Hi - Looks as if no-one has been talking brokers much in NZ – which isn’t really surprising with the big banks having it all wrapped up.

Idley looking through http://money.ninemsn.com.au/shares-and-funds/ I came across the ad for Bell Direct http://www.belldirect.com.au/

Bell are pushing $15.00 trade for up to $15K which is a heap better that ASB’s $30.00 for up to $10K.

It would be nice to fined a non big bank operation that is safer than Access was! Anyone know much about Bell Direct? Anyone in NZ got an account with them?

TSB Read the fine print most of those cheap brokreages rates have traps like the number of trades you have to do, monthly minimum charges, Data chareges or large deposits in low interest accounts. Westpac was the best for a small amount of trades but you must reside in Australia but Direct is very competitive.

I agree with Possum, in that Direct are competitive in their pricing and it is simpler to use a local broker IMO.
