The Troughs are periods of peak beer consumption and the highs are periods of peak used beer disposal.
Noteworthy is the fact that not all beer consumed in each period was processed in time for the next used beer disposal period causing an escalation in used beer disposal in each subsequent disposal session.
In addition there was probably an increase in beer consumption in each subsequent beer consumption session but this observation is not conclusive at this time

Clearly everyone forgot to take a wizz before the Ceremony also.

Conclusion
Both beer and water consumption were in a short term uptrend which has now concluded

In addition it would seem more people held onto their used beer as the game progressed and became more exciting :scared:

It simply shows people going to the toilet between game quarters - exactly as you would expect. You see a similar pattern at your home when the ads come on TV.
Some other facts that can be gleaned from this chart :-
(1) Average Edmonton water consumption normally decreases slightly from 12md to 6pm.
(2) The day of the game was no exception.
(3) Overall water consumption was essentially the same as the day before the game.
(4) As the game progressed, more people used the toilet between quarters (people held on as long as they could).
(5) In every quarter, interest increased as play progressed.
(6) There was even more interest in the award ceremony than in the game itself.
(7) The vast majority of punters stayed to view the medal ceremony.

This chart was originally posted under the heading "Synchronicity".
Synchronicity is the experience of two or more events that are apparently causally unrelated occurring together. Since there is an obvious causal relationship between water consumption/toilet flushing/game interest, "synchronicity" was not an appropriate or accurate heading for this chart.

Yea.. .nice .....but Sundays line is easy!! a known one off event factor creating a major effect. Knowing the time and behaviour of this one off event factor before it happens the chartists would have made a bucket load of money off this trading chart event as it was a predictable....:cool: Another predictable (minor) event factor not mention by posters is that it seems (presumed) dinnertime was around 6.00pm (uncomfirmed -see below**):)

However

Saturdays green line is more of a mystery.:confused:
Saturday (green line) down trending from start of chart (12.00 noon)..trend break at 3.30pm resumption of downtrend from 4.30pm. Hmmm strange?? **The Sunday dinner time bump was not evident on Saturdays line either... strange??.

Why??

It pays to obtain outside information using the chart as a reference.

I often dig deeper to find reasons for chart behaviour with some shares I'm interested in..Sometimes some shares can produce predictable behavioural chart patterns when repeating and predictable factors not seen on the chart come into play..Being able to identify those factors and timing their occurrences using TA indicator buy points a TA investor can create a money making opportunity.

An example below.... digging a little deeper involving Winner69 chart attachment

Using the basic chart info.. Time... population habits with Water usage.... place:- Edmonton you can add event factors that can cause an effect to this chart and create a scenario(s).

Is this a normal Saturday? Can't find charts to see previous Saturdays. For the sake of this example lets assume every Saturday for the past month has been the same...notice how it trends down as the day progresses with a bump up around 3.30 - 4.30pm but falls again before 5pm...why? the answer doesn't matter..An opportunity exists here using history (time) from each previous Saturdays to buy into the chart at 3pm and sell out at 4.30pm. I would be aware that this opportunistic event won't last forever as time affects time and all event factors affect outcome.

Try time factor again with a natural repeating/predictable occurring daily event factor ...People preparing for dinner and washing up effect..a bit early I would've thought...so the effect is not noticeable on the chart?
Try place factor...High latitude country....so maybe eating habits or water usage change with early sunsets? (predictable factor) (sunrise/sunset tables) (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/astronomy.html?n=80&month=2&year=2010&obj=sun&afl=-11&day=1) maybe during the summertime (a presumption-no data) but no at this present time...the table suggest this is not the case, as sunset on

27 Feb 2010 Sunrise 7:26 a.m. Sunset 6:08 p.m.

28 Feb 2010 Sunrise 7:24 a.m. Sunset 6:10 p.m.

Try another Time factor with a population behavioral event factor....Saturday business (predictable event)..yeah may effect volume (presumption) ..but no at present time..it seems shop trading hours are similar to ours. (Southgate Shopping Centre) (http://www.shopping.ca/cambridge/jsp/cs_hr.jsp?mallid=sga)

Try another time factor with a weather event factor (moderately short term predictable event)..Weather for Saturday...Max -2c Min -11c nothing out of the ordinary temperature-wise about average for that time of year (historical event factor)...but it was a dismal day no sun just rain:confused: (frozen) Climatic Data Edmonton Airport (http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/CYEG/2010/2/13/MonthlyHistory.html) So maybe the bump was weather related (effect unknown..lack of confirmation data)

So... what was the cause of the Saturdays 3.30 - 4.30pm bump in demand?..
