I dunno, why don't you tell us? What do you think? Location of property would be a good start. Do some research first before asking silly questions.

Sounds extremely cheap.....think average these days is closer to $2K, dependent on the build quaility.

I'd say it's well north of 2K per sqm & climbing. Rising construction costs are also contributing to rising house prices. If anyone can do it at 1k they are performing a miracle, or using a different form of accounting.

How long is a bit of string?. Silly questions deserve silly answers. I take it the plans and consents are included in this price but not the block of land.[?] Macdunk

Bit harsh, its a simple question and deserves a reply.

I'm involved with a charity which builds houses and even with donated labour and discounts, the cost tends to be around $1000/m2. It shows what can be saved if you do a lot of work yourself but you need to have the skills and the time.

My enquiries suggest that $1500/m2 is a realistic figure. Kitset houses are a good option.

Yes, quite realistic for labour only, I'm positive I'll be close to that fig.
