The stocks below are basically gambling stocks. TA is a load of bollocks, if this example is anything to go by. Maybe we could have a few more T\A examples.

Anyone like to do a meaningful T\A on Beach:confused:

My favourite stock based on fundamentals is Beach and I doubt Beach is T\A able.BPTBeach Energy Limited FPOhttp://www.stocknessmonster.com/images/australia.gif http://www.stocknessmonster.com/chart/stockness/hist2/ASX/BPT/1y/line/30/0/

They are all news driven and on any given day they could explode or implode.

I had a quick look at EKM and this has potential with gold and Uranium. It's a pure gambling stock.

We all know where CUE stands, as long as the oil price does not crash, it should be a winner.

NXS, toss a coin to where this one will go.

(1) Technically, the strongest of the lot. Rising OBV (not shown) Note, though, the long upper shadow on today's candlestick. This usually means short-term weakness - see the other 2 earlier examples of this. Translation :- Wait for this weakness to resolve itself before buying.

(2) Second choice. In a nice uptrend, although showing a little very short term indecision (Doji candlestick) It might pay to delay buying for a short time. Rising OBV

(3) Struggling to overcome resistance at 24 cents. OBV also failing to overcome resistance. Not recommended.

http://i602.photobucket.com/albums/tt102/PhaedrusPB/VMS.gif
(4) Flat lining. Going nowhere. Flat OBV. What's to like?

(5) In a downtrend. Falling OBV. Too illiquid. Don't even think about it.

Hi Tricha,

Sure, will do have a go tomorrow after markets,

But remember, its not a boxing match and it must be noted that TA does not "always" work well with "all" stocks.
Meaning, some stocks it works great with, on others it is as can be an unpredictable random process whereby with no gauge except, what it is today is what it is.

Same holds true with Fundaments, "with certain" companies. The have great stories, news becomes due, the price runs a little but suddenly falls back on the great news for whatever reason, although not with all stocks.

FA vs TA sounds too much like a World Title boxing match. Though, in brief, I can say that if I knew much much more about FA, and then balanced my knowledge of that FA towards TA, by right I should pick stocks that I am in both control of either getting in and out of at the right time, more frequently if they are not moving but less frequently if they are moving in the direction we expect it to go, or knowing when to NOT be in the stock, which by where the TA + FA theory should really shine for us.

I look forward to hearing others, but OS took a whipping so obviously no need for a chart atm.

Will gladly post one tomorrow, if you still request.

What type of commentary would you like? Crystal Ball or Estimation? At the end of the day, the market is gonna do what the markets gonna do. But you already know that though right :P

Cheers~!

The thread title alone shows that this is pointless and its a debate that has been covered a million times.
The answer is not one or the other, its both.

If they are gambling stocks as you say and cannot be valued with FA and they are so volatile that TA is also not useful ( though I doubt this would be so ) then surely they will not be a useful example for drawing any kind of meaningful comparison.

Both a helicopter and an aeroplane make a lousy submarine

To be honest Tricha I dont think I can be bothered there are others on this site with better skills than I and your mind is clearly closed on the subject so what would be the point?

There are plenty of TA examples for BTP on the BPT thread.

CUE is a gambling stock you say ( the stocks below are etc ) then you comment that we all know where it stands. How does that work?
