Thanks, shasta.

A search of NPX didn't show the "NPX Chart" thread which surprised me as I knew there was an NPX thread somewhere.

I'm pretty sure the old layout would have thrown it up - it seemed to list anything remotely connected to the subject sought. Anyway, let's revert back to "NPX Chart" for discussion and retire the new thread.

Rather surprising though that no-one seems interested in the result, even if the substance of it was mostly well signalled/guided in advance..

Pretty amazing result considering the poo they were in a year ago. It does make you wonder that with better cash management (or bank covenant management) how much shareholder wealth could have been saved. O well lets not look back but forward on this one. Is the growth sustainable? If so $4.50 could be the next target....

Since there is already a NPX thread with more info in it shouldn't this thread be closed? Moderator please?

Interesting announcement:

Yesterday, Nuplex unveiled the world’s latest technological breakthrough in coatings, Acure, an innovative technology that will significantly benefit manufacturers around the world.

Manufacturers traditionally need to balance the dry time of a coating, with the time at which the paint becomes unusable, referred to as its pot life. Nuplex’s research and development teams around the globe have decoupled this adverse relationship to produce Acure.

Sounds like even old boring chemical companies can develop new stuff. If this coating is as good as they say (and they point to early customer feedback to confirm that), than I can see significant potential for them to increase their global market share.

Well done, guys & gals!

Need to develop new stuff just to survive. That's the way with boring old chemical companies peter

They do have many very good products already, is this anything really special and a game changer I doubt it.

NPX will steadily plod on and in good years make a bit more than the year before ....pretty boring eh

BP - talking to an industry insider today I gather that Nuplex's main competitor in this particular market segment is well and truly pissed off with what Nuplex have come up with. I got the impression they are light years behind Nuplex in developing this type of product. Worried about losing business?

FORECAST: NPX: 2015 Financial Year Earnings Guidance Update

NZX/ASX release 12 May 2015

2015 Financial Year Earnings Guidance Update

Nuplex Industries today announced an upgrade to its earnings guidance for the
2015 Financial Year due to the ongoing strong performance in Europe, steady
growth in Asia and North America, and the continued improvement in Australia
& New Zealand.

Operating EBITDA* is now expected to be between $130 million and $134
million. This guidance range includes the 5 month contribution from Nuplex
Specialties and Masterbatch, the two ANZ focused businesses which were
divested on 28 November 2015. Nuplex had previously expected EBITDA to be
within the range of $115 to $125 million.

The 2015 Financial Year statutory results will report the performance of
Nuplex's continuing operations - the global resins business. Nuplex expects
statutory EBITDA from continuing operations for the 12 month period ending 30
June 2015 to be between $124 and $128 million. Previously statutory EBITDA
was expected to be between $109 and $119 million.

Nuplex's CEO Mr Severin said, 'Earnings for the 2015 Financial Year are
expected to be higher than expected due to the realisation of benefits from
internal initiatives and supportive market conditions.

'Nuplex's EBITDA to sales margin is ahead of management's forecast as a
result of the benefits flowing from the global procurement program, lower raw
material costs and group-wide lower operating costs.

'It is also due to the turnaround in profitability in the ANZ business where
the EBITDA to sales margin has continued to improve following the restructure
undertaken over the past few years.

'During the second half of the 2015 Financial Year, market conditions in
Europe have been better than expected as a result of activity in the
Automotive OEM and manufacturing sectors. Asia and North America have seen
steady growth as expected. In ANZ, as anticipated, market demand has been
relatively flat' said Mr Severin.

For the 12 months ended 30 June 2015, in local currency terms and in
comparison to the prior financial year, Nuplex is expecting EBITDA from
continuing operations in each of its four regions to grow;
o EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa): between 18 and 23% due to
higher EBITDA to sales margins and mid-single digit volume growth resulting
from strong demand from the manufacturing sectors and new product and sales
initiatives.
o Asia: between 15 and 20% due to higher EBITDA to sales margins and
mid-single digit volume growth.

Good old Nuplex eh blackcap ..... maybe this time it is different

So a brave move raising their guidance but had to has 15% odd. Is close to the end of the year so should be about right. Well done

Just for interest sakes here is their guidance ranges over the last few years. Not exactly growing is it (mind you it has sold a small part of their business) .... but the sort of performance one would expect of an old fashioned chemical that does a bit of innovation to stay in the game
