Upgrade at whumbie west saw rau up 20% today.This site may turn out to be very large as other sampling still to tested.All looks good so far.Still waiting announcement on other drilling projects and the chinese seem very interested in it all.Should break 4c tomorrrow.

Close at 5c today,hopefully break 5.3c this week.I know i'm the only one posting on this.I only bought it for 3c as a spec buy and they seem to be turning into a good company and now with the chinese onboard and results due..... Well i'll just keep posting.

What size resource are they drilling/looking for & whereabouts?

With Gold prices looking bullish even the Gold specs should do well & RAU at the penny dreadful level could easily double on sentiment alone?

Shasta thanks for posting.I would love to tell you all about it,but as you can tell by me posts i'm not one for rattling off facts and figures,besides their website Republicgold.com does a good job.But if you want to look into it i would start with MT Carbine and Whumbal west

From first glimpses the board/management look a bit wanting...

They have a small non JORC, relatively low grade resource

The Copper, & Tungsten probably has more appeal IMO...

This is a very early on "grass roots" Gold explorer, & by the time they shore up a resource to JORC, would be well & truly behind a host of other specs with better access to drills.

About as spec as you get Jeremy & not a share for me im afraid.

I've been in for a couple of weeks now, done a fair bit of research beforehand and it all looks brilliant from where I'm sitting. Aggresive drilling that is turning up promising results and very bullish buying since I joined up. I think it's going to be a little winner and I'm already 20% up!

PS. a million shares traded at 4.9 right on the bell.

the mine RAU owns at Mt Whumbal looks like it's jam packed with copper and tungsten. Go to boardroom radio... brr.com.au and have a listen to the audio interviews with John Kelly who runs RAU. You can tell from his voice he's excited.

It's been a mad few days, options gained 70% so far just today.

Yeah I watched the price action all day yesterday, got out at 8.8 then back in at 8.5. Checking the depth, there seemed to be some steady accumulation going on so hopefully and indication of some news to come.

Well i got out at 11 thinking I would buy back in on a retrace to 10 only to watch it keep pushing to 12.5. Retracing back as I speak I will re-enter at 10.5 today. Might get real ones rather that these CFDs. Its just so tempting and easy to take profits with the CFD.

Unless you can see a good reason to stay in, leave with the day traders cause a retrace is inevitable without a substantial reason for the new market value. Look at the charts for FNT and HGR to see what often happens after a big spike based on hype

PS these are my thoughts, not advice

I havent looked at the company so I cant comment. Does your research indicate a big ann may be on the horizon and if so will it likely justify the current price and more? By hype I mean unsubstantiated rumour

There was a "please explain" on the 15th after the shares went from 4.5 to 7.4 - with no known reason. Now its touched 12.5.

Anyone listen to john kelly on board room radio lately.He seems very excited about up comming announcements and there is a few of them. I Think they are onto something big but we'll have to wait and see.First ann due out maybe next week.Hopefully rau dips back into the low 8's so i can get some more,but even at current price it may turn out to be cheap.

New member to ST, but long-time reader. As my name will attest to, I am new to the sharemarket, have little experience but would definitely like to learn a lot more about it. Looking forward to any tips from any of you. RAU is one of the first few shares that I bought, got in at 9 cents. Very excited about the prospect of this company with many possible positive announcements coming up in the next month or so. Exciting times ahead for this company.

Hi Junior,

I am pretty new to ST as well but welcome anyway. There are many knowledgeable people who post here and it is a good place to start if you are looking for shares to research and additional viewpoints. I word of caution I guess for anyone that is new to the share market... always DYOR never buy anything based solely on what you read on a forum somewhere.

I like RAU and I am pleased you will be sitting on a nice profit as you bought at 9 cents. Remember that stocks like these are very speculative and have a high risk return trade off. Personally I will only allocate a small portion of my capital to these types of stocks and add to my position as I my risk profile allows.

I hope this is not teaching you to suck eggs but I have really only started trading/investing specce shares like this in the last six odd months after being in the markets for two or three years. I would hate to see you get burnt on one spec stock at the outset.

Wow, did not take long for it to happen did it? Is this share going up too quickly? Anyone putting trailling stop losses on this or happy for this share to settle a bit over the next couple of days. In saying that, I can't see this share closing down this week.
Jeremy b, agree with you that I would like to have an announcement to go with this increase.
Was "dreaming" for this share to go up to 50cps, but at this rate that we're going, I can't be sure that we will not get there.

I have sold half of mine at 0.255 this morning. Now its at 27.5. To far to fast for me. I will buy some more on the retrace if it does......

On another note FNZC/NB executed my trade really quickly but I doubt that the sold at 0.255 as it was rising so quickly. Literally 30 seconds after I pushed the button I watched RAU realtime on my IG platform go to 0.27. I went back and another minute later the order had traded at 0.255. Funny how quick they can be when it makes them money eh?

I have taken my profits from this share now. I sold on the 15th of November when 132,000,000 shares changed hands and the price dropped considerably.
I have spent some time trying to find out the reason for the large share drop before I buy back in. What I have found out is on the 07-11-07 Citicorp Nominees Pty Limited Brought 12.99% or 77,564,102 shares and sold 36,534,896 on the 15-11-07. Thats a large amount on a days trading for one seller and may have caused the share price to slump the way it did. It may be be a good idea to check how many shares other large shareholders own this stock ( I Have)and how long ago they brought them, when considering holding or buying this stock. It would seem they only held the stock for one week !!! and still have 40 or so Million shares waiting.

I don't think it's all that bad.A director sells a fair whack of shares, but this is announced after market close,maybe to lessen the impact on the share price.Prehapes he just needs money for something else.Surely if he was running he would sell them all.The chinese are comming to have a look and surely be here for the signing and announcement of MT carbine.We still have whumbal west and a couple of others to come yet.I think we are just having a retrace,the price can't keep going up all the time

The director you maybe refering to is Mr Peter Wicks (Non Exec. Chairman) who ALSO SOLD 800,000 of his 1,425,000 on the 15th, 16th & 20th of November 2007. Citicorp Nominies Pty Ltd who sold 36,534,869 all on the 15th of November 2007 and still have 41,029,206 of the shares they purchased on the 7th of November 2007 are listed as custodian for these shares, I do not know who owns them. This I Know. The volume of shares traded since the 15th of November 2007 has dropped to just over 13% of the volume traded on the 15th of November.

Good bounce by rau.I think the only reason the price went down is the fact that alot of results were due back by now and this hasn't happened,the labs are just to busy.Everybody got nervous and panicked.By the end of jan we will know about mt carbine and whumbal west.The rest is history.

Let me note that RAUO is/was probably suppressed due to the fact that OPES had RAUO which must have applied selling pressure from ANZ... assuming this is over, RAUO should catch up. If not, we are doomed :-P

Anyway, thought it was worth mentioning this risk to those who have not been aware of OPES impact on small caps (DYOR!)

Didn't want to get too greedy and preferred not holding any over the weekend when employment figures are due to be released in the USA, a volatility factor for the DOW.

mmm, looking at the volumes building up till today, it should be a positive announcement assuming that some info was leaked... but to be honest, I have no idea.

Possibilities:
1) Capital raising
2) Announcement of deal with chinese
3) Announcement of new project
4) New developments in litigation front concerning Luzon Minerals
5) Re-examination of drilling results based on new model

Take your pick, my guess is as good as yours :-P

On the 17th of march their was an ann about them going to china in the next 4 weeks to sort a deal out.....The ann is not on their website so to look at it go through the asx website....This is my guess at what the Trading Halt is about.

I might check the website for any outstanding drill results.

RAU upswing again on increasing volume, now 9.6c (up 26%) but RAUO up only to 6.2c (31%).

Rumors? What's up? Definitely something brewing here, worth making a punt IMHO...

Lagging again, exercise price is 2.5c so RAUO should be around 7.1c...

Sold off my RAUO when it hit 75c today, +35% trade in 48 hours was too good to give it a miss and didn't want to hold any options over the weekend just in case DOW sneezes again...

Options still lagging the heads but this is a typical "buy on rumor, sell on fact" stock.

Good luck to holders, today's announcement seems to lack substance but was obviously anticipated by the market considering the increasing volume and price hike recently.

Chart looks good but RAU is a VERY volatile stock so be careful... tight stops a must :-)

meaning 12c - (8c+2.5c=) 10.5c = 2c anomaly still here, great leverage :-)

However, still waiting for the much awaited chinese delegation related updates.

Good news is that RAU has 9 million in cash:

This stock was a crazy stock a couple of years ago, went up nearly 300% in a matter of a couple of weeks, since then, it has slowly dropped down to nearly its lowest. Listened to the BRR and a couple of projects sounds promising. Treegora (FNQ) and Bolivia should create "a bit of a rocket under our share price" (as quoted by JK).

I made some good money on it a couple of years ago, but have been sitting on the fence since then. I picked some up again a while ago. Interested in what others think of this company.
