Have been using geocities for scout group but they are closing down, maybe I should just move with the times to flickr etc.

Hopefully Drillfix sees your post, he'll be in the know ;)

I am sure they were hosting non-profit stuff for free.
You can have one page for free on Telecom's site from memory, too.
I can't PM you (Vince?) so if you can PM me I'll see what else there is when I get back tonight.

Here's the telecom one.

There's a few other hosting programs I know of from $50 per annum.

Try http://wordpress.com

Its made for blogs but can be made to work for simple sites.

Or if you are prepared to pay around $60 per year then you can't go past http://squarespace.com

Use 110mb.com - free no ads hosting. Buy a cheap domain name and have it redirected there for a "normal" looking no ads website.

Apologies Jay for not responding but I've been ill with the flu for weeks and weeks.
Just as well by the looks though because the providers I know of can't compete with adventi's suggestion (except for maybe one but they're only new).
$3.60/month for linux, 1 gig space and 2 gig traffic on the business plan  What a bargain.
My site comes up for renewal in November and I might transfer.
Thanks adventi.
