Have taken a small punt in this interesting wee exploration company.

Approx 138m shares on issue (fully dilluted), 107m undilluted

Current market cap @ 49c = $67m

Management seem quite adequate & proactive

Largest shareholder - 16% is Ragged Range Minerals Pty Ltd (Mgmt)

Lion Ore Australia Pty Ltd holds - 7%

Cash on hand - 30/9/07 = $2.8m

Next 1/4 expenditure = $0.5m

Main Projects:

Nickel/Copper:

3 projects in WA, the most promising is the Copernicus Project, THX holds 40% SMY 60%. (IGV @ $US500m )

Platinum/Palladium/Gold:

THX has 100% of the Lamboo Project (WA)

Uranium:

5 different projects (2 WA & 3 NT)

Nb, THX management were going to spin off the "U" assets, but changed there minds, have a read of the big U players next door to them!

Copper/Zinc:

1 project (Sophie Downs) in WA

Listed Investments:

UMC:ASX 21.35m shares @ 0.91 (MV = $19.5m)
UMCO: ASX 12m options @ 70c (MV = $8.4m)
ROY:ASX 885,515 shares @ 0.36 (MV = > $300k)
ALZ:TSX-V - Unsure (< $1m)

Points of Note:

1. The Copernicus Nickel Project JV with SMY looks to be the jewel in THX's crown & with Nickel prices above $US25k per Tonne becomes very profitable.

2. The Uranium portfolio is quite promising given the areas they are in & the number of projects (& who is around them!)

3. Management have fingers in a few pies & there are some related party transactions...

4. They had Rick Crabb on the board, who had to resign to due the work committments with Paladin (PDN), who is also on OEL's board.

5. THX has meaningful positions in all there JV projects of at least 40%, with options to drop to 20% & free carry to feasibility.

6. THX also has the likes of SMY funding the Copernicus project costs to earn its 60% share, so has little capital outlay for the majority of its JVs.

Thought i'd bring this spec back into light.

Current share price 41.5c

UMC has had a bit of a run to $1.40, (UMCO @ $1.21)

Given the run on UMC/UMCO - the THX SP has gone down!

Plenty to like for those looking for a decent spec

NB, the Nickel project with SMY is the jewel in there crown

May look at re-entering for a short term play :D

I read a very positive broker's note on this company the other day.

UMC and Copernicus have progressed nicely over the last few months.

"THX has a current market capitalisation of little over $52m, meaning that the
value of the Company’s cash and liquid investments alone justifies its share market
value. In essence, shareholders are receiving the value of Copernicus and it future
revenue stream and prospective base metal and uranium tenement holdings for free."

As Shasta said, plenty to like -it sounds good to me.

Holding due to the cheap UMC exposure.

Buy signals:
MACD crossed above Zero today,
DMI system on the 18th
5/20EMA cross on the 19th
PSAR on the 23rd.
Technically looks good.

Might excite a few end of day traders tomorrow after the big announcement UMC released today.

Fundamentally way too cheap, A rerating is due.

THX - Copernicus Nickel Mine - Update

Shame this project won't get underway but the price of nickel has dropped too far to proceed in present conditions...

PAN owns 60% & THX 40% of this project

Hi shasta.

I like THX's partner in the Copernicus mine, PAN ( formerly known as Sally Malay) better at these prices. ( PAN SP 89c ).
Had $92m cash at last balance, almost 50cps, and a hedge book $100m in the money in October ( about 52cps ) and profitable nickle operations at Kambalda and The Kimberley as well as the suspended Copernicus mine.
The SP wouldn't have to drop much further to get me excited.

;)

THX is still an explorer, with near term Nickel/Iron Ore projects/holdings with PAN & UMC.

PAN looks cheap alright, but which base metal producer isn't!

It was one of my first tentative forays into share buying when i started in 05/2008. Bought 50k @ $0.51 & stubbornly never sold them. Looking good now with the finds next to Sandfire.

Having averaged down massively over the last 5 years I may finally start to see some rewards. Jeez - talk about needing patience.
