Hi all. I'm looking at getting some new trading/investing books and would like to offload some of my older ones to fund this. I've included a brief summary from what I can remember and the link to reviews from amazon.com. Let me know if you are interested. :)

1. Trading for Dummies by Michael Griffis - This was the first book I bought on trading, and is a good introduction. Explains the basics of trading and portfolio management.

2. Trend Trading by Darryl Guppy - This book has been described as a beginner/intermediate book on the subject or trading trends (obviously). It explains the use of the GMMA (Guppy Multiple Moving Averages) and the count back line, and compares these to more common indicators. http://www.guppytraders.com/gup202.shtml

3. Share Trading by Darryl Guppy - The explanation below is from Guppy's web site - http://www.guppytraders.com/gup2.shtml

SUMMARY OUTLINE

Section I, Advantage, Private Trader, looks at the advantages enjoyed by private traders and ways to benchmark trading success through using these advantages. It includes a specific trading cashflow strategy.

Section II, Selected tools for the Private Trader, looks at new ways to use Indexes and trend analysis, set profit targets based on Point and Figure (P&F) signals, and fine tune entry and exits. The P&F chapter clearly explains why P&F works because of its construction and shows how it can be integrated into a trading strategy.

Section III, Getting Paid, deals with money management that matches risk with position size in small accounts and the way the 2% Rule effects small account trading. It compares six money management models based on starting equity of $6,000 and progressing to $21,000.

Maybe we should look at running a book swap at the Wgtn ST meeting? (Though I'm such a collector that I have trouble letting go of any - rather like my shares!)

We could set up a little "Trade Me" thread on this forum. :)
