad deal and I can't imagine ExxonMobil doing it for nothing.

If it hits, add a 0 to Drillsearchs price, if it misses, they have still got oil for 15 years.

Glad to see there are a few people on Hotcopper that can come up with an educated reply![:) posted by Silentpartner

I agree Thricha, personally the last thing I wanted was a low ball takeover bid for Drillsearch prior to Marina drilling or even prior to Turtle/Barnett Drilling. Have been in Drillsearch for three years waiting for these company making prospects to get some action.

Extract from Corporate update:

Marina 1 – WA318P, Bonaparte Gulf

Detailed preparations for the drilling of Marina 1 well are in progress. Site testing involving hydrographic surveys and shallow core drilling at the Marina 1 location will
commence shortly. Currently the jack-up Rig “Wilcraft” is drilling the Hurricane 2 well on the north/west shelf. The current drilling schedule for Wilcraft will see Marina 1 now commencing in early October, 2007.

Turtle/Barnett Project – Retention Leases

Drillsearch has obtained extensions of the retention leases covering the Turtle/Barnett project, which are estimated to hold approximately 90 million bbls of OOIP in several zones. The project has potential to delineate a recoverable resource of 15 to 20 million barrels.

With the extensions in place the forward programme for Turtle/Barnett has commenced with reprocessing of the entire seismic data set underway. This reprocessing will generate a fully integrated seismic data set and lay the ground work for 3D seismic surveys later this year and in early 2008.It is hoped these surveys will generate an appraisal drill location to be drilled in September 2008.

Drillsearch has committed the Wilcraft rig to drill one (1) well at Turtle/Barnett and has an option on the rig to drill a follow up well.

The option well will be available to drill an appraisal well in the event of a discovery at Marina 1.

Under valued, partly due to the correction, with the oilers hit pretty badly even though oil is still above $70 US and the OZ dollar back to 84 cents.

Partly because once u got your rights on the 1st August, I would guess a lot of punters would have sold $5,000 worth of their existing ones for 16 cents.

And get them back for 10 cents, not a bad deal.:D

My cheque is in the mail for another $5,000 hopefully for 10 cents and the beauty of it all picked some more up today from the bargin bin for 13 cents.

19 cents again soon and like I stated, if Bonaparte Gulf delivers, add a 0 to the 19.:p

Otherwise just sit back and see where their 15 years of earning from the Cooper Oil project takes them.'

Oil exploration and production stocks got beaten up along with the rest of the resources sector in the subprime credit crisis of two weeks ago.

And like their mining cousins, they spent last week recapturing some, but not all, of the lost ground.

Blame that on the strength in the Aussie dollar taking some of the gloss off oil prices. But with world prices climbing back over $US70 a barrel, the recovery in share prices should continue.

That is particularly so where a stock can match a long-term cash flow to leverage in some high-impact exploration. It is a position that one of the industry's junior stalwarts, the Sydney company Drillsearch Energy, finds itself in.

Drillsearch has 462 million shares on issue after recently pulling in $6.6 million from a share purchase plan. At Friday's closing price of 14c, it was valued at about $64 million.

Underpinning that valuation are production interests in the Australia and Canada. Sales revenue for the year to June 30 was $14.68 million, with the group's stake in the Santos-operated Tintaburra (10 per cent) and the Naccowlah (2 per cent) blocks in south-western Queensland accounting for $9.32 million of the total.

Both blocks have been subject of the so-called Cooper oil project in which Santos and its other partners are drilling small oil pools on a rapid-fire basis to maximise production at a time of historically high oil prices.

The project has been kicking goals but floods in the region mean that the full benefits won't begin to flow until the end of the year.

That's all well and good but the punter's main interest in Drillsearch at the moment is in the drilling of the Marina 1 wildcat well next in the Bonaparte Gulf, offshore from Western Australia.

Drillsearch reckons Marina has the potential to contain more than 200 million barrels of oil equivalent. Its partner in the well, ExxonMobil no less, isn't saying what it believes the potential is but the oil giant obviously is not interested in wasting its time by drilling anything but a significant target.

Marina is in WA-318-P, about 250 kilometres west of Darwin in water depth of 65 metres.

Proposed total depth is 2350 metres so, if it all goes to plan, Drillsearch should know within three weeks of Marina's spud-in date whether it's on to a company-maker or not.

The well will target three potential reservoir units where hydrocarbons have been discovered in adjoining permits, most notably ENI's Blacktip field, 60 kilometres to the east.

ExxonMobil will be paying 85 per cent of the well costs to earn a 65 per cent working interest in the permit, leaving Drillsearch to pick up 15 per cent of the costs while retaining a 35 per cent interest. Needless to say, the response to a big find at Marina would be explosive for Drillsearch.

tricha: Do you still see good buying value in this stock at sub 18c levels? What is your target over the next 2-3 months?

Yes good value to 18 cents, DrillSearch would be worth around that for its existing oil, probably go between 20 and 25 cents before spud of Marina, a few other juicy prospects to drill after that.

As the Plunger says - "Good buying at this price IMHO. Discovery at Marina is worth conservatively 60cps probably a lot more. The fact that Exxon Mobil has returned to Boneparte with DLS speaks volumes. "

A hit here and multi bagger, if not back to 18 cents I guess.

A bit like 2 up I guess!

Veritas DGC has commenced a 2D seismic survey for Drillsearch on its southern Bonaparte Gulf exploration permits WA 317P, 318P and 319P located approximately 150 kilometers west of Darwin. The permits adjoin WA 279P and WA 313P where Woodside made a substantial gas discovery with its the Blacktip 1 well in August 2001.
That well recorded combined gas flow rates of 89 million cubic feet per day principally from the Permian interval. Veritas will collect approximately 760 kilometers of new high quality 2D seismic data under Drillsearch's 2002 work program. The new data will be merged with existing 2D data. The survey has been designed to further delineate a number of major leads indicated from initial seismic mapping of the Permian and Carboniferous intervals within the permits and up dip from the Blacktip discovery.

Drillsearch said major leads within the permits at the Carboniferous interval have indicated potential original oil in place in individual leads of between 265 million to 2.36 billion barrels. Leads at the Permian interval have indicated potential OOIP in individual leads of between 72 and 285 million barrels. Drillsearch is currently in discussions with several oil companies about the possibility of a farm-in. Drillsearch owns 100 percent of WA 317P, 318P and 319P permits.

More money raising, 1 for 4 rights issue at 10 cents, the markets initial reaction was not good.
The money will be "well" spent on high impact wells.

14th September is the last day to hold some, to participate, so expect on the 15th to see a price drop as punters off load their existing ones to pay for their share of the issue.

Highly successful oil drilling in Cooper
Basin in 06/07 has moved Drillsearch to
$15 mpa from sustainable oil production.

Rights issue dragged them down to 15 cents.

Recovering and issue nearly finalised.

Let the action begin, expect the price to increase closer to 20 cents, the closer Marina gets to target.

I guess thats where u drop 20% off to cover your bet;) Maybe!

This has been a bargain, right  $5,000 worth of shares issued @ 11.3 cents recently.

gave u 44,000 shares worth 16 cents = $7040

Followed up by another issue @ 1-4, gives 11,000 rights @ 10 cents =$1,100

Worth 16 cents = $1760

So in a blink your $5,000 becomes $7,700 @16 cents. Bargain right ?

.................................................. .................................................

But wait, u buy 200,000 shares recently @ 14 cents = $28,000

Get the rights issue of 50,000 shares at 10 cents =$5,000

Now at todays price your $33,000 investment is now

250,000 shares @ .16 = $40,000

Now that's what I call a bargain for this penny dreadful !

.................................................. ..................................................

Hmm, depends how big your balls are, If Marina comes to fruition, those 250,000 shares could be worth $250,000, now thats what I call a bargain.;)
( We will only focus on the positive)

Tricha, I guess that's the problem with spec oilers......each well is very much a 'heads you win, tails you lose' kind of proposition. To cut the risk, you either have to be quite diversified across a number of spec oilers, or have a sizeable weighting to big guns like Woodside in your portfolio, where the failure of a single well doesn't do much damage.

To my way of thinking, this is where spec miners have it over the oilers.....the picture usually changes more slowly, giving you the opportunity to exit without loosing your shirt.

Drillsearch are earning good coin and they are not the operators, thats a blessing, which in a nutshell means even with this turbulance in management, they have got an income for the next 15 years, not many penny dreadfulls can attest to that.
So in 2008 this dog could be a winner, it is in my picks and it is in my portfilo.

Drillsearch Energy Limited
ASX RELEASE
CHAIRMAN’S LETTER TO SHAREHOLDERS
Today your company has announced a merger with Great Artesian Oil and
Gas Limited (“GOG”). This merger has been suggested in the past based on
different share values. The major stock market correction has caused
commercial sense to prevail and this merger will create a significant mid-tier
producer.
Specifically, the Drillsearch shareholders have experienced a very difficult
period and I thought it important to stress to Drillsearch shareholders the
benefits of the merger with GOG. The combined group will now have –
 Much improved access to the capital markets for equity and debt.
 Critical mass which will enable us to exploit the value of our combined
and complementary assets.
 A skilled board and complementary management team with many
years experience in the oil and gas industry.
 An improved and stronger market position to attract the “best” farm-in
partners.
 Ample infrastructure and human resources appropriate to a mid tier oil
and gas company to work our assets.
 Enhanced credibility with all stakeholders.
Through this merger Drillsearch shareholders will be better positioned to
exploit the many opportunities as a mid tier company in an expanding oil and
gas industry.
For further information, please contact the Executive Chairman on (02) 9241

Well it has been a long time between posts on DLS. None-the-less, for those that don't no much about Drill Search take a look at this presentation: http://www.asx.com.au/asxpdf/20130225/pdf/42d7s65jcrqz3y.pdf. In particular pages 5 and 33 and note the Y13 production exit rate of 7,750 boepd, of which 6,000 is oil.

DLS also have a JV with QGC, where QGC are funding $90m shale exploration for 60%.

You only have to look at big brother SXY who has a market capitalisation of $958m to know where DLS is going. Both great companies but I think DLS production is going to surprise a few.

Personally I rate the MD Brad Lingo.

Talking to myself here, but anyway...I think 2013 is going to be a huge year for DLS

It's all coming together

6,000 bopd, but don't forget the Wet gas project

New Wet Gas sales agreement, with volume increasing by 30%

Have a listen to this, http://www.brrmedia.com/event/110655/mr-brad-lingo-managing-director?popup=true&wl=573

1700-1800 boepd currently from Wet Gas which DLS has a goal to increase to 5,000 boepd in the next 18 months.

As I said in my previous post, these two projects are going to produce HUGE cashflow

DLS getting closer to STO.

I hold a few STO from way back but DLS looks more exciting these days!

Hi all

I'm very surprise how little chat there has been about Drillsearch production. The latest drilling report stated oil production from PEL91 had reached over 12,500 bold or 7,500 bopd net to Drillsearch.

This is ABSOLUTELY HUGE. Then you add on wet gas production of 1,750 boepd and we are a very large producer with stunning margins.

Our production is double SXY's yet our market cap is much lower.

This is worth a look and I own both plus PGS

Great AGM presentation out yesterday for Drillsearch.Year to day (only 4 months) and all key metrics have exceed the entire 2013 finanical year.

Here are the highlights:

Production: 1.14mmboe, (FY2013: 1.06 mmboe)
Revenue: $122.2m, (FY2013: 102.2m)
EBITDAX: $76.8m, (FY2013: 32.9m)
Gross profit: $90.5m, (FY 2013: 58.9m)

This is going to be a powerhouse result on a 12 month basis and massively exceed the production guidence of 2.3-2.5mmboe.

However, the key take-aways for me was the Wet Gas business upside in the nearterm of $100m per annum (Slide 25). Currently this is only around $26m per annum.

Others:

-10 existing oil discoveries in Western Flank
-Current oil production from 3 fields only
-Western flank prospects now exceeding 100
-Full development of existing discoveries and only moderate exploration success required to maintain current production levels
-Existing middleton-brownlow wet gas can maintain production for over 10 years
- 15 wet gas discoveries awaiting development, enough to support another 2-3 wet gas satellites

Anybody reckon a merger with SXY makes sense?
It would give the merged entity some real muscle.

It does make sense from an operational point of view but I would be very disappointed if it happened at current prices because I believe DLS is undervalued and SXY overvalued relative to each other.

if you have a spare couple of hours, they would be well spent watching the latest corporate presentation. dls clearly lay out their five year plan (what other mid cao oiler has done that) and present very professionally.

big takeaway is news on the acer assets and in particular flax which could be good for 10kbopd.

DLS has been sold off with all the other oilers. IMHO it is one of the better operators and has hedged 1.2mlbs at excellent prices. Low cost operator that is still cash flow positive at these levels. ¤170mln in cash so no cash call in the foreseeable future. Patience.....should be rewarded. Picked up my 2nd tranche today at 72 cents. Still could be some downside (may test the 65 cents again) but really happy to join the register!!!!

Good solid results for the quarter. Management controlling costs and production strong. SP up 8% from 2 weeks ago. Should open strong on monday after 6% rise in oil on friday. IMHO still a strong buy

Definitely Gaz, Drillsearch is the premier small mid cap australian oiler. I like to compare the DLS and SXY quarterly reports...

DLS v SXY

Average Price received per barrel A$96.5 v a$81. You can really see the benefit of DLS hedge book here.

Sales A$70m v A$28.2m

Production mmboe .79 v .36

Operating costs A$ per barrel 28 v no disclosure !

Speaking of hedging earlier, the 176,000 and 746,500 barrels that DLS have hedged at us$90 and us$70 for production up to 30 June 2015 is fantastic and 2/3 of the next 6 months production!

Hey Corp,

DLS has taken off the past two days....up to 88 cents as I write. Stability in the oil market overnight is helping sentiment. Down in the low 70's it was almost a no brainer because of the cash pile and the low cost nature of their operations as well as their hedging. Own plenty but should have taken a bigger bite.

If oil continues to improve so will the SP of DLS.

Cheers

Decided to cash out of DLS today. 35% in 3 weeks (72 cents to 97 cents) is an amazing return and I am not 100% confident in the oil rally at this point. Maybe I have bailed early but it is good exit.

Still believe that DLS is best placed of the small/ medium producers in the medium term.

Back in DLS tonight...near 12% fall today. Oil prices still going south. DLS still has reasonable hedging in place. Seven group have 19.9% of DLS and BPT....could be some corporate action around DLS. May go a bit lower from here....

Corporate - what are your thoughts?

Gaz - trust you are well.

Oil is a tough place to be at the moment but if I was to pick one oiler to own it would be Drillsearch. I do have concerns over Brads exit and how the strategy may change. Brad was a very good operator and something significant must have happened for him to have departed so quickly. I'm interested to see where he pops up next.

Like you say corporate action might be on the cards and I wouldn't be surprised if Drillserach didn't exist in 12 months time. Seven are busy behind the scenes - I just hope shareholders get fair value.

Hey Corp,

Not great that Brad has gone....SP negatively affected by his departure.

DLS continues to drift lower after the big drop of two weeks ago. I have been buying down the curve...)))) Should have good free cash flow this year with its hedging in place, stable production, wet gas coming online and free carried on some wells. Nice cash pile as well.

OP is impossible to pick but short term does not look good. Seems to be bouncing around these levels but could break lower.

I am also in FAR which is struggling. Potentially a great discovery in Senegal but not a huge amount of cash...enough to do 2 appraisal wells but that is about it. Will be hoping for confirmation of the oil basin and then a CR to carry on with exploration and further appraisal. Oil stocks are completely out of favour but should have their day in the sun.

...DLS is not going to exist Corp as we discussed above and it was BPT. I am happy enough with the merger but question is now whether or not to sell DLS or wait until the merger and hold the BPT shares. Thoughts? Currently, I am thinking to hold on as I believe BPT SP has been manipulated for the merger and will rebound. With the current SP of BPT, DLS shares are worth 85.6 on the merger terms. Current SP is 82.5. BPT gets to 80 cents and DLS should be $1.

Well done to holders.

Cheers
